“A fantastic place for a leisurely dog walk! The views are beautiful and the path is well maintained! There’s a large car park which you pay £2.50 for 4 hours which is very good value! There’s a cafe serving a wide range of food and snacks, plus toilets by the reception. It’s great for dogs and there’s ply of bins along the lake path! There’s a playground and nature trail for kids to keep them interested! Plus a light railway too!”
“The gym is so airy, usually quiet with a decent range of weights and cardio machines. The gym instructor staff on duty are friendly and helpful”
“Noticed sign as driving past so stopped and had a walk. Lovely wooded and open areas, easy to follow path. Max found a stream, bmx track looks great too, friendly folk walking past. An actual car park too, I'll know for next time!”
“Lots of good walks to go on here..we took the one to the canal. Muddy so take your walking boots.”
“Expansive local woodlands and fields. Great for dog walking, wandering, cycling.”
“Lovely small private club.. very welcoming. Nice atmosphere. Good choice of beers. Wine expensive”
“Very pleasant staff that I spoke to. The whole place appears clean and tidy. The pool was nice and warm and the changing areas appear to have underfloor heating, which is great when you get out of the pool. The showers were also a good temperature, and lasted a reasonable amount of time. Plenty staff cleaning the locker area, regularly. I believe the car park was free for 3 hours. As of February 25, they're taking cash, which is a big bonus, as I'd much rather pay cash. Most leisure centres around here have gone cashless. I'll define going back here, even though it's not the closest leisure centre to me. I assume this is run by Leeds City Council - Great job! Miles better than any of the Kirklees facilities.”
“Lovely park, friendly regular people with their dogs, kids play area, enclosed garden to let dogs off if you prefer and path all the way around aswell as a field leading to a quarry which is also nice to walk the dogs around in nice weather”
“This is lovely, quiet part of Horsforth Park that tends to get overlooked. Especially colourful in Autumn.”
“Gorgeous hidden gem, beautiful spot for wildwater swimming, picnic and disposable bbq. Take a padded blanket to sit on though as beach in pebbley. Also swimming shoes would be a good shout as pebbley in water.”
“Had a great time here today. Got here for 10am and parked (£3.00). Two outdoor parks one free and one £3 for over 2s. Not quite sure why you need to pay for this park but anyway we did and the beach and water was great too. Says no paddling or inflatables but no one took notice.”
“It seems, in reading the rush of recent reviews and some past reviews that club staff are under pressure to get positive reviews for the club. I am sympathetic to this cause, many of the staff are friendly are regularly seen to be doing their best - as such, 5 stars. The mark of a lasting business in customer service is one that will learn from its shortcomings and actively listen to, and act on feedback from customers AND staff. I understand that a business needs money to operate, and I understand that raising member prices is often done reluctantly and by necessity. As other reviewers have mentioned, some things that a set of your members value have been taken away, business decisions that are necessary for continued operation may need better communication with your longstanding members. Consider offering a newsletter or some other practice in relation to club direction and the snagging list. I visit to relax, remove the some of the weight of the world and improve myself. Recently, every time I visit there is something wrong. Many of the machines I was looking to use out of action, the steam room - out of action or overcrowded. I keep to myself, but the changing rooms and steam room / sauna constantly have longstanding members complaining to other members about deteriorating facilities, removal of features (or staff), increase in prices and looking favourably at competing locations who will beat on price. Hard to switch off when this conversation is rampant, and they aren't wrong, I stay out of it, but I see more and more people swing this way as time goes on. The pool is massively valued among customers and of course with such an asset the business is going to leverage it to try and make money where possible, but the penny pinching adds up. Staff are clearly doing their best with what they are given, but sometimes it feels like they are between a rock and a hard place. 5* remains for now, I do hope that while management make the decisions they need to, that they find some way to communicate that with their customers on the direction of the club. Radio silence and stretching things thin is going to go one way. Hopefully the new members these reviews are desperate to encourage will allow the club to reinvest for the benefit of all members..”
“Nice size park for taking our little dog for a walk. Plenty of seats and the park is well cared for, the garden areas always look nice and the kids play area is currently being updated.”
“Beautiful park with a play area. It's got a duck pond with plenty of ducks/swans. The ducks are always happy to be fed! There is a short walk up to Bagshaw museum.”
