“I booked a solo dining experience on the kitchen bench at the end of August. This was my first foray into fine dining and I was not disappointed. From the moment I was greeted at the door, I was made to feel incredibly welcome. The taster menu and whole kitchen bench experience was just wonderful. It was more relaxed than I was expecting which suited me perfectly! The food was exceptional - I was presented with a wide range of dishes which gave me the opportunity to try things that I hadn't before and I enjoyed every moment. Whilst the food itself was wonderful, it was the restaurant and kitchen staff that really took my visit to another level. Everyone was very warm and friendly, not to mention attentive. I was looked after incredibly well, especially by John's team in the kitchen. Thank you for such a fantastic experience and I definitely plan to return.”

“I stayed here for 1 night on a business trip and was not disappointed. The owners, Richard and Kerry are outstanding and cant do enough for you. The room I was in was very large, had a comfy bed, sitting table, living area and great shower room. There was fresh bread, milk and fruit in the room which made it so easy for breakfast in the morning. The only disappointment I had was not getting there earlier for a good look around :-). Highly recommended!”

“Recently visited for a meal with friends. We didn't stay over on this occasion, but have already planned our next 3 night stay. The food was delicious as always, one friend opted for the pie of the day, declaring it to be " the best pie she had ever eaten" - this echoed the sentiments of my husband on our previous visit. We were able to sit outside in the lovely gardens with our after dinner drinks - a delight not to be missed. The staff were friendly, courteous and professional, dealing with our specific requirements without any fuss and without drawing any attention to our needs. Thank you Oakhill.”

“Had an amazing night at the Riverside House Hotel. The service was impeccable, the food delicious and the rooms comfortable. We stayed in the Rafters room which was well equipped and extremely stylish, with a fantastic ensuite which had jack and jill basins and a roll top bath. Overall this place is absolutely awesome, it's a little on the pricey side (for us normal folk!), however as a special treat I think it is well worth the money. Will definitely be back again!”

“Delightful - i was so surprised how lovely this wee space was when I arrived. Beautifully appointed - attention to detail everywhere - bedroom was lovely and the cooking - sitting area was a surprise and perfect. Can't imagine why I'd ever stay in a hotel again with this available. Recommended. I didn't eat at the nearby restaurant but two of the other guests did and said it was excellent. “The second I walked into the Maynard I knew we had to have our wedding there. The whole team have excellent communication from the original booking process, smooth transitions and organisation from the morning getting ready to the end of the day and the food was beautiful. We live in Thailand so have been planning the wedding from abroad but the team at the Maynard have been accommodating with communication, online meetings and answering 1 million questions and requests from me via email. Do not hesitate to book your wedding here, you will not regret it!”

“I honestly don’t know where to start! Me and my family have been coming here for years, all celebrations including big functions for my brothers cricket team and it has always been impeccable! My family decided to book for my 21st birthday meal and as a present the Robyn Loxley suite was booked for me and my partner to stay the night. The suite was absolutely beautiful, spacious, unbelievably clean and beautifully decorated. The thought and little details that go into the suite are stunning and anyone debating booking it you will not be disappointed! Onto the food, every time we have eaten here it has always been amazing but last night was absolutely unreal. We had 20+ people in our booking and every single dish came out on time, fresh and absolutely divine! Every single member of staff was absolutely lovely and made my night so so special, I really will remember this night forever. Thank you to John, his family and all the staff!”

“A lovely stay at this beautiful hotel. The staff were absolutely fantastic and made the stay even more memorable with their professional, friendly and attentive service throughout. The restaurant was excellent, where the quality of the food was superb. The Location is great and for those who enjoy fly fishing, you have the Derwent (wading) and Wye (bank fishing) rivers. To make the experience even better, you can get a local guide to be with you, providing expert tuition and river knowledge. I had ‘Bernie M’ which was a real privilege to learn from such a well qualified fisherman. We will return as this is a special place; a thoroughly enjoyable few days. “Amazing 90 minute bottomless brunch. The food was delicious, great quality, beautifully cooked and presented. Great selection of cocktails. £38 was good value for the level of quality and service. We were looked after by Katie who was brilliant - attentive, friendly and helpful. I hadn't visited the Psalter since it was taken over a couple of years ago. I'd really recommend it for bottomless brunch or food, especially the small plates.”

“This is a fantastic family holiday / break venue. Everything that you would need for an enjoyable time is here on site. There are activities for all age groups, some are in with the price, swimming for example, the aqua park is outstandingly good, we have had hours of fun in there.There are other activities that you have to pay for, zip wire, ten pin bowling and boating to name a few. The venue is kept spotlessly clean by the friendly attentive staff, and the accommodation is set out well, nestled in the wooded area. If you want to eat out, there is a choice of restaurants on site. If you prefer to cook your own meals, there is an on-site shop that is extensively stocked. All in all, Centre Parcs has got it right. Their focus is that the whole family have an enjoyable, memorable experience that makes you want to do it again.”

“Popped in for a pint and snack, whilst on a hike. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Decent selection of Ales. The beer garden was an excellent find, caught the afternoon sun perfectly and still a great view of the hills opposite, despite being well hidden around the back of the Inn.”

“Booked in for the Pie and a Pint night. £14.50 each was really good value as the pies, chips and peas are excellent. We had the Venison and Red Wine along with the Lamb and Mint. The pastry in both was great along with the sides and the gravy. All good all, a great meal at a great price!”

“Went for a meal in the restaurant last night with my wife after visiting earlier in the year on a very impressive bank holiday “pie promo” day. Was really hoping to be blown away by the food as we’d also had personal recommendations & ……….WOW! The food was exceptional. I’m a lifelong pork belly fan & the chefs take on it was exceptional. What a dish! My wife had a trio of Tapas which were also excellent. Deserts were also exceptional. Service was also excellent with special mentions to Richard who totally runs the show with passion & finesse & Drew who was great at the bar. Absolutely loved the vibe, space & experience as a whole & would highly recommend.”

“We had a fabulous overnight stay at the Pebley Inn. It has a lovely deck outside overlooking the countryside, luckily we had a lovely autumn night to make the most of it. We were greeted at check in by the lovely Olivia, it was such a warm friendly welcome and she continued to look after us all night. We stay in a lot of pubs on our travels and don't normally get such amazing service. Food delicious. Beers kept well. Warm atmosphere in the pub. Room well equipped. The whole night was excellent.”

“I booked the spa and overnight stay for our 20th wedding anniversary. The spa was wonderful so relaxing and the staff were amazing even preparing us a surprise dessert after our wonderful lunch. The hotel is a beautiful place, our room was perfect. A lot of work has gone into this place to achieve its grandeur. We spent a lovely evening in the bar/restaurant and the food didn’t disappoint and the service was excellent. “Stayed at HEX on a coach trip from Cornwall. This is a fantastic hotel the concept of the hotel is fantastic. Rooms modern very clean well equipped. A separate resutrant and bar fantastic to be seperate from rooms. Great to have wildlife park on the complex no travelling. Also a complex of shops places to eat and coffee shops. The staff are wonderful so friendly can't do enough for you it's all the extra care to detail to make your stay great I have stayed in a lot of hotels Hex is first class. Highly recommended. “We organised a group booking for our Curry Club at The Station Hotel, Parkgate. What an amazing night. The quality of the food was exceptional, fantastic value for money and lots of variety.
