“Good friendly well equipped gym. Adults only after 5.30pm can get very busy 4pm-6pm. Lots of classes available to join. Also have swimming pools, one for adults, one for children.”
“Christmas swim deals... Warm water ( I was told that due to this being a children's training pool, it is warmer than the others!) Good showers Just not sure where the artic wind comes from in the changing rooms. But overall... This is a great place for a 'normal swimming pool'. I don't want slides etc, just to teach the kids to swim...”
“Fantastic pools, the staff are lovely and helpful! I love that they have the main pool and the studio pool for the younger kids. They also have a fun splash area with toys and fountains for the little ones! The studio pool is always warmer than the public, which makes it perfect for kids. There's also a great number of lockers - we never struggle to find one to use. The gym is also nice, it's small but it has everything you'd need as a regular gym attender.”
“Lovely park - often pass through on my way to/from different commitments. It's been made nicer and more interesting since work has been done to rewild it - I see much more wildlife there these days (nice for planet, nice for me!)”
“Go here very often as for the comments on rude staff never had any complaints and the life guards are always checking on everyone yeah changing rooms can smell but it's expected at a poolside I've been in when it's getting cleaned, overall a great experience.”
“Wonderful space on our doorstep. Feels like you are out in the countryside.”
“The leisure centre itself is great but the road network surrounding it is not for for purpose. I have just spent 40 minutes queueing for the roundabout from 17.10 to 17.50. My son only had the last 10 minutes of his swimming lesson which started at 17.30. Leeds city council really needs to address this problem”
“A lovely area with lots of trees and footpaths. There were plenty of wild flowers just beginning to open. Lots of footpaths with dog walkers.”
“Fantastic gym to workout in, the staff are nice and gym kept tidy & sauna is fantastic. It’s only ever untidy during busy hours. Mornings and Night times are the best time to go”
“Wonderful afternoon of relaxation and pampering. On arrival the young gentleman on reception was fab. Kind and most helpful explaining about what to expect, booking us in, showing us where to go snd generally just really welcoming. Swimming pool and steam room were great then on to the relaxation room. We went a little early so we had time to enjoy the warming beds. Room was nice (speakers a bit tinny with the music which buzzed a smidge). Then into our treatment room. Ladies were really respectful and welcoming. We had a Swedish massage and a facial. Absolutely fantastic! So relaxing and really thorough. Couldn't fault my day at all. Finished it off with one of the cafes smoothies. Also tasty. Thank you all.”
“Fantastic they make it so much fun as well as learning highly recommend”
“Still quite wet from the flooding, I use this as part of my walk into and out of the city centre”
“Landed my Helicopter in this park when I was visiting.”
“I could not recommend this gym highly enough. I’ve been a member now for nearly a year and initially signed up with some trepidation. As someone who is relatively unfit and plus size joining a new gym can be daunting. I’m very grateful to say I’ve once been pressured into signing up for PT (which has been an uncomfortable occurrence in past gyms) nor once been made to feel uncomfortable or out of place by either the staff or fellow facility users. The gym, changing rooms, pool and showers are spotlessly clean and well maintained and organised. There’s always a friendly face or someone willing to help or answer any questions. I’ve recently started attending some of the classes which I’ve not been brave enough to do in other gyms: water aerobics, Pilates and today my first kettle bells class. Each class allows for a beginner friendly option and the instructors have been so supportive and encouraging. I’ve felt confident and comfortable from the off with every activity I’ve engaged in here. Thanks all, you’re all doing a wonderful job!”
“I had a great experience at my visit to the darrington on Thursday. All of the food was enjoyable and a special mention to the assistant manager Molly who who went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. She was extremely friendly and welcoming and provided an excellent service. We will definitely be returning.”
“It's a fantastic facility that provides friends, couples, families, and colleagues the opportunity to bond through various sports activities.”
“I love Gary's spin classes, Jolanta and also Natalia's yoga sessions and Vicky's Pilates classes.”
“All staff at holt park active are helpful. To offer constructive feedback they help with membership issues. Advice on which membership. The staff are never ill mannered and when they are not busy will be chatty and friendly.”
“Very friendly atmosphere. My husband and I had a warm wax massage and a facial. It was lovely and relaxing in a calming treatment room. There is also a relaxing room to relax whilst awaiting and after your treatment. We then went for a swim, sauna and steam room. Excellent day - thank you.”
“I only signed up this week so it’s difficult to comment on what it’s going to be like long term, but so far? What a place, honestly I’ve looked forward to coming every single day, class gym despite it being upstairs and relatively small, modern and up to date, friendly yet professional staff and the pool facilities are brilliant. At this price point Roko is a pure hidden gem in York.”
“The gym has been newly renovated and it’s spot on, really friendly crowd & good kit. Extra shoutout to the absolute gent who helped & showed me around the gym (apologise I’ve forgot your name). He said he’s usually on the pool but couldn’t have been nicer & more helpful. 10/10 thank you!”
“Just joined DW great gym! Staff very friendly and helpful. The gym equipment is very modern and lots of choice. The changin rooms are very clean and spacious.the gym is also clean with paper towels and spray to clean the equipment after use. The atmosphere is great too, no posers which is good, all shapes and sizes. The reviews I saw on here do not match up with what they are saying! I joined the selby DW from Leeds DW and was a little apprehensive because of the reviews on here. I was shocked because the staff are friendly and the gym is lovely. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone.”
“Taking my son swimming before he could even sit upright was a cherished memory. And thinking about the fifteen years of my attendance of serious weekly swimming sessions nonstop combined with a great attitude of staff, making Dewsbury Sport Centre a memorable place for me. A great sport centre, not a huge one which makes it a non crowded place.”
