βThe Viking accommodation is located just a short distance from the centre. Very quiet during the night. The gentleman that greeted me was very friendly. He explained about all the attractions of this lovely city, and then showed me a tourist map of how to get to them. All together a very positive experience.β
βAbsolutely excellent service. As a new dog owner, the ladies really put my mind at ease. My BC now stays over regularly and he is always well looked after. He's a bit of a fussy eater and they go out of their way to make sure he's eating properly. He loves going there and would definitely recommend.β
βExcellently located near to both the railway station and city centre. A lovely warm reception was given and our room was just what was needed. Very clean, comfy bed, fridge & refreshments and plenty of sockets to charge the gadgets! A lovely 5 minute walk along the river and youβre in the city.β
βSuper friendly owners, fantastic views, lots of exotic animals not forgetting the holiday homes which are 5 star plus. Thanks for having us both and our pet John and Angela Wβ
βWent for a meal with friends who live in the village on a Saturday night (29th November). What was on the menu sounded lovely and 3 of us ordered the Steak and Ale pie. Food arrived quickly thanks to Ben and his young assistant and was excellent, tasty, special mention to Marek the chef and good value for money. The hosts Ben and Keeley were great, witty and very friendly and who made our visit good fun. My husband and I entered as strangers and felt like we left as locals thanks to you. Hope to see you again next year.β
βFab food and beer. Staff were all friendly and attentive. Offering great service and value for money. I did not put a rating on the rooms as we did not stay there but I would imagine they were of as high a standard as the rest of the pub. We will definitely visit again 10/10.β
βWe had an amazing stay at Catgill Glamping Pods! From the moment we arrived, everything was clearly signed and beautifully presented, with a modern, welcoming reception. The pods are perfectly placed on a hillside overlooking the stunning Bolton Abbey village β the views are incredible. The pods themselves were spotless, stylish, and fully equipped with everything we needed. The hot tub was a real highlight β preheated and ready to go, with logs provided. We booked the over-50s deal and were pleasantly surprised with a free bottle of bubbly and a warm breakfast (fresh pain au chocolat and coffee) delivered right to our pod in the morning β such a lovely touch! The location is ideal for walks into Bolton Abbey and there are great cafes nearby. We highly recommend Catgill and will definitely be returningβ
βWe have stayed here for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the location, being in the town centre and the advantage of their own off street car park. We were looked after well at check-in by Wayne. He was working again at our 1st breakfast, and he shared the pubs' best ghost stories when we asked. Drea was working on our 2nd breakfast service and made time to chat with us at checkout. She is running a superb pub with rooms and we won't hesitate to stay there again next time we visit Skipton.β
βI wanted to leave a review after having such a positive experience here, meal was honestly one of the best Iβve had out in a while . Excellent food, service was brilliant big shout out to Lewis and David for making us so welcome and a big plus for me was the music not being played too loud. Comfortable space which is beautifully decorated. Thanks so much would highly recommend a visit hereβ
βTucked away in a charming little village just off the main road, The Pickled Pheasant is a quintessentially British eatery that offers not only a warm welcome but also a truly memorable experience. The journey there was half the joy β winding over a scenic hill reminiscent of classic England WRC rally routes, with breathtaking views that set the tone perfectly. Upon arrival, we found a convenient and tidy car park just across the road. The building itself is wonderfully traditional, brimming with character and charm. Inside, the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, with a distinctly English feel that made us feel right at home. Service was absolutely top-notch β friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm. Every member of staff was polite and accommodating, making our group of eight feel very well looked after. Itβs also worth noting that the venue appeared to be pet-friendly, with several locals enjoying their meals alongside their furry companions. We arrived in time for breakfast, which is served until noon β a lovely touch for those who enjoy a leisurely start to the day. We all opted for the classic Full English breakfast with sunny side up eggs, and it did not disappoint. The food arrived promptly, was piping hot, and every element of the dish was cooked to perfection. From the sausages to the mushrooms, everything was flavourful and satisfying. In short, The Pickled Pheasant is a delightful find β a place that combines traditional British hospitality with quality food and a picturesque setting. Highly recommended, 100%.β
