“Absolutely delighted to have had this place recommended to me by my dog trainer. We have an incredibly anxious cockapoo and I never really believed we'd be able to leave her happily. She had a day visit to Croftmount followed by just a one night stay to see how she got on before we booked her in for longer. She ate well, looked relaxed in the photographs of her outside and even enjoyed cuddles. When we went to pick her up she went over to the lady who'd been looking after her to give her a nose bump first before she enthusiastically greeted us. I feel 100% confident leaving my dog at Croftmount and recommending it to others.”

“I’ve been taking my puppy to It’s a Dog Life for 5 months now, one day a week, and they are always so flexible if I need an extra day. The cost is so reasonable compared to a dog walker, and I have complete peace of mind knowing he’s cared for all day while I’m at work. The staff are amazing – especially Louise, who my dog absolutely adores! He’s always so excited when we pull up, and often doesn’t want to leave. He’s also had a groom here and it was excellent. In fact, when I took him for a last-minute bath at Pets at Home, they asked who groomed him and said it was one of the best they’d seen. I would honestly be lost without this service. Highly recommend!”

The staff there were amazing, they gave them lots of attention, as well as keeping me regularly updated on how they were and what they were doing treatment wise. Even stressed and worried sick I was still reassured that they were in safe hands ❤️”

“I am quite impressed by this place, large and well laid out store. They cater for all types of pets small and large. Good selection of treats and food, plus toys equipment like leads, collers etc. The quality of stuff is very good, and the prices are very reasonable. Staff and owners are a friendly and helpful bunch, nothing is to much trouble. There is good free parking outside, and good access for disabled, with plenty of room inside to move around.”

“Our dog Trevor loves walking with Richard, he’s been with him from 13 weeks old and gets so excited to see him. Would recommend always to people in the area!! Richard also looked after our cats when we went on holiday which gave us a great peace of mind as our cats aren’t very sociable but they were able to stay in the comfort of their own home. 10/10 from us!”

“Took my dog, Poppy for her first professional groom and she's come back looking and smelling incredible! Poppy can be nervous around clippers and scissors but Sam immediately put her at ease and was 'good as gold' throughout. Very affordable prices and professional service provided. “This is my usual pet shop for cat food. It must be a pet shop thing but like.others the staff are all just so nice and helpful. They also had a fab rewards system for pet food, and even before that, they are competitive with price and options. Animals are also looked after well.”

“I mainly only use this shop for aquatic supplies and fish. Prices are good parking is good but some times the tanks look like they have been forgotten for a few days it can be off putting to see dead fish in so many tanks.”

“The RSPCA Halifax was really helpful and understanding about the dog we had chosen. The staff helped us chose the correct training leads and the harness for her. They explained to us how to look after her feeding pattern as she was underweight. Also if we had any problems they offered afrercare all we had to do was ring them up. Most professional. We would recommend them.”

“I’ve taken my 2 dogs to the groom room in Halifax for quite some time now and always had positive experiences. Since my oldest dog passed away I took my 1 year old dog Minnie and Scott did her groom, it’s the first time we had met Scott . He did the full works bath,nail clip and groom . Her fur was very over grown and due to her cross breed Jack Russell/pom - she’s not the easiest to get right as she’s part wire haired but also has the fluffy ears and tail of a Pom. When I picked her up I was very pleased with the job he had done! He used a seaweed shampoo which gave her such lovely soft finish to her fur. The way he had trimmed her was perfect . Very vigilant and patient , and he took great care of her and understood her nervous temperament. I highly recommend .”

“Great location as at a function in The Arches. Caution on parking, good but payable as not part of the Travelodge. However doesn't seem obvious you have to pay so I didnt notice at first and hopefully haven't got a charge. Rooms a little tired but perfectly clean. No breakfast but cafes right outside.”

“Yvonne and Mark were fantastic. They are 2 amazing people with a beautiful house. Honestly wouldn't trust anyone else with our little frenchie. Kept us updated with lots of photos and videos the whole time and it was clear that our little dog had the time of her life. Anyone who needs a dog sitter, I couldn't reccomend Freddies Friends enough.”

“Excellent priced hotel, straight outside the train station. Me and my Wife booked in for the night as we were going to a show at the Victoria Theatre just 5 minute walk away. Very speedy check in and out. Clean, spacious and very comfortable. A good night sleep had by us both. Paid £44 for a Saturday night, whats not to like.”

“Absolutely amazing shop, have shopped there for about 2 and half years now for my dogs raw food, supplements and all other treats for my dogs. Our dogs love a trip down they always get loads of cuddles and even get some treats from vic. They always stock the best of the best from vet bedding to their own brand leads harness and collars, raw food, kibble, toys, supplements and all your other pet accessories. If ever in doubt vic will always reassure and give the best advice on whatever she can help with. Would recommend this shop to anyone and everyone. And not to mention vic always goes above and beyond for all her customers and always takes part in community events like the k9 party in the park.”

I didn’t love the vibe upstairs—it felt a bit flat—so I’d recommend asking for a table downstairs to enjoy the open fire, the beautiful architecture, and the buzz.”
