βThis is my favourite hotel I stayed at in a while, mainly due to the design of the rooms. All was very clean, the bar downstairs offers delicious food and drinks and you are one minute away from high street.β
βWe stayed in the pigsty! It is absolutely beautiful. Has everything you need. Great location. And even has a lovely pub in walking distance. Added bonus that the food is amazing!β
βWe come to this site every year. Wonderful dog walks. Site within walking distance to Buxton. Great local pubs/restaurants. Spotless site and facilities.. what more would you want.β
βWhat an absolutely stunning place. For such a huge old building the 1st thing that struck me was the cleanliness, its immaculate. Sunday lunch was beautiful, with friendly service and our room was outstanding. With the winter offer it was real value for money. Our bed was so comfy.β
βWe had a wonderful stay at Combermere Abbey. Our host, Stefan was delightful, the view spectacular and cleanliness & comfort was superb.β
βVisited this lovely farmhouse today and must say the hole was well worth the visit the service was excellent the food amazing good old fashioned home made food it's been along time since I've enjoyed the vegetables on my plate this place is well worth a visitβ
βBeautifully kept site and lovely people. Best breakfast bap on the planet! Plenty of space for the tent and motorcycle, very highly recommended. Thanks guys!β
βTheyre absolutely wonderful, been using them since Podger was a pup. He loves going and smiles when he arrives.β
βBooked one of the cottages for family long weekend. Very clean, comfortable & well equipped. Only very minor petty criticism was TV was a bit small for the size of the lounge. We will probably book again.β
βGreat boarding kennels . Our Milo has stayed twice . We picked him up today and he came out of the kennels healthy ,clean and as happy as he was when he went in a week ago. Thankyou all for looking after him so well. Would def recommend.β
βThe Wedding Venue of our dreams! From the minute we saw Hargate Hall we knew we had found the perfect place for our wedding. What we especially loved was the freedom given by this venue to make our wedding exactly how we wanted, no forced suppliers, caterers, bar, etc. We had the full venue for the entire weekend with around 40 guests staying with us (More can fit in the "mezzanines" which are like little loft spaces in the bedrooms). We think it was really special to have this time to spend with our loved ones rather than just a day which is gone before you know. The marquee was a great space for our dinner and the hall was a great intimate space for the ceremony and band/dancing.... We had 130 guests which made for a bit of a tight squeeze for the ceremony as we had originally planned to have this in the outdoor area, but the weather did not hold up. Nevertheless, the apartments & staircase can be used for people to stand in. We absolutely loved the staircase for our wedding entrance and for some amazing photos. Plenty of room for guests to mingle as we kept the ground floor apartments open and the upstairs area gave more space. We stocked the bar and I think we had enough for another wedding at a fraction of the cost to provide a bar at a hotel or other wedding venues we had viewed in the build up to picking Hargate. My honest summary of picking Hargate is that its not a cheap wedding venue, we spent the same amount in total as we were planning to at a hotel or barn wedding venue, but we got exactly what we wanted and 3x the bang for your buck (Maybe with a little more work as it is a DIY venue!) If you don't appreciate other venues "Flexible" packages with the 2 or 3 different options presented, consider Hargate Hall and put on a unique wedding that you & your guests will never forget. The apartments are all large with a fully equipped kitchen and I don't think we had any issue with any of the apartments. They were clean and tidy & comfortable for all our guests. Anthony, Julie & Family were incredible, super friendly and helpful. Will was so knowledgeable and helpful in the build up to the big day and Sarah & Phoebe put in a hell of a shift on the bar! Thanks to you all and we hope to return for a family get together in the future.β
βLeft my dogs here for the week, the staff where great and the dogs where so well looked after , would take them back again when next awayβ
βI've stayed here twice & would highly recommend it, Rural location (on a farm), en-suite accommodation with access to a fully equipped kitchen. The accommodation is located in a separate detached building, which is next to the farmhouse. It's very clean & a freshly cooked to order break to set you up for the day. There's plenty of parking, I once turned up in a very large van & parked no problem.β
βWent for the New Yearβs Eve dining experience and have to say it was superb in every way. The food serving was excellent, the setting, second to none with great service, attentive and courteous. Congratulations to all. This is one of our favourite places!β
