“Lovely for a 1 star establishment. £20 per night for a dog is very expensive by comparison to other hotels including 4 star+ establishments. Bathroom in need up updating otherwise clean and comfortable”

“2nd stay at this hotel now while we have been visiting Barri island. Staff are so welcoming and friendly. The room was massive, clean and comfortable. The bar area was lovely and relaxing. Food was nice too.”

“We had a fantastic two night stay at Miskin Manor. I cannot comprehend the people who complain about the building being old. That is why one goes to these places, because they have so much history and character. I do not know if some rooms in other parts of the hotel are in a bad state, but our room was magnificent. I absolutely loved the views and the old furniture. I could almost imagine being the lord of the manor. The buffet breakfast was great and had more options than many places I have stayed in. The evening meals were also very tasty and the staff were always trying their absolute best. The hotel is also well located right next to the M4 to give easy access to Cardiff and the surrounding areas. I would definitely go back to Miskin Manor.”

“Shop here quite regularly, approx once a week. Today there was a problem with the fresh fruit fridges. A young man named George (Gorgeous George)was kind enough to go out to the warehouse and bring me the fruit I needed! First class service. Thank you young man.”

“I stay at the Holiday Inn Newport most weeks, and it never fails to deliver. From the moment you walk through the doors, the warm welcome and consistently high standard of service set the tone for a great stay. A special mention has to go to Emma and Liz, who always go above and beyond to make guests feel valued. Their professionalism, friendliness, and genuine care make such a difference – nothing is ever too much trouble, and they are a real credit to the hotel. The bar and restaurant team also deserve huge praise. Service is always attentive and welcoming, and the food is excellent. Breakfast in particular is a highlight – a great choice, fresh, and always served with a smile, which makes starting the day that little bit better. It’s rare to find such consistency week after week, but this hotel delivers it every time. The staff really do make the difference here, and it’s the reason I keep coming back. Holiday Inn Newport truly sets the standard for hospitality.”

“Had a good stay. Staff in reception helpful and sorted an issue immediately. Housekeeping staff were lovely. Yes, the rooms are hot but fans are provided in the room and the windows had been left open prior to us arriving. Comfy bed, good choice of pillows, duvet was like a weighted blanket! En-suite was very clean, towels were plentiful. On-site parking is a bonus, breakfast was ok.”

“This place is huge!! Food was good too. Burgers were slightly overdone, chips were nice. Everything else well cooked and pretty standard for a wetherspoons. Sitting outside with a sea view on the terrace is lovely. Could spend hours here.”

“Can't recommend this groomer enough!! Genuinely loves what she does and it shows every time my pup comes back from a pamper with her! I don't know what products she uses but he smells glorious, his coat is so shiny, the cut is always perfect and his tail constantly wagging! Also, lovely, personal touch last Christmas of a photo of my dog and a lovely card. Wouldn't go anywhere else!”

“Fantastic alternative to the cattery for our cat Mickey. Mickey refuses to eat whilst away from home and struggles with separation anxiety. Caroline took excellent care of him at our home, he thrived under her love and attention - I think he was missing her when we came home :) Can highly recommend for a trustworthy and reliable sitter, who goes the extra mile. The Animal Sitter takes the worry out of being away from your loved pet.”

“I can't recommend Carmen highly enough! It's clear how much she loves the dogs she looks after, and my dog absolutely adores her back! I really enjoy getting photo and video updates from his walks, and he is always happily tired out afterwards. Carmen is just a lovely, warm person, a great communicator. I know my dog is in the very best hands with her! xx”

“Sarah is absolutely fantastic, it's clear to see that she has a very genuine love for animals! Sarah went above and beyond by sending us frequent updates and lots of pictures, which reassured us that our cats were in great hands. When we returned from our holiday, they were all very happy and content, which showed us they received excellent care and attention whilst we were away. I would highly recommend Sarah to anyone looking for a cat sitter!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”

“Sue is incredible, she is so knowledgeable and helpful, always willing to reply to our silly questions and offer support and advice. Jake has been our first puppy and Sue really put us at ease with her kind demeanour and reassuring presence. Most importantly though she is AMAZING with Jake, he loves her to bits and he cant get out the door quick enough to go on an adventure with her! Constant contact, professional, wonderful service and a fantastic all round person, I cannot recommend Sue highly enough, she genuinely cares about Jake, even spoiling him out of her own pocket every now and again! 20 out of 10, if you need a dog walking service this is the one, although anyone will tell you it is so much more than that, Sue seems like an extension of the family!”

“Mark has been walking our little yet very energetic Westie Holly for the past 6 months every lunchtime, which has been a massive support for us following changes in working patterns. The reassurance that she has a friendly and consistent touch point during the day has been brilliant, particularly given she is our first puppy. Mark is superb with her and she absolutely loves spending time with him and is always excited when its walk time and restful and content afterwards! He is clearly passionate about dogs, reliable, extremely trustworthy and has developed her confidence no end both on walks and through the additional time spent with other dogs. The regular feedback on how she is progressing is great for us to gauge how she is and we couldn’t be happier and neither could Holly. Clearly much more than just a dog walker, his training tips and advice have been invaluable and the knowledge he can accommodate Holly during time away is excellent. A massive thank you Mark!
