“Good for walking dogs, there’s a large grassed area with benches around it ideal for picnics or kicking a ball about and on the far side there’s a kiddies play park with a slide swings & climbing frames.”
“Really scenic place to visit with amazing views! Can be done as a circular walk starting at hen cloud next to the tea room all the way across hen cloud and onto the roaches to the road at the end, then follow the road back to the starting point. 100% recommend!”

“This is an excellent facility.... Everything was outstanding. Our dogs, Bertie and Maddie enjoyed their 50 minutes of madness on a farm in a large secure field..... For £9! Parking on site, water kindly provided for the dogs and a few seats just in case us owners get tired watching our fur babies! There is an indoor barn for rent and a small shop selling eggs cakes etc. We're returning tomorrow for another 50 minutes. Bookings can be done online and payment either over the phone or at the gate...... Pop the cash in the wall box on entry. Highly recommend a visit with your dog/so here.”
“I’ve been taking my dogs here for the past 2-3 weeks and they love it. They have everything that you would need and want when taking your dogs for a run around”
“The Dingle is an absolute gem in the heart of Shrewsbury’s Quarry Park. Once a quarry, it has been transformed into a beautiful sunken garden with colourful flower beds, water features, and a peaceful fountain. It feels like stepping into a hidden oasis—calm, serene, and full of charm. The planting is stunning in every season, and the history behind it makes it even more special. A perfect spot for a quiet walk, photography, or simply to sit and enjoy nature. Definitely one of Shrewsbury’s highlights!”
“Definitely one of the best rides at Alton Towers. Highly recommend giving it a go....or few.”
“Myself, my wife and my in-laws came to a cottage near Blythe Bridge for our wedding anniversary. We had looked at a few places to go out for walks (ourselves and the dogs), and we decided on Downs Bank first. We're so pleased we did. There is ample parking for around 40 cars. We did a few easy walks as both of my in laws are getting on in years. But, there are a lot more challenging walks for those that like to get the heart rate up. Benches around the bank are a little hard to find but there are sufficient for just taking a brief moment near the stream. We were here in January and we couldn't have asked for better weather, and being early in the year, the cold and lack of children had made this a beautiful place to stroll around with very few people/kids or dogs to break the relative tranquility of a lovely place. Once you have done the walk a couple of times the chance of a different type of photograph have gone, but then you could start to get creative about differing points of view and shots to try. Overall I would highly recommend Downs Bank for all ages and abilities.”
“We had a great time at Go Ape Buxton. All the staff were fantastic. Particularly Ruben and Ella who were our instructors on the way around the course. I would 100% recommend a visit, even if you are a first timer like I was, the instructors put you at complete ease with safety first. I will be returning for sure.”
“Beautifully kept gardens with a free roam walking trail. Deceptive as it looks quite a small area but there are so many paths and different areas to explore. Many different themed areas too to keep the interest. The dahlia walk is superb. Highly recommended.”
“Rudyard Lake is a beautiful spot for a walk or a paddle. The scenery is calm and picturesque, and there’s a good mix of trails for different energy levels. A lovely place to spend a few hours outdoors away from the busy towns.”
“Beautiful gardens, nice walk around even in the October rain. Cafe really nice with excellent scones”
“Beautiful park next to the river Severn. Riverside walks, children's play & water parks. Great cafe next to the leisure centre. The Dingle Garden is full of interesting plants and a pond.”
“A really nice dining experience. And unusual. The fusion of the very modern main dining area and the more traditional snug really works. And how the huge dining area has been broken down into different character areas is very clever. The menu has variety and both our meals were something new to us and delicious. The service was excellent as well.”
“Very picturesque reservoir with wonderful wooded pathways around it. Its about a leisurely 2hour hike for a complete circuit. Lots of wildlife to see. The car park is free however only holds about 25 cars so fills up quickly on hot summer days. We waited 15 minutes in our car for a space to become available. Easy to find. Well worth visiting for some exercising.”
