“Myself and my little boy (14months) came here for light illuminations and stayed over in hotel. What an amazing time! Hotel was immaculate, super clean, modern. A great nights sleep! Staff were super friendly and helpful especially accommodating as I was my own with little one. Only downside was the travel cot mattress was extremely hard but this is common across most hotels we visit. Zoo itself was great. Super clean, great to see all the animals, play areas were super for little ones too. Illuminations was spectacular and SO impressive! Will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend :)”

“Surprisingly very large car park. £4.75/day for cans and vans. 5mins walk to Owley Tor 15 mins walk to Milestone Edge. (Best every view from the top of the hill) Evening hours- golden hours would blow your mind. They dont have any bins anywhere near the Peak District National Park. So keep some spare bags to carry the bins and bring them back to car. No toilet facilities available anywhere near the area. At least we haven’t seen one.”

Sheffield Cable Waterski & Aqua Park

    ★★★★☆ 4.6

“We had such a great day here! tons of exciting slides as well as a fun obstacle course. What really made it special was the paddle boarding! Right next to the water park where you can rent paddle boards. It was the perfect way to wind down after all the water park excitement. The water was calm, the scenery was peaceful, and it was such a fun activity for both beginners and more experienced paddlers. Only “downside” is if you don’t have a car it’s a 40 minute walk from the nearest bus stop but if you enjoy walking it should be no problem! It’s rare to find a place that combines both high-energy water park fun with something more relaxing like paddle boarding — we loved both and would definitely come back. Highly recommended for families, couples, or groups of friends looking for a full day of water activities!”

Families will especially appreciate the well-maintained children’s play area, which keeps little ones entertained for hours. The cafeteria with pond view with boat rides adds a charming touch. On top of that, the park offers a variety of playgrounds and sports areas, so there’s something for everyone. “I visited Locke Park for the parkrun. It’s a pretty and well maintained park. There is a bandstand, cafe, a children’s playground, open green areas, and trees. The park is hilly and at the top is a historic tower. The tower is fenced off but opens to the public on certain dates. The highlight of the park, for me, was the fairy garden. It’s a small area but there is so much to see. The artwork is detailed and really well done.”
