βA small family owned and operated hotel that's just a short walk from restaurants, pubs, a casino or the river. The owners go out of their way to make sure your stay is enjoyable. You really feel like one of the family when you stay at the Thameside hotel, not just a room number with a credit card like at the big chains. I highly recommend the Thameside hotel to anyone visiting the Reading area.β
βI was dubious about spending a night here with my family as some reviews were bad. However I really donβt understand some of them. We have gone away for a night and this was the closest and cheapest hotel so we thought why not. We came in and the receptionist was nice and helpful. Our room was a family room on the second floor at the back of the building (room 203) and it was really nice. It was clean, stocked well with tea, the sheets and bedding were clean as my wife has a thing for checking. There were towels and body wash. We were really impressed! The beds were comfy and they had extra pillows. I can say for Β£64 a night you really canβt go wrong. Would stay here again.β
βI come regularly to visit my children and stay here. The rooms are a little dated, but donβt let this put you off because the beds are super comfy as they have recently changed them all. I had a fantastic nights sleep. The staff are always very welcoming, helpful and polite.Parking is great and I think the price is extremely reasonable for what you get here. This is always my first choice when I come back to Bracknell.β
βMy partner stayed in the hotel the first weekend of August and it was hot so having a fan in the room summed up the place - it was a really nice thoughtful touch. Excellent reception with friendly staff. The place is spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. It is competitive on price and it has a free car park. It's a short walk to Reading West station and Oxford Road, with it's shops and cafes, is literally at the end of the road. For my partner there is the added bonus that her son and his young family live two minutes walk away so she's planning to revisit before too long.β
βVisited the bar several evenings running, as there was great football coverage. The bar was very comfortable and welcoming, warm, and the beer was great! Will definitely be visiting again.β
βStranded near Reading with a travel fridge and a dog, desperately seeking the location of a hotel that would accommodate us. Enter Ibis. They told us over the phone just to show up because there's plenty of room. Night staff were super friendly. Very warm reception and free hot drinks. Generously sized room, as others have mentioned. Breakfast was included in the price, and morning staff were also very helpful and courteous. My wife needed to sleep off the effort of the night before but they still happily made me a bacon butty for her (breakfast is until 9). But checkout wasn't until 12 so we still had time to snooze. And even after all of that, midday reception was kind enough to put our bags into the luggage room and even plugged in our fridge! Nobody ever said no to us the whole time; always don't worry, they'll sort it out. Even the housekeeping staff were patient and helpful, and we merely had to navigate their Henry hoover in the corridor! You may notice the place could do with a dab of paint or a couple of carpet nails here and there but I challenge anyone to find this a reason to complain after such great service at such a good price. If you go, remember to be courteous and you will be well met in kind. Oh, and don't accidentally go to the big Ibis in town, or the Ibis Styles on Duke Street. Apologies to the night staff at Duke Street because we thought we had spoken to them on the phone but they don't allow dogs!β
βi have stayed in the hotel for a few days and it has been absolutely fabulous. I have experienced great facilities and the service from the staff has been amazing. i paid a good price which i didnt expect too much from but the room has all your essentials and i have nothing to complain about. I saw many bad reviews which felt as if they were absolute nonsense and that price you pay suits the accommodation. Ill definetely stay here again. Thank youβ
βRooms are nice and big great showers, plenty of parking easy to find....booking and service was great.β
βVery friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms , lots of parking . Pub next door serves food.β
βI see many comments the place is dated. Maybe so but still very presentable. Room was clean and came with balcony overlooking the lake which was great. Staff have been very friendly and the breakfast was good as was the evening meal. So dated maybe but many more years of service this hotel is capable off.β
βCouldn't get a room en route from Reading to Bournemouth for under Β£160. This place has one for Β£57. I was dubious but had to do it. Thank God I did. Nice little run of rooms, basic, a little dated but clean and equip with everything you would need. View from my room over the church, TV, tea and coffee, good shower, desk and chair and two beds. Looking forward to breakfast.β
βI had a fantastic stay at this hotel and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for comfort and relaxation. From the moment I arrived, the front desk staff were warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. Check-in was fast and smooth, and I immediately felt well taken care of. One of the highlights of my stay was the swimming pool and spa areaβimmaculately clean, peaceful, and the perfect place to unwind. The Jacuzzi was especially relaxing after a long day of travel. Whether youβre in town for business or leisure, itβs a great way to de-stress. Another huge plus was the free parking, which made things super convenient. Itβs a small detail that makes a big difference. What really stood out overall was the friendly customer service. Every staff member I encountered, from reception to housekeeping, was genuinely kind and attentive. Itβs clear that the hotel values guest satisfaction and puts in the effort to make your stay enjoyable. Highly recommendedβIβll definitely be back!β
