“Booked in for the Pie and a Pint night. £14.50 each was really good value as the pies, chips and peas are excellent. We had the Venison and Red Wine along with the Lamb and Mint. The pastry in both was great along with the sides and the gravy. All good all, a great meal at a great price!”

The Cavendish is the perfect place to unwind after exploring the nearby historic sites, hiking or strolling through the local charming towns. The staff were welcoming and attentive, always ready with local recommendations - especially Stephen who was extremely nice and very helpful. The setting is so peaceful. “We had a fabulous overnight stay at the Pebley Inn. It has a lovely deck outside overlooking the countryside, luckily we had a lovely autumn night to make the most of it. We were greeted at check in by the lovely Olivia, it was such a warm friendly welcome and she continued to look after us all night. We stay in a lot of pubs on our travels and don't normally get such amazing service. Food delicious. Beers kept well. Warm atmosphere in the pub. Room well equipped. The whole night was excellent.”

“My daughter got married here recently and it was an absolutely amazing day. She married outside in the beautiful gardens which was so lovely. The food was absolutely delicious and the venue room looked fantastic. The evening food of pie and peas was delicious. The staff were lovely and very attentive to all our needs. We stayed the night the rooms very nice they were clean and the beds very comfortable and to round our stay off a great breakfast too.”

“I come down 4-6 time a year for work and have always stayed at the Lodge (approx 8yrs). This is a small family run business. They always go the extra mile and make me feel so welcome. Food portions are great and cooked to perfection. There is a small car park and one Electric hook up. They have a nice little garden area where you can sit outside on a good day. Definitely recommend it.”

“I have been staying with the pastures hotel for around 2/3 year through work purpose. I have to travel around 2/3 hours sometimes to get there, The staff are nothing but warm and friendly, they are always happy to help and super approachable. The rooms are always made up lovely, I have been fortunate to stay in a few of the suites, last one being the bridal suite which was absolutely amazing. Sometimes I can be there for a few weeks at a time, I have always felt the staff were very hospitable which is reassuring when you’re away for a while in an area you’re not totally familiar with. I’d like to mention that Sharon and Michelle in particular are a credit to the hotel and have always been super welcoming!”

“Hidden little gem. Room that we had was clean modern and fresh with a good smart TV and even thermostat control for heating. Check in was easy through the link to collect the keys. Tea and coffee, extra comfortable bed and pillows. Really nice place I have stopped in many many rooms and this is up there with the best of them for comfort and safety. Also has its own private secure car park.”

“My partner and I have just had our wedding ceremony and party at the Bateman's mill, I must say, everything set up absolutely perfectly, we even had a huge hog roast on the spit, the function room set up was planned perfectly with space for the singers and room to shake the tail feather. Great choice of drinks to suit everyone my person favourite being the Boston American gentleman and a good choice of spirits and soft drinks . “My parents were over from Ireland and we wanted to give them their first Afternoon tea experience. We all really enjoyed the food! The venue is lovely and cosy with a nice chilled atmosphere. You can also eat outside on a sunny day if you want. My 4 year old son was with us and they made him his own sandwich and gave him a scone free of charge. We had a lovely chat with the manager/owner at the end. Overall we had a lovely experience!!!”

“A hidden gem. Every member of staff we encountered were so friendly and helpful. The rooms were pristine with snow white bedding and bathrobes. The bathroom was very spacious with a large shower. We had dinner and the meals we had were very large and tasty. Would definitely stay again and would highly recommend it .”

“Excellent location for access to trams, taxi, public transport. Great staff and apartment, clean, comfortable, modern, lovely shower. Staff very helpful and accommodating. Had no parking issues with permit. Visiting from Canada to family so very easy to travel from here to different locations around the area. Some noise from trams but if you want convenience for shopping, eating out, take away, bars, etc this place is great. Trams stop at midnight. Used earplugs for sleeping and had no issues at all. Thanks to all staff for making our trip so easy. We will definitely be back.”

“Came here for my husband's birthday recently, having not been for a long time, and it was just as good as we remembered. The Let's Do Lunch menu is such good value for food of this quality.
