“All you have to do is book online via congleton town council and you get a 3 hour slot. It's about 60' in diameter and at its deepest it's just under knee deep to an adult, it's clean and safe for the kids. Best part, it's free. There are no refreshments on site, you can bring your own though. The only amenities on site are a toilet and some bins and 7 benches, there is space to lay out a towel and lounge in the sun though.”
“we love this cafe, our family comes here every year in the autumn”
“A variety of habitats attract a diverse wealth of flora and fauna. A lot a visitors come to see the different species of Gulls that can be found but there is something for everyone in the area. I like to see the huge flocks of Lapwings when they are wheeling in the sky. Little Egret and Great White Egret have made a home here but you never know which flash you might find them on.”
“New to the area and tried Rookery for the first time. Still very busy towards their closing time but they were very friendly and welcoming. The food was decent and definitely did the job. We will definitely go back. Sounds like they're new owners by the way so for anyone who has rated it poorly before give it a go again now”
“I’ve been wanting to stay at the Enchanted Village Treehouses at Alton Towers since they’ve opened, and as it was a friends birthday, 8 of us pooled together to stay in one during Oktoberfest during September 2023. I’m not going to soften the blow – this is one of, if not the most expensive accommodations on-site at Alton Towers, but was the price-tag worth it? I think it was! First off, once booked, we received all the normal confirmations as you would expect. What was nice however is we received a phone call a few days before we checked in from a very friendly woman, who explained everything we would want to know about our stay. It was a very nice personalised touch, and got us excited for the trip. Upon arrival, you get 2 reserved parking spaces at the Alton Towers Hotel which we took advantage of. As check in was at 2pm, we headed into Alton Towers in the morning and then headed back to check in. There is a specific Enchanted Village Treehouses check in area in the Alton Towers hotel, where you’re met by a member of the team who give you all the details you’ll need, keys and tell you how to get to your lodge. Once the paperwork was done, we headed to the lodge. The Enchanted Village area is car free, so we grabbed our bags and headed to the lodge. The host who checked us in stopped by to show us how everything worked, and again, this very personal touch was greatly appreciated and did elevate the experience somewhat. Upon entry, the Treehouse was impressive, with massive high ceilings and big windows overlooking the forest. There were lots of little details throughout the lodge such as little ‘fairy doors’, books for children, mugs with hot chocolate and biscuits, as well as an XBOX with games. As it was our friend’s birthday, they organised a really lovely treats hamper, including sweets, popcorn, some Wickerman goodies and a bottle of Prosecco – it was a really lovely surprise and one he hugely appreciated. The highlight however was the hot tub on the terrace overlooking the forest – it was fabulous and, in my opinion, made the price tag of the Treehouse worthwhile. There was something quite special being sat in your lovely warm hot tub sipping some bubbles overlooking the forest. The bedrooms were fairly small, but as we were staying just the one night, we didn’t spend a huge amount of time in them. As part of the package, we also got 4 Fastrack passes per person for The Smiler, Spinball Whizzer, Runaway Minetrain and Wicker Man. These do change throughout the year so the rides may be different, but this was a great bonus as it was a busy Saturday on the park. As part of the package we got breakfast in the Crooked Spoon. I’ve left a separate review of my experience at The Crooked Spoon as this was very disappointing, and did leave a sour note on the end of stay – but I feel that the Treehouse itself shouldn’t be penalised for the poor experience there. Overall, as a treat for a special occasion, the Enchanted Village Treehouses are worth it. The service, perks and location really do make a difference – and the wonderful hot tub is the cherry on the cake.”
“One of the best shops in crewe. Friendly Mum and Son run it. Great Food Great Prices. Only qualm Is that its cash only.”
“Was quite anxious as my 7 and 10 yo went off in different direction. Staff friendly and had the use of AI life guarding, continually scanning swimmers and those in trouble. Rides where great, queues manageable, pools warm , food was a bit pricey. Parking free.”
“Needed some replacements for my near 20 year old square taper RS7 cranks, with picky fitment requirements. Paul rapidly responded to my query and gave options for new X-Type RS7s with UNO ring, and got them sent out within 24hrs. Wonderful service!”
“First visit and tried the taster menu for a birthday meal…Wow! We will be returning very soon! What a beautiful restaurant. Excellent quality food and drinks at reasonable prices. Perfect for a special meal out. Loved it and would recommend to anyone!”
“Always excellent quality food, our go to Friday night or pay day weekend treat - great value for money, cash only but friendly quick delivery. The most popular Chinese takeaway in the town and deservedly so.”
