βAs a returning customer for some years Fort Dunlop is perfect for my needs. Staff such as Ryan (manager), Shanaz (assist manager) and of course my Tracy (restraurant) deliver excellent customer service! Any issues or disatisfactions bought to their attention are resolved quickly, swiftly and professionally. The asthetics have improved and are pleasing on the eye, however for me the customer service is what makes a business thrive and be successful! The only constructive feedback would be 1) the heating in room appears to auto randomly turn off. This can be annoying for anyone that gets cold easy and 2) the toilets are positioned too low. Im 5ft5 and semi struggled due to its below standard reduced height installation. Free carpark supports the affordability and cost of living for those wanting a staycation break. I would recomment to friends and family.β
βLocation are nice rooms are small .β
βFantastic service. I regularly travel across the UK but this was my first stay at this holiday inn. For me, working in hospitaly for a number of years has raised the bar for what is expected when it comes to customer service. It is safe to say the staff at star city Holiday Inn are fantastic. Customer service is about providing the best experience and that is exactly what I got. Thank you to Ramsha, Tina and her team for being so accommodating. I will be back in Birmingham in a couple of weeks and I will certainly re-book for the same hotel.β

βCould not fault the hotel and its facilities, car park is a few minutes away and you get a discount, its worth the money as its 24 hour secure, the one next door isn't. Food is pretty good, we got a large pizza between 2 as there is meal deals. It was really nice. Our only issue was bar staff shutting the bar early 11pm, without a last orders and it was busy, this was despite us being told its around 1am if it was busy. Luckily there is a NISA store right next door so we got a bottle of wine. I would definitely go back, a very good breakfast but it was busy. All in all really liked the place and it was cheap for an Uber to the utilita arena about Β£7, so same to town.β
βRecently Stayed for an overnight. Could not say a bad word about the experience. Room was exceptionally clean and Comfortable. All the Staff we encountered were very friendly. Breakfast was excellent. Tremendous value for money. Tram stop 150mts away from front door. Second time to stay and will be backβ
βOn arrival were greeted by the reception who checked all our details, & then gave us clear instructions on how to get to our room. During the check in process we were also told where breakfast would be served in the morning & times. The room was spotless & quiet. We were on the 6th floor, absolutely no problems with getting a lift to the room or ground floor. The only negative thing is that we arrived by train at Birmingham Grand Central (New Street Station) & if you have suitcases then it's a bit of a trek & would be better get a cab than walk. As we only had hand luggage then this was not a problem & took us no more than 8 minites. If you got a cab then you would be there in 3 minutes. Good location & close to China Town. Would definitely stop here again.β
βOur recent stay was for a family funeral. Although our mood was low due to the circumstances we were overwhelmed with how good this hotel was. We stay in many hotels around the world due to work and this was fantastic. The room was perfect, the food was exceptional and the service was first class. A huge thank you to Gerry, she made our whole stay so enjoyable. The owners should be proud of her work ethic to go the extra mile with all our questions or requests. We will definitely stay here again in the future when visiting family or working in the area.β
βNice hotel, convenient for the city. Have used the place over 20 years. Always clean and comfortable rooms. A reasonable price for the area, close to the city, with a frequent bus service on 4 routes into Birmingham. Parking available for a number of cars/vans. Would recommend to anyone...β
βGood clean room, love a travelodge because you know what you're gonna get. Had a few minor issues but went to reception and Renay was so so lovely. She went above and beyond to let me know what was going on and to fix everything she could as quickly as she could. Couldn't have asked for better. Thank you!!!β
βWe've stayed here for the last 16 years and love it. The staff are wonderful. Rooms are lovely and clean and the beds are amazing. Love the breakfast and my favourite is the bar..so snug and inviting. Very central location for us. Looking forward to our next visit.β
