“This is a lovely oasis in a very busy city center. It is quiet, elegant, and well appointed. Staff is wonderful. We were on holiday when a family emergency forced us to have to extend our stay. The hotel extended our stay, daily, and made sure to keep us in the same room. They provided all amenities needed while taking care not to disturb so we could sleep in between hospital visits. They made a difficult situation so much easier for us. Gracious hospitality at its finest. From management to housekeeping to front desk. Excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.”

“Amazing food! So good that we came 2 days in a row. I only wish we tries it on the first day we could but alas, we stumbled upon it on the second last and last day of being in Cardiff. The lovely batista person behind the till had asked if we wanted a loyalty card and we explained we were on holiday. When we went back the next day he asked us if we were certain and we said we were sadly driving off after our breakfast. I noticed after paying for some sandwiches etc. for the road, that they had peanut butter, dark chocolate and sea salt cookies and asked my husband to get me one and the batista person gave me it on the house for returning, and wished us a safe journey. This genuinely made my whole day! Please go here, its soo good. I recommend the rose and jasmine tea, and honestly anything with poached eggs because the food was outstanding.”

“What a cracking visit! Rob was an absolute legend – his witty banter had us laughing from the moment we walked in. Friendly, sharp, and full of charm, he brings real character to the place. The pints were top-tier – perfectly poured and ice-cold. You can tell they care about quality here. And the food? Absolutely fantastic – piping hot, full of flavour, and hit the spot perfectly. Great atmosphere, excellent service, and a real credit to Rob for making it such a memorable experience. We’ll definitely be back!”

“My wife and I had the absolute pleasure of staying at The Coal Exchange on the 8th of August 2025, and we honestly can’t speak highly enough of the entire experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism. A big thank you to Jamie on reception, who was incredibly friendly and polite – he made us feel instantly welcome and set the tone for a fantastic stay. Our room was stunning – beautifully decorated, spacious, and spotlessly clean. The highlight was definitely the spa bath in the room, which added a luxurious and relaxing touch to our evening. It was the perfect way to unwind. We also had the chance to dine at the hotel’s restaurant, and the food was nothing short of amazing. Every dish was full of flavour and beautifully presented. Special mention goes to restaurant managers Haley and Sam T, who were both outstanding – attentive, professional, and clearly passionate about delivering a great dining experience. All in all, The Coal Exchange exceeded our expectations in every way. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 Last Saturday, our whole team from the Albany Road Post Office went to Juno Lounge on Wellfield Road for a team dinner. We had an amazing time! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the food and drinks were excellent, and the service was outstanding. The entire team at Juno Lounge made us feel so well looked after, especially Zoe, who was so friendly, attentive, and professional throughout the evening. A big thank you to everyone working on the bar and the floor staff for making our night special. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great service and a relaxed vibe.”

“The Conwy has recently been taken over, it is still set out as a lovely little family restaurant. Prices are pretty standard, staff very attentive and friendly, well presented, food really tasty and fresh veg used, lovely atmosphere. Lovely Sunday lunch. I will be going again when next in Cardiff, you should give it a try, I don't think you will be disappointed.”

“The staff at the duke have been absolutely fantastic on my visit. Warm and welcoming, nothing to much for them and it seems to be a very well oiled machine. On top of this the food was outstanding for pub grub, I went for the tuna jacket, very impressed with the presentation, and the taste was fantastic. My partner loves burgers so went for the cowboy burger, and he demolished it. I’ll certainly be back to the Duke, thanks again to the welcoming staff.”

“Beautiful pub in a lovely location. My children had three courses which were very well proportioned and they really enjoyed everything they had. Me and my partner had the Sunday roasts which were absolutely stunning. I also had the chocolate fondant for dessert which was gorgeous! Amazing food, brilliant service from all the staff and a lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be visiting again. My daughter even asked if we could go there for all our food!! “We came today, Sunday 3rd. Lisa was absolutely brilliant, even though she was rushed off her feet! She was so lovely and attentive, and nothing was too much trouble. “We visited on Meat Free Monday (1st December), arriving in the pouring rain, and were immediately greeted with a warm smile and a cosy fire - the perfect welcome. We ordered the vegetable lasagne (both the vegetarian and vegan options) with chunky chips, and everything was delicious and such good value. The team were genuinely lovely, attentive without being intrusive, and made us feel right at home. It’s wonderfully dog-friendly too - they came straight over with a bowl of water for our girl, which we really appreciated. A great experience from start to finish, and we’ll definitely be back.”