βLocation - great, 10 mins walk to York. Staff - friendly and super efficient, a pleasure to see a team working so well on a very busy breakfast shift - much better than many large corporate chain hotels we have stayed in. Breakfast - decent breakfast with a good range of options. Room - good size, very clean and warm. Parking - very reasonable price for parking in York. Stay again - definitely. Value - very good. Recommend - absolutely. Overall - spot on, far better than many places we've stayed in.β
βHad a lovely meal Saturday evening, the chef accommodated us, even though we were very late(not our fault) only a few minutes before last food order, he produced a delicious curry for me and delicious fish and chips for my husband. So we decided to book for Sunday carvery. Absolutely delicious with an excellent choice of vegetables and trimmings with a good choice of meats, all very hot, very tasty, well presented by a friendly chefβ
βGreat location and atmosphere! We were here for a family birthday (party of 7) on a busy Sunday. Food was not only more than great but served altogether in a timely manner. Everyone including the kids enjoyed there food with enough choice to suit everyone. Staff were attentive and polite. Overall great experience!β
βI recently stayed at The Inn at Cheltenham Parade in Harrogate and had such a wonderful experience. The hotel rooms were beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and surprisingly spacious plenty of room to relax and unwind after exploring the town. The highlight, though, was the food. The restaurant serves absolutely delicious dishes, beautifully presented and full of flavour. Each meal felt special, whether it was breakfast, dinner, or a little something in between. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive, which made the whole stay feel extra inviting. If youβre looking for somewhere in Harrogate that combines comfort, style, and fantastic food, I couldnβt recommend The Inn at Cheltenham Parade more highly.β
βA real pleasure to be back at 3 Acres after covid and the fire! The rooms have greatly improved, they now are beautiful and very tastefully decorated. The bathroom too was beautiful ...but terribly cold. Lunch and dinner were excellent, service as well.β
βGreat little pub in a lovely village. Excellent food with good range to choose from. Good beers. Superb service. Highly recommend.β
βWe have had a delightful stay. A lovely independent hotel where every one tried their best to make sure we had everything we needed. The bedrooms were themed to plants. Ours was Papaya, and it was clean and very comfortable. A top class breakfast cooked to order. I can recommend the full English and Eggs Benedict. If we had stayed another day, I would have tried the salmon and scrambled eggs.β
βCharacterful and busy pub, with fab friendly staff and great food served with a smile at very reasonable prices. Also cosy and clean rooms. Not many car parking spaces, but i would stay again in spite of that. Overall... really enjoyable stay, thank you.β
βThis is an amazing place. Placed a in lovely location just outside York. The Glamping pod we had was very clean and tidy, nicely presented. All facilities were great, easily accessible. I only graded the service low, as we never saw any staff members on arrival, or departure, but I received lots of clear communication via email to direct us during our stay. We would definitely visit this place again.β
βWe have just used homefarm kennels for the first time and just wanted to thank you for making me feel so comfortable leaving my very much loved dogs with you. Iβve not kennelled my 4 and 5 year old dogs before and was so anxious. I googled and researched and rang a few and I was told by 2 other kennels that I would have to book a minimum of one week if it was august time. I was quite shocked because I didnβt need a week. When I spoke with yourselves you explained we could have as minimal days as we needed. I booked from Friday to Wednesday as we was getting married and wasnβt sure if we was also going to go away for a couple of nights. We decided not to go away and to pick the dogs up a few days early as weβd missed them with it being the first time theyβd been left. When we collected Bella and Theo they were so happy to see us but they were also loving the young girl that worked there. I could tell theyβd been well looked after and have been fine since being home. Just a little tired. I was also credited for the nights they didnβt stay which Iβm so surprised as it was our decision to get them early. It shows itβs not all about the money like the ones that wanted a minimum of a weeks booking!! Iβm am so happy and now we have booked our first family holiday in years because we now know we can leave our dogs and be confident they are looked after, thank you so much.β