“Good leisure centre and swimming baths. I learned to swim here in 1976. It's been modernised a lot but essentially the same pool.”
“Beautiful place with some very tiny little ducklings”
“We went there for my nieces husband's birthday party, we had a great time, and the prices for alcohol were brilliant, we would recommend it to anyone wanting a party, spacious and welcoming.”
“Good entertainment on Saturday nights”
“Good stadium for women's Rugby World Cup. Food and drink good, but as expected a little more pricey that outside the venue.”
“I've been going to this gym for over two months now, and it's been a great experience! The classes are varied and enjoyable, and the timetable works really well with my schedule. The trainers are knowledgeable, supportive, and very approachable, which makes a big difference. The reception staff are always friendly and helpful, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the moment you walk in. The only area where improvement is needed is the cleanliness of the gym but aside from that, it’s a fantastic little place that I’m really happy to be a part of. Highly recommend checking it out!”
“There is something for everyone here! A large swimming baths with baby pool, shallow area and deep area as well as a large water slide. A modern fully equipped gym. Tennis courts Squash courts A huge hall for sports and activities A cafe Function room for parties And more. We currently attended my daughter's dance competition here and staff were very friendly and accommodating. We will be coming here in the summer holidays to swim!”
“Jccs tennis centre. Great coaches. Perfect waiting area. Plenty of tennis classes. Great opportunity for kids beginners. Nice and warm inside. A lot of classes for adults. I love this tennis club. Recommend it strongly. Great car parking area.”
“This is a nice place for many physical exercises and activities. I go there regularly for playing and sport activities. The cost for membership is quite high for external people. The EDGE needs to come up with a different plan. People really struggle to pay for its facilities and they don't use all of them. For me, the next plan should be to have a membership plan for each facility and keep adding on top of them. They have a gym and many other facilities for example, squash, swimming, basketball, badminton, indoor football, cricket, climbing etc. booking required for any of these ones. They also gave a nice place for socializing and if you wish to sit and chit chat. Parking is a big issue! And it is paid. Although, it is a big parking area, it is also used by Leeds University people and hence super busy all the time and hard to find a parking space. Because of the parking cost, it makes the visit even more expensive for external visitors. Other than that, it has wheelchair accessibility. 6 electric cars charging socket and all functioning. If you are lucky you might find one of them free. People are nice and friendly. They do have gym or swimming trainers as well.”
“Just had our first hour play at ferrybridge dog Park, we have three large dogs that have a lot of energy. They had a fantastic time. It's a steep incline to the entrance of the park with room for a couple of cars, key coded gate for security which you get instructions for on payment. Picnic benches, water, poo bags available, toys all over the park Inc a sand pit and hard plastic tunnel. Park was clean and tidy. Loved our visit and will be using again soon.”
“I would highly recommend going to Total Fitness I went today and it was my first time going to gym was super nervous first, but I got showed around by Harry and he was lovely then I had a 1-1 session with Luke for an hour and he was fantastic made me feel so comfortable, it was the best workout ever, I can’t even feel my legs haha and now I’m really excited to go back to the gym. I’ve signed up now for a 12 month membership I would definitely go to total fitness and if you’re new to the gym don’t be nervous as they treat you will respect and don’t judge you at all!”
“Very friendly and helpful team, facilities are very clean, only issue I had was lack of signage/information about where the lockers and showers as it was my first visit and has two yong children with me, but now I know the next visit will be a lot easier. The swimming lessons for kids are very well organised and instructors very knowledgeable and friendly.”
“Suzie at the gym reception provided exceptional service! She was friendly, knowledgeable, and helped me with all my questions, even securing a better rate for me. Her patience in assisting me with the app and booking was greatly appreciated. Highly recommended!”
“Not a bad place has nice swimming pool and fitness facilities. The staff are very good and respectful. Definitely worth a visit.”
“Very lovely gym and exercise centre for older guys. There are modern exercise equipments for elderly people”
“Ithink this is my 9th better gym in terms of space and equipment definitely top 3, nice clean modern facility with technogym equipment, dumbbells up to 40kg good mixture of fixed machines and plate loaded machines, good amount of cable machines, as well as good amount of cardio equipment. With and leisure centre health club it’s not just the Gym, here there’s a clip and climb, 5g pitches and a 25 metre pool really nice facility. Good job”
