“i have stayed in the hotel for a few days and it has been absolutely fabulous. I have experienced great facilities and the service from the staff has been amazing. i paid a good price which i didnt expect too much from but the room has all your essentials and i have nothing to complain about. I saw many bad reviews which felt as if they were absolute nonsense and that price you pay suits the accommodation. Ill definetely stay here again. Thank you”

“My partner stayed in the hotel the first weekend of August and it was hot so having a fan in the room summed up the place - it was a really nice thoughtful touch. Excellent reception with friendly staff. The place is spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. It is competitive on price and it has a free car park. It's a short walk to Reading West station and Oxford Road, with it's shops and cafes, is literally at the end of the road. For my partner there is the added bonus that her son and his young family live two minutes walk away so she's planning to revisit before too long.”

“Having been staying here for sometime now, I can't fault any of the staff that work here. Everyone is extremely professional and very friendly and have always been helpful to me. Rooms are basic, but very clean. Cleaners are always around and supply clean towels, tea and coffee etc when required. Excellent location”

“A small family owned and operated hotel that's just a short walk from restaurants, pubs, a casino or the river. The owners go out of their way to make sure your stay is enjoyable. You really feel like one of the family when you stay at the Thameside hotel, not just a room number with a credit card like at the big chains. I highly recommend the Thameside hotel to anyone visiting the Reading area.”

“Manager organised my stay after some confusion on my part with dates. Martin was so helpful and stayed in email contact until it was corrected. Receptionist (didn't get her name) was fantastically friendly and effective, she had lots to deal with and got it all done in a very easy manner. The room was clean and tidy. I had a full sized bath, it felt so luxurious compared to the shower or small baths you get elsewhere. No cafe or restaurant on site but again the receptionist was very well informed and had plenty of suggestions before I checked Google. I would definitely stay again for the customer service and room quality. I was too busy enjoying it to take any pictures.”

“Had a short stay whilst working at the festival. Location is a great spot. Everyone there was helpful and welcoming. The room was perfect and had TV, shower, sink and tea/coffee facilities. Would stay again.”

“Couldn't get a room en route from Reading to Bournemouth for under £160. This place has one for £57. I was dubious but had to do it. Thank God I did. Nice little run of rooms, basic, a little dated but clean and equip with everything you would need. View from my room over the church, TV, tea and coffee, good shower, desk and chair and two beds. Looking forward to breakfast.”

“For the very cheap price I can't believe what other people who have reviewed were expecting. You get what you pay for! I can't fault my stay other than a confusing check-in and check-out system. There's a communal kitchen with TONS of free food, milk, juice and stuff, and the WiFi is included in the price and is of sufficient speed. For these reasons the price is even better! I do agree that the walls are paper thin, but overall for the price I think this place was very good!”

“Lovely hotel in a countryside setting. Staff and management very attentive. Had an all inclusive package including breakfast and buffet style evening meal and couldn't fault it (the lamb tagine was very tasty). Also dog friendly too! Will definitely book again.”

“I stayed here with a group and we were all a little worried because of the other reviews. We were subsequently pleasantly surprised at the fact that the hotel was actually lovely. It may not be the most modern place I've ever stayed but the beds are comfortable, the rooms are relatively spacious and the facilities are great. The staff are also very friendly and accommodating.”

“General thoughts Went on a work trip and stayed a day and a night. This place was fantastic. Looked as good as the pictures suggested. Overall, really clean as well. I think the price was reasonable too. Would describe it as a sort of studio apartment when I booked for the doublebed single room option (can't recall exactly what it was called). Rather than give you a physical key, you'll have to download an app on your phone to get your apartment key to unlock your door. If you rely solely on mobile data it can sometimes be a bit laggy but once you get access to their wifi it works fine. And you can connect to your apartment's wifi from outside your door. Bedroom Nice double bed with decent amount of space to walk around the bed. Had a functioning heater at the foot of the bed. Had a closet to hang your clothes with plenty of hangers to use. New sheets fitted and they provided large clean towels to use if required with smaller hand towels as well. Had a screen to close off the bedroom from the hallway and the living room. Toilet Sparkly clean toilet, shower and floor. They provided shampoo, soap and hand soap for washing. Plenty of toilet roll as well. Ventilation system was good, so didn't leave the place feeling humid. Good water pressure with the shower and good temperature range as well. Living room + Kitchen Kitchen had full sets of clean utensils and cutlery to use. Dishwashing liquid provided as well. You could cook using their pots, pans on their induction cooktop. They also had a large microwave and toaster to use. Living room had a large tv and a portable air-conditioner. Also had a dining room which could seat 4. Sofa was large enough to fit 3 or you could sleep on it if you want. Store cabinet Had an iron and ironing board as well as washing machine. Overall, very pleased with the place and would consider staying there again if I needed to.”

“Fantastic experience stopping in for lunch. The OXBO burger was probably the best burger I have eaten recently, the addition of rarebit made for a delicious twist on a conventional cheese burger. Highly recommended. Very friendly and helpful staff. The staff were attentive, but not intrusively so. I felt looked after. The cafe has a lovely calm atmosphere, but not boringly so. There were a few customers in giving it a good vibe, but without being hectic - I didn't wait long for service or for my food to arrive. It would be an ideal place for someone looking to have a working lunch, and there are spaces set out with power outlets for those with busy working schedules. Very conveniently located a few minutes away from Green Park, making for a nice change to eating in the company cafe if you are working nearby.”

“A friendly welcome and great atmosphere greets you at the Pub and Grill at Village Farnborough. The menu is great with lots of selection. A full bar including cocktails too. There is also dart boards for some games. A great space to grab a bite and meet friends or take the family”

“We came for afternoon tea, just as they open the bistro for it on a Saturday. The lady who was serving us was incredibly friendly, representing everything customer service should be. The tea itself was great, the sweet treats were very tasty, the scones warm and fluffy, but maybe the sandwiches could’ve been slightly better. Overall, it was a great experience, we will 100% come back soon!”