βHad a great stay at this Travelodge! I was in Birmingham for the Commonwealth Games, and the staff went above and beyond to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. They upgraded my room as I was staying the full week, and gave lots of great recommendations. They went out of their way to chat and make me feel at home - especially being 8 months pregnant! Definitely recommend.β
βJust returned from a 1 night stay at this hotel and we are so impressed. I read reviews which made me so nervous but I wish I hadnβt have worried now. The location is perfect, staff were excellent, rooms were great and so clean. I would 100% return!β
βCame here to have a "ozzy day" . Was handy for everything we needed.. no food in this Travelodge but there is a shop up the road and takeaways. Couldnt fault itβ
βEnjoyed our one night stay here, the receptionist was very friendly and we had no issues checking in after midnight. We booked a double bed room and it was actually really lovely, Iβve been enjoying my Travelodge stays and was not disappointed here too! More affordable and the hotels have been so well maintained compared to other competitors like Premier Inn. This hotel has a more modern feeling to it compared to the older travelodges, which I really appreciated. NOTE: Video below is after our stay of the room hence the bedding is not done up!β
βThis is the second time I've stayed here and both times it was been really good. Staff are very friendly, rooms are clean and quiet at night. Breakfast was good too. There was some noise outside the hotel but that's to be expected in the city centre.β
βNice place and, above all, great service and the management is of the highest standard as well as safety, I'm glad I met them all, very valuable and smiling peopleβ
βThe room lighting could be better. Great location with a Toby just next door for dinner.β
βStayed here lots of times Brilliant hotel 5 stars every time The manager Julia is absolutely brilliant at her job Very helpful in every way Very pleasant and very polite Nothing is too much for her Brilliant management skills Thank you julia always a pleasure staying there 5 starsβ
βI stayed at this Travelodge for 4 days and had a wonderful experience. The staff were absolutely amazing, especially Dawn and Oliver. I encountered a few issues during my stay, and they went above and beyond to be kind, understanding, and incredibly helpful. Their excellent customer service made my stay so much more enjoyable.β
βWhat can i say about our wedding here on 29th July 2022..wow ..amazing. magical..best day of our lives..we booked 2 years ago and due to covid it was pushed back..during this time the hotel had new management and we had seen a couple of negative comments so called and asked for a meeting..all our worries were talked through and we were put at ease..then we booked an appt to meet the new wedding planner pippa 2 weeks before the wedding and knew instantly that she was totally on the ball..she did not let us down her communication was fantastic and she did everything possible to make our day so special..we had no hiccups and everything ran like clockwork. The only slight niggle would be the queue for the bar but we did have a large wedding so maybe at the next large wedding another bar team member would help..but all in all our day was perfect and we wouldn't change a single minute of it. The team worked so hard and made our day special. Thank you to all the staffβ
βLovely hotel, maybe a little dated in decor in places but was real clean and quiet. Nice room and lovely breakfast. Would definitely recommend and I would definitely stay again.β
βTop staff who sorted us out big time. I recommend this hotel for staying in brum especially if you want to be close to the nightlife! We saw Kendrick Lamar and they were brilliant late at night too!β
βAbsolutely wonderful stay. The receptionist right from the minute I walked thru the door was so welcoming and helpful! The bed was really comfy! Couldn't fault my stay at all it was just lovely.β
βVery pleased with my stay here with the price and service. Extremely grateful for Dot at the desk who was extremely professional, kind, supportive and friendly towards me. I was in a bad place when I came here and she welcomed me with her warmth will be forever in gratitude for her kindness what a gentle soul. Pls give her a pay rise she deserves it. Thank you Dot you are the highlight of Ibis you super starβ
βExcellent hotel. With spa, gym, conference room, swimming pool and restraunt.. You can even have your wedding reception here as well. Located just outside Bromsgrove, easy accessible by car and public transport. Car park cost Β£5 per night. ( Oct 2025 prices) The staff were very welcoming, and very polite. The bar area where I had a coffee was clean and spacious. My room was spacious, clean, excellent wifi, TV and tea/coffee facilities and the shower/bath had plenty of hot water. And it was lovely and quite.β