“It's a great spot to enter the theme park at Alton towers resort, with the steamy mist it makes a great atmospheric setting that creates alot of excitement as you enter knowing you have arrived at the largest theme park in the uk and gets you ready for a fun day. One of the best rollercoaster rides in the busiest area of the park along side the new Toxicator and nemesis reborn”
“Stayed here for one night on the 2-day pass bundle. The bed was comfy, few little amenities like a kettle with tea and coffee with a selection of biscuits. A hairdryer was located in the draw on the dresser table. Plenty of clean soft towels. The TV worked which is useful no signal issues. Not too far a walk to the monorail to get into the park. Staff were helpful on arrival and check out. Plenty of parking after checking in at 4 p.m. Would recommend.”
“Whilst most of the other rides will most likely be broken being Alton Towers, this is a great place to go to have fun, everybody tries to shoot everybody and it's great! Half the guns don't work (Alton Towers) but it's still great!!!”
“Absolutely beautiful place for a dog walk or even a leisurely stroll to be at one with nature. The colours of the autumn leaves are lovely. You can hear birds singing in the trees. It's a beautiful place with spaces to leave your car too. I didn't know this existed until I saw the reviews on here. There is a lovely lake as well with ducks and geese having a swim. The geese I heard flying into the area and landed on the lake for a rest. It's so nice and peaceful. I didn't see anyone else whilst I was walking around. I highly recommend this reserve.”
“A hidden gem in the heart of Whitchurch, overlooking Jubilee Park. If you like Thai food, you will love this restaurant. Great food, great service and amazing location and they even serve better chips than the local chip shops (Mike). Cannot recommend it enough. And if you are into your tech, the automated service robot will bring a smile to your face.”
“Hosted our son's birthday party here today. Lovely service, nothing was too much trouble and very reasonably priced. Would recommend.”
“Been going to The Finney for over 10 years and always been hit and miss with food. Today however has the most amazing Sunday lunch which was all fresh ingredients and piping hot, absolutely delicious thank you Caroline and the team”
“Another Santa Sleepover and every year it doesn't disappoint! Our son is autistic and has additional complex needs, all of the staff are so understanding and helpful. Highly recommend The Secret Garden restaurant, the food was fantastic and you never had to wait long for the buffet to be refilled. Lovely staff, comfy beds, and great entertainment.”
“I love this. It's bot a thrill seeking ride, but it is a good fun ride. You're going to get wet... you know that don't you?”
“Went this morning because it was included with our hotel stay. Last time we did this was before COVID, so ages ago. We weren't fussed about it but decided to anyway. It's very well kept. Has some fantastic effects and ended up being such a laugh. I'd even pay to do this again, especially if it's quiet. Well worth it.”
“Brilliant! We are able to go with our son and some of his friends and only pay for them to go on, whilst we sit upstairs with a coffee where we can watch over them! The space itself is brilliant! The bouncy bit is extensive and there are lots of things to do from gladiator fighting with inflatable poles to climbing and sliding. Our son loves it here! The staff are always helpful and friendly, and the drinks are a decent quality. They even do slushies which is our sons favourite! Would highly recommend for a fun few hours for the kids!”
“Always enjoy eating here. We went for the buffet so food is always fresh. We got there at 12 as it opened so we didnt have to wait and it wasnt too busy at that time. Food areas were clean and staff were friendly.”
“Beautiful sculpture. Parking is a bit limited which is a shame as it isn't heavily promoted in the local area. There also used to be a triangular sculpture here but it disappeared....would love to know where it went?”
“A little gem. Rooms are basic but comfortable, the staff are super friendly, and the breakfast was superb. Would definitely return.”
“We had a great time at the Splash Landings hotel. The location with water park onsite, and proximity to the park is excellent. Minor gripes that the weather was roasting and the little fan in the room was barely adequate, it may be an idea to improve the cooling facilties within the hotel. I also wonder why they provide some entertainment at night, but take hour long breaks in between, so people rarely sit and wait for the next one. Why not just have a full evening of entertainment, there are hundreds of guests and I'm sure it would be popular.”
“This is a great thrill ride and is interactive to turn yourself, however the wheel can be quite heavy for younger people. There is a fun pirate theme with cannon balls in the railings”
“Octonauts Rollercoaster is a rollercoaster for the younger members of the family to enjoy and is located in the CBeebies Land area of Alton towers which is easily found at the bottom of Towers street not far from the main entrance. This rollercoaster although only for the children I believe is classed as one of the 10 rollercoasters that can be found at Alton towers theme park resort.”
“I'd review this more of Tittesworth reservoir. Great family place, scenic walks, great kids play area and great place for a picnic.”
“Great facilities. Staff are really nice. Beeb on a course today and the instructor was friendly and really knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend”
“Staffs are very accommodating and very friendly! Very clean wash area shower and toilet. Shared his knowledge about animals to the kids. Definitely recommended +5 star”