βStopped for a meal and a quick pint when passing through. Was extremely busy there were enough staff to ensure nobody is left waiting. Staff were all extremely pleasant and welcoming. I really enjoyed the food. A deveng variety. J went with my partner and kids - all are fussy eaters but there was something for everyone. Prices of meals varied between around 15 and 18 quid, steak a bit more. Really good value for money with the quality and size of the meals providedβ
βLovely friendly pub, great staff, great selection and quality of beers and some excellent food. Relaxed but higher-end gastro that welcomed us despite having been out walking all day. Will definitely go back!β
βWe visited yesterday for a family wedding and we were made to feel very welcome from the start. It is a super wedding venue and the staff were very organised and ensured that it all ran very smoothly. One member of staff who stood out to us was Sophie. She was so accommodating and nothing was too much trouble for her. She served the canapΓ©s in a very efficient and friendly manner. The following morning ( today ) she served us with a delicious breakfast and was as helpful as she had been yesterday. She certainly stood out to us but I will add that all the staff worked efficiently and calmly throughout the day. Thank you for a lovely day xxβ
βLoved this place. Our first time there for just one night to celebrate our anniversary. Will definitely be going back as we both felt so relaxed there. Beautiful settings and garden, great for heading out on a walk. Decor and ambience just lovely. Food was excellent (and not 'messed with' as my husband would say!). Our room, which was upgraded so very kindly and much appreciated, was brilliant. Wonderful views from large double aspect windows. Thank you.β
βFriendliest staff ever! So many laughs with Pauline! What a legend! Such good food! Clean and fresh rooms! What a great place to drop in to for a night and be treated so well!β
βMy son and I stopped here for a night for a few days walking in the Peaks. I stayed here when I was on a school walking trip and enjoyed it then as we walked from Hostel to hostel. I was certainly not disappointed with this visit either, it's such a historic building with all it's character and charm kept, well done YHA. The Hall is super with lots of rooms to chill in, great choice of food and drinks on offer. The staff were really friendly and helpful and kept us informed of the hostels amenities. The choice of food and good selection for breakfast was great. The rooms were clean and well catered for, we stopped in a private room which had its own shower and sink in the room which was good in the coach house. The hostel is well situated in a lovely quiet area and village with a choice of walks from the front door.β
βThe staff were amazing and ensured our sonβs christening celebration was a success. We all had an amazing time! They were very helpful with decorating the pub and laying out our buffet for when we arrived. Lovely cosy pub with good prices, would recommend to all!β
βStayed here 3 times and every time itβs been perfect. Well priced, clean and good service. My only hope would be for more healthy breakfast alternatives like porridgeβ
βNice quirky place to have a drink and something to eat. The place itself was clean and presented well. Staff were friendly and polite and made you feel welcome.β
βVery clean cosy room . Probably the hottest night ever so the large fan was most welcome . Currently sitting in the courtyard which is a nice area. Very nice kitchen area for guests use . Here for my granddaughters graduation .β
βAll perfect from beginning to end, shown to our room which was clean and smart. Good selection of beers in the bar itself. And the breakfast was simple but more than adequate for the onward journey. Top marks all round.β
βSo helpful and friendly, full of smiles. nothing is to much trouble and the rooms are lovely, beds very comfortable. Definitely worth the trip. Definitely go againβ
βWhat a great place for a short break. Loved it much I got extremely excited. I was also told not far was a local Dogging club but didn't see any. Let's hope next time.β
βIt was the first time my dog had been in kennels and it was 2 weeks after surgery so we were very nervous about it. He had lots of needs. I have to say the team were brilliant. I got lots of updates. He came back making really good progress after his surgery. So we are very pleased with his stay.β
βAlways very good,so convenient and the girls are so friendly. They've built some new chalets for the cats and they look good, clean and modern. Some dogs nearby may be a problem but they soon settle down.Drop off and pickup anytime is really useful and quick. The Fairfield is on a very busy road so be careful leaving the premises.Wouldnt go anywhere else !β
βAlex and team always look after Pip so well. We use both the Day Care and boarding and know how safe and happy Pip is when she is here. Alexβs knowledge of dogs is exceptional, has supported us in how to adapt to support Pip at home but also created such a great environment for the dogs. Thank you for always providing such a safe space !β
