“Amazing prices, great beers. Very clean and fabulous black sparkly bar surface, generally a very nice atmosphere. Unfortunately some of the people using this pub do not appreciate the fantastic value for money as this place is better than even Wetherspoons on beer, lager and cider prices, no one comes close to the Bristol house and yet despite being provided a great space outside with ashtrays to smoke and vape, they chuck their fag ends all over the place and it really is a mess. Staff are very hard working and on the rare occasions some people get loud they control situations well and it always feels safe.”

“I'm in heaven, great Cypriot toasted sandwich. Grilled halloumi, bacon and trimmings. Top if off with a wonderful latte. I will definitely be coming back here.”

“I've been to the landing light a lot and its always been a nice experience. They've recently changed some of the menu and the baked camembert is huge! Was a pleasant surprise. Staff are always friendly and the food is very nice with good size portions.”

We completed our walk over Caerphilly Mountain and Trig Point and could see for miles over the Egwysian, Caerphilly, the Bristol Channel, Steel Holm, flat Holm and Cardiff. “We chose Rhodri's by the lake for our mini Christmas wedding as it ticked all the boxes for what we were dreaming of. Warm and cosy interior with a stunning natural backdrop of a lake. We couldn't have asked for anything better. The venue was perfect and the staff were so professional, very helpful and accommodating to any of our requests. It was a very special and magical day. Thank you all at Rhodri's by the lake and Canada lodge and lake for all that you have done. Highly recommend.”

“Saturday 11th March 2023 Tonight, I visited this vibrant real ale pub in the centre of Newport. The young people inside this real ale pub were loud, but all in hood fun Music not to my taste /I'm and I visited old foagie like/ This pub served 3 great real ales picture posted on pubs website. I was very impressed by this pubs beers And atmosphere. This is a place I am very impressed with. Saturday 15th February 2025 This pub is a very good real ale pub tonight it had 3 great hand pumped RHYMNEY BREWERY real ales on see picture on dite and the locals vety pleasent and yhe pub a goodvlocals pub. The staff really good and atmosphere was also good Keep up good work all involved”

“I was a kebab virgin, The workers were bloody amazing, they made a fresh nan in font of us. And filled it with lovely chicken and beautiful salad. The shop was so clean and every thing is on display for you to see I couldn’t recommend it more highly!!!! So friendly and happy, made us feel at home. Come down and try one …… you won’t regret it, amazing value for money. It’s a “yes” from me!!!!!”

“This is is a very friendly pub, the staff will always make you feel welcome and do what they can to make your night better. The beer selection is good and it also tastes very good, you won't find as much choice in the other pubs. On the weekends they have various entertainment from acoustic to bands and everyone taps there feet. There have also recently started doing cocktails and I have tried a few and they are tops. If your passing make the effort you won't be disappointed.”

“Stayed over 1 night as visiting Cwmbran. Lovely double bedroom Coffee/hot chocolate and tea available. Bathroom to a standard. If you add breakfast, dining area is very good. Only let down was that you had to have waitress service for hot drinks and cups were very small. Maybe provide a larger cup !!! Self service on break buffet. Cold drinks , juices, fruit, toast and jam available. It is best to ask for veggie sausages if you are veggie before breakfast starts, as not cooked in buffet selection.”

“Stayed here in my motorhome had electric hook up .the food and drink is amazing and the local people are brilliant and it's reasonable priced their is also a kiddies play area .it's a very clean nice friendly pub .I would highly recommend it . I shall definitely be back again .”
