“What a place to celebrate a staff Christmas party. When we entered, it felt like we were in a fairy tale town. Posh, lovely decor, clean toilets. Whole restaurant looked amazing, you couldn’t find any faults. We ordered our drinks and food and it arrived with smiles. All the food looked and tasted amazing; we all loved it! We want to personally thank the management for serving amazing food and delivering brilliant service. By the time we leave all my staffs’ faces are full with smiles! Highly recommend! “Had the most incredible lunch experience at due south a couple weeks ago. The staff was extremely welcoming, friendly and catered to our every need, the food was exceptional and the wine pairings really added to the experience, will definitely be returning for those gorgeous oysters. “Walked in for dinner. Busy when we arrived but emptied when the theatre opened. We found the service friendly and quick. Food was tasty, large portions and we would happily recommend it. Great value and will certainly visit again.”

“Stopped by The Sportsman Stonehouse and had the Meat Feast Calzone...it was spot on. Loads of flavour, plenty of filling, and the dough was cooked just right. The price felt fair for the quality, the place was clean, and there is lots of parking spaces.The staff were really friendly (Louise and Taran) and welcoming, which made it a nice visit. I’d happily come back again.”

“Went for the Christmas party night, beautiful decorations, very festive!! Good choice of food, decent portion size, good service, reasonably priced drinks, fab entertainment. My only slight complaint was the entertainment was very, very loud, Will take ear plugs next time! Staff were lovely, friendly & attentive. We would go again. I'd like to go back for a Sunday roast and other things on the menu looked interesting as well! 5*****”

“As a hgv driver travelling all over the country Thursday is treat day. Parked on Shoreham docks for the night it's quicker to walk to Chippy chips in Hove than to a fish and chip shop in Shoreham. And well worth the walk it was. Fish is cooked to order (large cod and chips) so a 10 minute wait to have my tea on the seafront all worthwhile. One of the best fish and chips I've had in my life. Great guys who run the place, yes you'll turn up and think oh could do with a lick of paint on the outside but don't let that put you off. Go in, order and go sit on/by the beach (weather permitting) and enjoy. 100% will be back.”

“We were welcomed by the staff warmly, shown to a table and our drinks arrived promptly. The food was very good and very well presented. Two had the steak pie, delicious, two friends had the Bok Burger which looked fab and tasted great too! Our other friend had Thyme chicken breast, tender and tasty. “We had a lovely experience from start to finish. We called to see if they had food and the lady on the phone was so nice and accommodating and chose a lovely table for us. The smoked chicken Sunday roast was amazing. Something we've never had before! And we had the pancakes for dessert, one word: WOW! Best dessert ever. The chef obviously put a lot of love into that. I'm sure we'll be back if we're in the area. Thanks to all the staff for being so kind on a Sunday evening.”

“We absolutely love this place! The food is always delicious, and the service is fantastic. Kelly goes above and beyond to make every customer happy — she’s a star. The only downside is the drinks selection — it’s a bit disappointing that they don’t serve fresh orange juice. For a lovely spot that’s perfect for Sunday brunch, you’d expect fresh juice rather than canned or bottled. Other than that, it’s a great place overall!”

“Well, what can I say. Everything was perfect!! Friendly atmosphere. Great service and reasonably priced. I had the seafood platter for one. I just couldn't decide which shellfish to eat last and have the taste last a bit longer in my mouth. Everything was super fresh and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend. Will definitely come again.”

“We had our sons first birthday at the kings head on a busy Saturday 1pm for 20 people and a few kids, they were so accommodating and went out their way to make the party perfect. All staff were super helpful and welcoming and Ollie was great. Really recommend this cosy pub for a party or just for drinks.”

The service is always warm and friendly, and the atmosphere is great both inside and out, with elevated views of the beach, the Steyne, and Brighton in the distance, which makes it especially nice in the summer. “Lovely pub, must admit that I wasn't blown away by the roast I had but the service and atmosphere was excellent. They also have a huge back garden which was brilliant for letting the kids blow off steam. Would likely return but to try something else on the menu ☺️”

“Went for a spare of the moment lunch with with my two children today, they had a great choice of food and the childrens menu was also devent quality food too. Another huge plus was that didnt break the bank either. My son has a PEG which he feeds through if he doesnt eat orally, I realised I had forgotten my portable blender, asked the pub on the off chance if they could blend up his meal and they did without any hesitation. They even offered to package up the left overs. Lovely little garden, lots of seating also available inside too where it was nice and cool. They also have a little toy/kids corner which kept the kids entertained before eating. Will definitely be eating there again! Thank you so much for being accommodating to my sons needs.”

“Visited on Sunday 14th December 2025 at around 5.30pm and ended up waiting about 40 minutes for the drinks to be served and then a further 1hour for our food to come, the steak was not very hot and very chewy. The place was not very busy and the staff were struggling to cope the 2 waitresses Maxie and Mia were the only saving grace and tried their best to appease the situation. The resturant needs more staff both in the kitchen and in the resturant”

“I recently tried the new starter menu at Stonehouse and was so impressed! The chicken goujons were perfectly cooked — lovely and tender, soft inside and not dry at all. The Camembert fondue was creamy and indulgent, paired beautifully with the toasted garlic bread (a match made in heaven!). The harissa prawns were another highlight — packed full of flavour with just the right hint of spice without being overpowering. Everything was well presented and tasted fresh. A fantastic new addition to the menu — I’ll definitely be ordering these again!”

“A great teadional Italian restaurant situated at the heart of The Lanes, so you can spend the day shopping and the chill and eat. Excellent food at a reasonable price. Warm and welcoming and lost of space so you should always be able to find a table. Pasta is made fresh daily. They also do a two course of three course special menu which is very good value. Nice selection of wines. Can't fault it.”

“I hadn't been to the Swiss Cottage in years and was pleasantly surprised. It has a large car park which was a great bonus for me. The food was very good, hot and cooked to order. There were a lot of choices and many special offers. They also had so many gluten free options. My friend said her meal was good and tasty. The staff were very attentive and there was a lovely warm atmosphere about the place. I will definitely be returning especially for the Fizz Fridays offers”

“Our waitress Debbie was absolutely perfect. She was friendly, professional, and genuinely caring throughout our visit. She asked about allergies, checked that our meals were okay, and made sure we had everything we needed. When my 85-year-old mother felt cold by the window, Debbie kindly moved us to a warmer spot. She finished by saying it was lovely to see us and wished us well as we left. The food was fine and the drinks were served quickly, but it was Debbie’s warmth and attention to detail that really stood out.”
