βThis is a wonderful example of how a GP surgery should be. Friendly, efficient and very helpful reception staff, and doctors, nurses and pharmacist prepared to listen and go out of their way to help. Five stars.β
βCaring therapy. Grab this help with both hands. You won't get better help on the nhsβ
βDr Potluri has gone above and beyond to see me quickly and refer me to the relevant hospital department. Very thorough and made me feel listened to.β
βExcellent service here, appointment made by the receptionist at my drs (because I couldn't get an appointment there) for 18.45 the same day, in and out in 25 minutes, prescription sorted and physio arranged for following week, brilliant. All very friendly staff and very clean building. Superb.β
βNew patient at the clinic after moving to Derby and canβt recommend enough. I have had more help with ongoing health issues than previous medical centres, felt listened to and advised appropriately. Understandably healthcare is under pressure and limited appointments , however hasnβt stopped their reception team/doctors and nurses from providing the best service they can.β
βBest practice Iβve experienced! Such friendly staff (receptionists and doctors!) and such an easy way to book appointments!β
βIβve recently moved from London and found all the staff to be very helpful and friendly and very professional at all times.β
βFantastic doctors surgery. Staff are very friendly and professional. Very lucky to have meashan medical unit as our local surgery. :-)β

βI have recently registered with Vernon Street Surgery, and had attended my 1st appointment this week, I had a phone call on Saturday morning from a very pleasant lady saying that they had a cancellation on Monday and would I like to attend the appointment as they were aware I needed to see a a GP ( I had spoken with the Pharmacist the day before). I was met with a smile from the receptionist as soon as I walked in even though he was on a call with a patient. My appointment (which was on time I might add) was with Dr McKay, what a fabulous doctor, so approachable, empathetic and warm and I felt listened to, I was very reluctant to change practice, but I am delighted that I did!β
βUPDATE on my previous review below. Iβve just had a telephone call with Leslie the reception manager who was absolutely amazing today dealing with my issue I canβt thank her enough thank you very much. I donβt usually like to complain, but I do feel itβs important to give this feedback. A receptionistβs main role is to be polite and helpful, especially when dealing with patients who may already be stressed or unwell. I called to chase up a sick note that I had been waiting over six days for. I began the call by saying, βGood morning, Iβm just chasing up a sick note. Iβve been waiting five days β is that normal, or do I need to be more patient?β The first response I received was, βWell I have no idea who Iβm talking to.β I felt this came across as quite rude. A more polite approach would have been something like, βThatβs okay, Iβll look into it for you β can I take your name please?β The tone of the conversation made me feel quite upset. Eventually, the receptionist did confirm that the sick note was past the normal deadline date and said she would chase it up immediately, which I appreciated. I would just ask that management remind staff how much a caring, kind, and considerate approach matters. Small things like tone and wording can make a big difference to patients.β
βHave been with this surgery for about a year and have had absolutely no issues. Receptionists are always lovely when I speak to them on the phone and really helpful. I've had one appointment I was incredible anxious about with a Nurse and she was so kind and supportive. Today I saw Dr Devagiri I believe who is the first person in many years who has taken my knee pain seriously and I feel like I've finally been listened to. Really do recommend.β
βEven before the Pandemic, there was a national shortage of GPS and the Park Medical has been no exception. This has been a very stressful time for the NHS. GPS have familyβs too that have had Covid and they have still been working at home while looking after them. We now have three surgeries we can go to if we are able. The telephone service does need looking at Its very frustrating to ring at 8 and to get through and then be cut off. Only to wait another hour to be told there are no appointments. Receptionists need to understand that people who are unwell and anxious are not at their best, but also if youβve had five people in a row complaining thatβs hard too. That is their job though and some need a bit more patience. I think that on the whole the surgery is doing their very best. These are not normal times and under abnormal conditions we cannot expect things to be the same ,we all need to be less demanding and I know Iβm guilty of that. Hospitals have not been able to function as they did pre Pandemic.so not will other services. Most things can wait a couple of days or so, It is frustrating but things will slowly improve.β
βI recently had cause to complain about a member of your reception staff. The matter was resolved by your assistant practice manager, Ben Kavenagh. I found him very helpful, clear to understand and after investigating my complaint he dealt swifty with the problem. He is an asset to your team.β
βToday my daughter had an appointment with one of the nurses and the nurse was absolutely amazing. She put my daughter at ease and explained the situation and all our questions were answered. I'm very happy with the surgery.β
βMy experience here as my first appointment was really good as my psychologist Joe has been helping me with my severe anxiety and helping me to get better she has been ever so good with me as a young adult but most of all helped me with my disability that I have and sorting everything out for me for new tests to have and Iβm grateful to have the help here that I have been given and gifted in person because if I didnβt have the help I wouldnβt be here today from all the services I have had help from these past few years of having mental health problems with my life and background that I have and learned to live with nowβ
βExcellent service, receptionist is very professional and polite, surgery very clean, disabled access, wide entrance for wheelchairs and generous corridors for wheelchairs.β
βNicholas, was very helpful and show me very kindly how to use NHS app to renew my prescription. Thank you so much for your helpβ
βI don't often leave reviews but felt I had to after the brilliant experience I had this morning. I went to the GP this morning for the first time in a very long time and I was worried that I'd struggle to get an appointment with how strained the entire GP system is at the moment. However I'm glad to say my worries were unfounded. I called at 8am and the kind receptionist booked me in at 9:40am same day which was fantastic. I saw the doctor on time and I just want to highlight how brilliant a doctor Dr Smith is. He was very friendly and empathetic and a great listener and honestly everything you could want in a GP. A true credit to the surgery. I managed to pick up my prescription and all in all, the whole process took less than half an hour. I'm happy I am a patient here!β
βMy father needed an appointment on Thursday of this week. Is under the Melbourne side, but fortunately was able to get an appointment at Chellaston side. A wonderful doctor ( David). Very efficient, took time to put my father at ease and was very understanding. Can't fault this surgery at all. Well done.β
βWent for steroid injections in my knees yesterday and was so glad it was Dr Mbah again. She was so caring and clear with her explanations. Listened to my questions and I felt she had a genuine care for my wellbeing, not rushing me at all. If I could give 10 stars I would. Thank you Dr Mbah.β
βThe new online appointment system is brilliant, much easier thank you. Reception staff always very polite and friendly. The midwife Rachel is excellent, as was the student she was working with. Dr Lewis is incredibly knowledgeable, empathic, patient and caring, a credit to the NHS. I have felt very heard and supported during my experiences with Trent Meadows thank you.β
βA great practice - the G.Ps are thorough, and listen intently to concerns. Since having my daughter they have been reliable, friendly and efficient during what have been difficult times. Admittedly it is not always the easiest to get an appointment but I find the reception staff (in particular Chrissy&Zoe) very genuine and repeatedly go out their way to help you with the resources they have available to them. In my experience, the practice has been consistently responsive to concerns of a serious clinical nature.β

βNice people in reception, they are really friendly and helpful. Smooth registration and smart booking in system. I do avoid dr Thompson or Liam as they are stubborn to the extend that I need come back a few time before I get what solve the problem and with huge respect to them I do understand that they have enormous knowledge and extensive experience but I would rather avoid them at least you have headache and you need paracetamol or life threatening symptoms. But over all experience at Carlton Surgery I can give βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβ
