“The owner and staff are the loveliest people in Edinburgh: so generous, kind, and thoughtful with all their customers (and not just customers, anyone they see walking past on the street who needs assistance). I cannot count the number of times I've walked past this cafe and seen the owner helping someone out. An Edinburgh food classic. They make the best sandwiches, we won't stop coming here or recommending it :)”
“Absolutely incredible Italian restaurant! The food is all made in-house and you can really taste the passion and quality in every dish. It feels like fine dining, but with a very original twist that makes it stand out from anywhere else in Edinburgh. The flavours are authentic yet creative, and everything is beautifully presented. Highly recommend for anyone who wants a real Italian experience with a unique touch!”
“I love love love this place ! The food is incredible, amazing service and superb atmosphere and with hand on my heart I can say the best Thai food ive tasted in Edinburgh for a looooong time! I will be back soon for more of this amazing cousine.”
“Very beautiful house with great hosts and a delicious breakfast...will definitely stay here again, when back in Edinburgh ❤️”
“Breakfasthere is superb, and so is lunch. The soups are delicious. There is always ham hockey lenti, but the vegetable soups vary from day to day, and are always delicious. Home baking...cakes, frangipane tartlets, brownies carrotcake, Portuguese tarts, and always a big cake of some kind.ll fresh, light, and tempting. Oh..and the scones. Baked every morning, with freshly whipped cream and jam, or just butter...to die for. Forgot to say, the coffee is freshly ground, and they have a very rich and varied selection.and may different teas, well worth experimenting.”
“The best snack van. However, don’t be fooled…more than “snacks” here! Curries, casseroles, authentic yaki soba, the BEST chicken wraps (spicy chicken optional), great soup, cold drinks, and the usual culprits you’d expect. If you’re vegan/veggie he has you covered too with his curry and falafel wraps. Great chat too. Queue goes from left to right… that’s important!”
“We love The Courtyard. Delicious, honest cooking and you’re treated like old friends. A true treat.”
“I’ve been coming here for over a year and cannot recommend enough! Bratwurst are always great and staff very friendly.”
“Great wee spot for great coffee and sweets. The little free library and atmosphere give it a great vibe to relax and enjoy some peace, either alone or with friends. The proprietor was not only personable but funny and knew how to read his people. Highly recommend and will be back.”
“Absolutely loved Cafe Gallo! The bacon, egg, avocado & ’nduja was delicious – perfectly balanced and full of flavour. The coffees were spot on – smooth, rich and expertly made. It’s a brilliant little spot to sit back and watch the world go by in Stockbridge. The service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere just right – relaxed but with a nice buzz. Definitely a new favourite.”
“What an amazing place to stay! Grateful to have found Hapimag. A short 10 minute walk to Princes Street and everything around. 20 min walk to Edinburgh Castle and 45 minute walk to Holyrood Palace (end of Royal Mile) so everything we wanted to see was in walking distance from here. Beautiful hotel. Everything about it was just great. Room was fantastic. Wife and daughter kept saying it reminded them of a Jane Austen movie. Decor was wonderful, beds were super comfy. Our room included two single Murphy beds that the kids used while we had our own master bedroom. Plenty of room to just sprawl out and enjoy the space. Would highly recommend for a stay in Edinburgh!”
“Hands down amazing. The very best food we had during our stay in Edinburgh. Authentically Italian, the staff were fantastic. Will 100% be coming again then next time we visit”
“There are not enough stars... What a fabulous dining experience! I love the concept, and the execution. Sean and Keith have created something which feels unique and special - a fine dining experience which is relaxed and unpretentious, and fun! The concept: one long table which seats up to 10, in front of the kitchen, where you can watch and interact with the two chefs as they go about their business. The execution: ... And what business! Michelin star level food, all freshly prepared and dished out in front of you. It's fun - lots of fun - to watch how they efficiently and masterfully run their kitchen, dovetailing and complementing each other. They have perfected the timing of the evening - 7+ dishes over 4 hours, and it all just... Flows. Not rushed, not slow, just perfect. The food: next level. A riot of flavour, colour, and presentation. Every dish is distinctly different from the last, and the flavours... I don't have the words. Absolutely delicious from start to finish. (Note: there are no allowances for allergies / dislikes, so if you can't eat what is put in front of you this is not the restaurant for you.) I wanted to wipe every plate with my finger, it was hard letting even a sliver of the fabulous flavours return to the kitchen. I had the standard wine pairing, and it's a delight as Sean introduces you to each: the region, the grape, the vineyard, and the notes and tastes to expect. I'm not a seasoned expert, but each seemed perfectly paired with the dish it was matched to, and every wine was delicious. Excellent value for money. Sincere compliments and thanks to Sean and Keith, not just for the food but the entire experience. They are wonderful hosts, and create a real down-to-earth, relaxed atmosphere which enhances the evening. And they genuinely seem to be having fun while they do it! Embarrassing end note: I had the wine pairing, wifey did not. Yet somehow she left me to pay. No problem: take machine, enter tip, tap card. Only... Tip enters as pence, not pounds. Shambles. Sean, lovely bloke that he is, had the good grace not to react and acted like nothing had happened. Hopefully the 5 star review is small recompense - I'll make it up the next time I'm in town! Cannot recommend The Table highly enough. Everyone should try to experience it at least once. Might become an annual tradition for us!”