βMy review is not about looking after my bearded collie Bubba. That is always fantastic, I sometimes feel he'd rather stay there than come hope to us ! No, my review is about the helpfulness and sensitivity of the staff. I recently returned from Croatia and was quite literally in bagggage reclaim when I got a call to say my father had died that morning. He had lived alone in Chester and I had to go there. Of course we were supposed to pick Bubba up and I knew the kennels were very busy. Nonetheless when I explained the circumstances they could not have been more helpful and sympathetic - Bubba could stay longer. That was enormously helpful and very much appreciated. They were equally accommodating (and equally busy) when they fitted him in when I had to go the funeral. Thank you North Rigton you are marvelous !β
βThis is the 2nd time I have taken my dog to Westmead kennels. The 1st time my dog was very anxious and nervous and stand offish with the staff, but they worked with misty(dog) as well as messaging myself and keeping me updated on her welfare and progress. I have picked misty up this morning from her 2nd stay, and she has absolutely loved it, gained weight and had walks and playtime every day. Could not recommend this kennels enough. Staff are lovely, kennels are clean and cleaned out on a regular basis. This is the only kennels I will ever take my dog!β
βKali loves going to visit Tracey and Jayne. She runs down the drive eager to join Finley the lovely Labrador. Kali has made many friends on her visits and walks. Whether staying for a day or longer we get lovely photos and updates. Tracey and Jayne really care about your pets. Understanding and considering their individual characters and needs. Itβs so reassuring to know your precious pet is with such a caring professional and lovely couple.β
βWe needed a tranquil space for 3 weeks during a refurbishment and Emma was very helpful ensuring everything was ready for us. The cottage is stunning; every small detail thought of; beautifully clean and stylish; log burner; spacious luxury bathrooms; very comfortable beds and high quality bed linen. Highly recommend β€οΈβ
βI cannot fault this accommodation it was just perfect for my 70th birthday family celebration. The rooms were so lovely and clean and it felt like it was home from home. The family particularly enjoyed the pool table. The location was also perfect it was close to shops and places to eat and it was a 4 min walk along the castle wall into the centre of York. I would definitely recommend this accommodation. The hosts were very accommodating as well and nothing was too much trouble. Hopefully we will be going back there again in the near future.β
βBoth our dogs Billy & Jack stay a few times a year. Jo and her team are fantastic. Jack had a spinal injury 4 years ago and once he was walking again albeit somewhat wobbley Jo was able to start taking him again. The boys love it. We are very reassured when they stayβ
βJames and the team are brilliant. Charlie is 5 months old and loves his visits here. Heβs a wriggly, naughty pup but they still managed a full groom during his last visit. Whenever we arrive heβs off, doesnβt look back. He canβt wait to see his doggy friends!β
βWeβve had the pleasure of staying at Harewood Holidays several times now, and each visit feels like coming home. The cottages are set in an incredibly peaceful location within the expansive grounds of Harewood House, surrounded by nature and overseen by on-site securityβoffering both serenity and a sense of safety. The many walking paths throughout the estate are perfect for long, relaxing strolls and a chance to truly unwind. Our two Labradors were always warmly welcomed and enjoyed their time just as much as we did. A heartfelt thank you goes to Felicity, whose communication has always been exceptionally kind, helpful, and professional. She truly makes the experience even more special. Weβre already looking forward to our next stay at Harewood Holidaysβa place that beautifully combines comfort, tranquillity, and genuine hospitality.β
βWe love staying at this little gem. Manya the owner is just lovely, a super host who makes your stay very comfortable , breakfast delicious. The location is excellent straight into Town, you are given a parking disc to enable you to park outside the B & B, Thank you Manya for making our stay a really happy one.β
β5* + | My Whippet was extremely well taken care of during his three week stay at Spire View, so much so I think he misses his kennel based holiday. I cannot recommend this kennel facility highly enough.β
