“What a gem! Not just a micro bar. Authentic, delicious Sri Lankan home cooking. We're lucky to have this in Beeston. I had mainly the veggie dishes but the chicken was lovely too, and I'm told the mutton dish was also gorgeous. First visit and we'll be back! The food is cooked fresh on the day, you can tell it's made with love, and if you like, or want to try, Sri Lankan food, you must visit!”

“Went for a bottomless brunch as usual place was fully booked and I'm glad it was! Tacos were awesome and the cocktails on the brunch menu were far beyond what I had expected. The staff were also very friendly and passionate. Would definitely go again for a brunch/some tacos and or cocktails! Best Pina Colada I've ever had!”

“Popped in to have a drink, and had a great time. Staff were lovely and really helpful, drinks were perfect (I had a non-alcoholic beer as I was driving and my wife had a lovely merlot) and the decor was cool. Cracking atmosphere and will definitely be back for the Sunday lunch and live music. Edit: Went back for Sunday dinner and drinks. The food was outstanding, the band very entertaining and the atmosphere reflected that. Thoroughly recommended.”

“Highly recommended. Great service, great food and nice decor. We had the afternoon meal offer 2 course. Both had Rump steak, was offered chips but swapped for vegetables, well accommodating. All very lovely. Under £50 including two drinks. Was way too full for any desert. Going through a renovation adding solar panels, with zero disturbance. (Nearly Done) Loads of parking, close to M1 and A52.”

“Had a lovely meal at The Butchers. We had a ‘Mega Roast’ and it was amazing! The meat was incredible and the unlimited trimmings ensured you had enough food (and some going spare). We will definitely be back. The service was great- Holly was warm, welcoming and attentive. All staff were fantastic. 5/5 would recommend.”

Ziggy served me and he clearly takes pride in his work, and it shows in the attention to detail and quality of the food they create. From the perfectly cooked eggs to the crispy bacon and delicious sausages every bite was a true delight. But it wasn't just the food that made this breakfast special - Ziggy's warm and welcoming personality added an extra touch of charm to the experience. They clearly love what they do, and it shows in the way they interact with customers. Overall, I would highly recommend Lounge bar to anyone looking for a top-notch meal and a friendly atmosphere. “Had a fantastic meal at Hickory’s Smokehouse in Nottingham last Saturday night with friends! The food was genuinely impressive — hands down the best BBQ I’ve had from anywhere in the UK. The meats were cooked perfectly, full of flavour, and had that authentic smoky taste that’s so hard to find done right over here unless I'm doing it on my BBQ at home!! The staff were brilliant too — super friendly, attentive, and brought a fun, relaxed vibe to the whole experience. It really made the visit even more enjoyable. Definitely planning to return soon. If you’re into BBQ and haven’t been yet, you’re missing out!!”

“Despite being really busy they managed to seat us at a comfortable table. They advised was going to be 30 mins which we were happy at, and it was pretty much bang on 30 mins when it arrived and it was well worth the wait. The staff were very pleasant and food was spot on. “The food is delicious. It's a gastropub which means that the food is not the classic pub food but food of high quality. The cheap version of a fine dining cuisine and service. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is warm and the menu is simple and clear. The starters is something that you should definitely try, it is the best thing on the menu. My favourites are the following: sesame halloumi ( I could have that every single day, the honey drizzle goes so well with the sesame coated halloumi), the crayfish bisque ( a delicious luxury served in a unique way) and last but not least the arancini (delicious,delicious,delicious). The Tailors Arms has its own free parking but there is a bus stop 30 seconds away and a tram stop 2 minutes away. Wilford is a very quiet area however the Taylor's Arms is on the main road, next to the co-operative supermarket.”

“Small lil micropub with very friendly and cheerful staff, a good choice of beers and spirits to choose from, with small bites to go alongside, and a variety of board games to play while you’re there. They’re located right on Haydn Road, with shops and restaurants beside it. A bit of catchy tunes in the background as well. In short, a fantastic place to be at, with some good vibes and friendly faces - a welcome addition to Sherwood; would definitely be returning!”

“16th October 2024, we visited the Old Black Horse, and it was the Wednesday Night Pie night. We had a really good night. The price was fantastic. You can also order off the normal menu. The pies are first-rate and as good as any I have tasted before. The staff are really nice being professional and very friendly at the same time. We have been a number of times and had the Carvary. This is one of the tastest I have tasted, and the price is resealable.”

“10outof10 from start to finish We went for the tasting menu which was just perfect Every dish was so delicious and well presented from the sourdough bread (the marmite butter was divine) to finish off with the waygu steak but the chicken pate was something extra.. by far the best dish I had in my life!!! Big shout out to Chris which looked after us so well and make us feel so comfortable and btw the wine he recommended us was spot on.. “Wow, this place is amazing. This is a hidden gem , ever so quirky with great food at a fantastic price. The Sunday roast dinner is value for money and is amazing the best I have had in years. Well done to the owner for making it such a lovely experience, the staff are amazing and location is really tranquil. We enjoyed our Sunday dinner so much we went back the next few days, the curry night was brilliant and the steaks, mixed grill are awesome. You have to check this place out if you are in the area.”

“I would strongly recommend going Bugman's. Good food, ale, and atmosphere! Love the new renovations. The place looks awesome! However, it would be better with a flight option for the themed ales, stronger ale options (Bugman's is supposed to be the strongest), and spicier wings for the slayer challenge (or a spicier tier with a better reward). I really liked the variety of options on the menu. I will always try a new take on chicken and waffles. It was quite innovative but definitely dry. It's worth saying that we went on 05/04/2025 the first day of reopening after renovations. So there are probably things that will get sorted out shortly after. We are from America so we don't get to enjoy this experience often but we can't wait to go again!”

“Absolutely brilliant pub. The landlord and landlady, jim and Kelly are lovely people who go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. There is always something happening from live bands to comedy nights, quiz nights, even fitness sessions upstairs in the function room. The food menu is great and value for money. Really I dont have a bad thing to say at all.”
