I went in to buy some tropical fish and was helped by a staff member who had a professional appearance but also showed subtle signs of support for inclusivity and diversity. It made the environment feel warm, welcoming, and very much at ease. Their knowledge about the fish I was interested in was excellent, and they shared some genuinely helpful advice that I appreciated. As someone with ADHD and autism, shopping can sometimes feel overwhelming, but today’s experience felt calm, supportive, and without any pressure. Bought a budgie from another store years ago and it was so anxious that even after years with us (and another bird I got from private seller, much calmer) it would not settle.”

“Staff are always welcoming and helpful. The birds/guinea pigs/bunnies generally seem happy (and cute) and well provided for. Good selection of products (better quality hay) and a generous loyalty card thingy. Been going for years and will continue to - I bought my bunny here in 2018 (not pictured!) Parking near the test centre can be a pain but not the fault of the pet center of course.”

“Went in there just to show my brother the rabbits as he loves them so much ❤️ Lucy was amazing she even got a rabbit out for my little brother to see and I ended up falling in love with the little guy. I was talking to Lucy saying that I really want him which she told me that she can put him on hold for me. I put the £35 down for him and waited till I got paid to get everything else. I finally have him at home with me and he amazing. How amazing was it to go into the shop after travelling all the way from Gloucester to pick something to see a pet store that has so many hamster safe products, still a few that need looking at.. but someone had gone to the effort of building a complete set up at the back of the store, I’m sick of going in Pets at home and seeing all the unsafe cages, to walk in this store and see such a lovely set up, just for pets you did good, and credit to whoever did this set up ❤️”

“I visited the Selly oak store today for the first time. The customer service here from 2 young men ( one on the till and then his colleague) exceeded my expectations. Between them they took the time to help me download the app on my phone so that I could get a discount on a product that I wanted. They were both patient, helpful and extremely efficient despite being busy. I have now decided to join one of their pet plan schemes because of the fantastic customer service I received from these 2 young men. A credit to their company. Thank you guys.”

“I stay here a few times a year for work and the staff are always extremely helpful and professional. The rooms are a decent size and have a good desk for working. The beds are comfortable although there was some low-level noise from other rooms. The location is good, with restaurants all around and a Sainsbury's Local around the corner. Being close to a main nightlife area, the location is busy through to the late evening and is well lit. Breakfast is fine and there is a chef station for cooked-to-order eggs. It's a 20-min walk to New Street Station with some sharp but short upward inclines on the way to the hotel. Alternatively there is a metro/tram stop nearby on Broad Street with a direct frequent service to the station.”