“Been to this barber in Gorgie twice, and I am officially a regular now. He is incredibly polite, makes you feel at ease with casual chats, and his work is brilliant. Unlike other rushed barbers, he takes his time to give you the perfect look. Once, I arrived just before closing, and he still welcomed me with the same warm attitude. Top notch service and attention to detail. Highly recommend. #BestBarberInEdinburgh #GorgieBarber #EdinburghBarbers #TopNotchService #HaircutPerfection #HighlyRecommended”
“Fin & Grape as recommended on Top Jaw had me trying things I never thought I would. Thanks Wendy for your great suggestion of monkfish, so good and very difficult to describe. I also got some fantastic sourdough, fries, wine, and the salted Yorkshire rhubarb parfait. Wonderful evening! Fin is the restaurant and Grape is the wine bar downstairs.”
“We’re incredibly grateful for the outstanding food you provided for our corporate event! The akara falafel was a real standout—everyone couldn’t stop raving about how delicious it was. The salad bowl was vibrant and fresh, and the lemon sponge cake was hands-down the best I’ve had in ages—perfectly moist and absolutely delightful! The two trays of lemon cake disappeared in no time; it was such a hit that we only wish we had ordered more! A huge thank you to Tosin for making the entire ordering and delivery process so seamless. We’re already looking forward to reaching out again to explore more of the fantastic options on your menu. Warm thanks from all of us at Hymans Robertson!”
“I found this place by chance and had the best luck, as it was about to close. The attention is really warm and kind. The coffee is AMAZING. I had the fortune to get a pistachio cookie and it’s great. Will be back really soon. Everybody talks about what this Edin’s hidden gem has to offer, you need to see it for yourselves. Visit this venue, you won’t regret.”
“It was our first time coming to Michael’s, the waiter guided us what we can eat because we only eat halal and non-alcoholic food. So there were only a few options for us in the menu. While waiting the for our food, they served us with a bread (which has this unique taste, love it!) For starter, we ordered the pan fried scallops (5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) For our mains, i ordered a vegetarian dish, beetroot with eggs and my girlfriend ordered seabass with mussels velouté. Both dishes were super delicious! (5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) As for our dessert, we shared a white chocolate and raspberry blondie. It was too sweet for me but my girlfriend enjoyed it! (4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️). I would recommend this place, and surely come again! Hopefully they can add a few halal options :)”
“Delicious food, freshly made, generous portions. This is my first gyros and the bar is now set high! Would 100% recommend and I hope to visit again.”
“This is a lovely little spot for coffee and cake. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff are always friendly. I’ve been here many times, and the quality is always excellent. It’s the kind of place you can count on for good food every time.”
“Beautiful rooms, well located and a beautiful part of Edinburgh. Lovely selection of complementary products. Comfortable bed and a great shower with excellent pressure which I feel some hotels lack. I had forgot to take my earings which I’d left on the dressing table. I contacted the hotel and Amy delt with my enquiry. She was extremely helpful and was quick to reply to my query. My earing have been returned very promptly of which I am thankful for as they have sentimental value. Thanks again Amy.”
“Aloo Bindhi is so good. The best one I have had in all the time I have tried it. I had them go low on the spice level so it still had a little kick to it. Portions were pretty good for the price. I would have liked a smaller portion and have it come with a rice or naan on the side so I didn’t have to order rice separately but this and an order of rice would be able to feed two people. Would go get food there again if I am in that area of the world once more.”
“A world class dining experience from the off. Condita serve a surprise tasting menu priced at £160 that really puts you in the trusted hands of the small team of chefs headed up by Tyler King. The food demonstrated layer upon layer of flavour that was extremely well balanced and really got you thinking. Sometimes taster menus have dips in them between dishes but each course here was fantastic. The interesting wine list is compiled often with organic and/or biodynamic farming methods in mind and small batch made where possible. A real food lovers paradise.”
“We visited here twice a day!! My kids love his food!! It is the best chicken in Edinburgh. Highly recommend! They'd love Kobayashi dog also! The owner gave free two pocketmon ball cookies and pocketmon cards for my kids. Very generous service!!”
“Fantastic fresh and tasty food . It’s like feeling you’re in Greece,Pita Gyros is amazing . Outstanding the best I had in years and when I tried in Greece was exactly the same taste . Also tried fries and zucchini fries were absolutely delicious ! And finally Baklava . Just perfect everything . Nice and tasty every ingredients is so fresh feels like you’re in the Mediterranean Sea. Love the place nice clean and quick. Definitely go back.”
“I just discovered this wee gem of a vegan café/delicatessen. The food is delicious, good portions and a huge selection too. Didn't have time for cake on my first visit but I will certainly visit again as there were a lot of other sandwiches I would have liked to try. The soup choices were great too, I'd highly recommend you visit it!”
“Love this place, as I just was not expecting it. Great quality Greek food and Wine. Konstantine is a wonderful host and clearly very passionate about delivering something special for his customers. Try the lamb, there would have been photos of dessert had it not disappeared so quickly.”
“Lovely, chic and beautifully decorated b&b! The host was very friendly and helpful. Our room was very big, modern and most importantly - with a comfortable, big bed. It's in excellent location for the beach and with excellent public transport links to Edinburgh city centre. A must visit! Thank you Angela!”
“Amazing cafe with genuine Spanish cuisine. We had two sandwiches, a slice of tortilla, drinks, coffee and dessert and everything tasted great. It was full of other Spanish people, so you can tell it's the real deal. The owner was lovely and it had such a homey atmosphere. Such good value as well. Can't wait to visit their sister restaurant in Tollcross.”
“Great fun and experience with a challenging museum heist. Would highly recommend”