βHad a short stay whilst working at the festival. Location is a great spot. Everyone there was helpful and welcoming. The room was perfect and had TV, shower, sink and tea/coffee facilities. Would stay again.β
βManager organised my stay after some confusion on my part with dates. Martin was so helpful and stayed in email contact until it was corrected. Receptionist (didn't get her name) was fantastically friendly and effective, she had lots to deal with and got it all done in a very easy manner. The room was clean and tidy. I had a full sized bath, it felt so luxurious compared to the shower or small baths you get elsewhere. No cafe or restaurant on site but again the receptionist was very well informed and had plenty of suggestions before I checked Google. I would definitely stay again for the customer service and room quality. I was too busy enjoying it to take any pictures.β
βFor the very cheap price I can't believe what other people who have reviewed were expecting. You get what you pay for! I can't fault my stay other than a confusing check-in and check-out system. There's a communal kitchen with TONS of free food, milk, juice and stuff, and the WiFi is included in the price and is of sufficient speed. For these reasons the price is even better! I do agree that the walls are paper thin, but overall for the price I think this place was very good!β
βHaving been staying here for sometime now, I can't fault any of the staff that work here. Everyone is extremely professional and very friendly and have always been helpful to me. Rooms are basic, but very clean. Cleaners are always around and supply clean towels, tea and coffee etc when required. Excellent locationβ
βLovely hotel in a countryside setting. Staff and management very attentive. Had an all inclusive package including breakfast and buffet style evening meal and couldn't fault it (the lamb tagine was very tasty). Also dog friendly too! Will definitely book again.β
βI stayed here with a group and we were all a little worried because of the other reviews. We were subsequently pleasantly surprised at the fact that the hotel was actually lovely. It may not be the most modern place I've ever stayed but the beds are comfortable, the rooms are relatively spacious and the facilities are great. The staff are also very friendly and accommodating.β
βThe service was excellent, stayed recently for a festival event and was delighted with the local receptionists knowledge of the area. Bar area is also lovely and great value like the rest of the hotel, overall brilliant area and great value! Thanksβ
βVery friendly staff not the best room but overall itβs not the worstβ
βFantastic experience stopping in for lunch. The OXBO burger was probably the best burger I have eaten recently, the addition of rarebit made for a delicious twist on a conventional cheese burger. Highly recommended. Very friendly and helpful staff. The staff were attentive, but not intrusively so. I felt looked after. The cafe has a lovely calm atmosphere, but not boringly so. There were a few customers in giving it a good vibe, but without being hectic - I didn't wait long for service or for my food to arrive. It would be an ideal place for someone looking to have a working lunch, and there are spaces set out with power outlets for those with busy working schedules. Very conveniently located a few minutes away from Green Park, making for a nice change to eating in the company cafe if you are working nearby.β
βWe came for afternoon tea, just as they open the bistro for it on a Saturday. The lady who was serving us was incredibly friendly, representing everything customer service should be. The tea itself was great, the sweet treats were very tasty, the scones warm and fluffy, but maybe the sandwiches couldβve been slightly better. Overall, it was a great experience, we will 100% come back soon!β
βA friendly welcome and great atmosphere greets you at the Pub and Grill at Village Farnborough. The menu is great with lots of selection. A full bar including cocktails too. There is also dart boards for some games. A great space to grab a bite and meet friends or take the familyβ
βI had a great stay at this apartment, it was clean, well-maintained, and set in a serene environment. The property manager was responsive and helpful throughout my stay, ensuring everything went smoothly. I have previously stayed at another one of their properties and had an equally positive experience, which speaks to their consistency in quality and service. I will definitely recommend their apartments and will be booking again the next time I am in Readingβ
βOutstandingοΌextremely professional, efficient, patient, making the whole process smooth and stress-free. We couldnβt be happier with the service! As first-time buyers in the UK, we feel so lucky to have met such an excellent agent like David. He was incredibly professional, efficient, and genuinely caring throughout the entire process. Compared with other estate agencies we dealt with, David stood out for his honesty, patience, and dedication to making sure everything went smoothly. He always kept us informed, answered all our questions quickly, and helped us secure our new home much faster than we expected. We truly appreciate his hard work and would highly recommend him and the team to anyone buying a home!β