“A superb roller coaster themed around breakbeat and falling into a hole. The sensation is excellent, and it's the fastest ride in the park so you really feel it! A MUST ride unless you HATE mysterious holes and good genres of music.”
“What an absolutely stunning place. For such a huge old building the 1st thing that struck me was the cleanliness, its immaculate. Sunday lunch was beautiful, with friendly service and our room was outstanding. With the winter offer it was real value for money. Our bed was so comfy.”
“I visited the Arndale Heritage Centre today with my son and it honestly warmed my heart. Barrie and team have built this place from scratch and filled it with so many fascinating things from fossils to old mining history. But what made it really special was Barrie himself. He took so much time with my little boy, explaining each fossil and piece of mining equipment with such care and enthusiasm. Watching my sons eyes light up as he listened was a moment I’ll always remember — and it meant a lot to me too. It’s rare to meet someone so genuinely passionate, kind and generous with their time. People like Barrie are what makes the world go round, and the centre is a true reflection of the love and effort he’s put into it. We feel honoured to have met him today, and we’ll definitely be back.”
“Great place for a walk in nature, beautiful and peaceful, plenty of benches to rest on along the way and an excellent kids trail. Will definitely visit again when in the area.”
“Absolutely brilliant place to take your dogs off lead. Very nice open space, lots of room to run and play and sniff as they please. On site water bowl for dogs with a tap. Very secure. My beagles as a great time there, will be coming again”
“Absolutely gorgeous walk, especially April May when the bluebells are flowering. 100% blessed to have on doorstep.”
“We rented Raki Raki from Floating Holidays for a trip up to Daresbury festival and the boat and company were great! Very friendly, helpful with info on important bits and the boat was exactly what we needed to have a great weekend! Would happily rent again in the future”
“It's a lovely lake and a nice easy walk around the lake. And it has paths leading off to other walks through the woodland. So you can make your walk as big or small as you like. Lots of nature trails and lots of things the kids can spot along the way. The little cow shed next door to the reserve so you can grab a cuppa. Card only. Oakhanger project's is how I came to know the place through kayaking and canoeing. Which I found through Walk talk action. Which you can also find on Facebook and get involved for people of all ages”
“We had a wonderful weekend with extended family staying in tents and safari lodges. The accommodation was fantastic, the lodges were luxurious, clean and spacious. The facilities were fabulous, particularly the biotop pool and the kids beach area. We had an age range of baby to 70s and there really was something for everyone. Plus all the staff were so helpful and nice, even collecting a birthday cake which had been incorrectly delivered for us. We will be back…highly recommended. Ty.”
“We visited bewilder-wood for the Christmas Panto and light trail. This was the first time we had been and we loved it. We wondered through the forest looking at the lovely light displays. We then had some festive food in the tee pee tent. The food was very good and very fairly priced. We then went to see the pantomime and wondered through the remaining forest light trail. We spent around 3 hours here we had a great time! Thank you Bewilderwood”
“Great walk, posts with colour code walks to follow. Very peaceful.”
“Fantastic free place to visit and walk, always bump into dog walkers when we visit. It's great to give children freedom to run and let them choose the path of adventure. So lucky to have this not too far away from where we live. Another outdoor area of beauty free of charge with a place to park and good for runners too.”
“Went here for the North Pole express. We had a great time. The staff were all really friendly. A great experience for us and the kids. A small bag of treats on the train including port and mince pies for us and juice and cookies for the kids made the journey even better. The kids loved their gifts from Santa too; a well thought out gift for our kids ages. The elves on board made it fun, having a sing along and even a bit of magic which was great. All in all a really great experience and highly recommend it. We also had a drink in the bar after, mulled wine and a great selection of beers finished off with some tasty hot meat baps and pigs in blankets.”
“Fantastic experience!! Every scene was beautifully presentated with perfect music! Great for families of all ages and enough places to stop to take photos and great food from the vendors!”
