“I booked Christmas lunch for 31 . The choice of meals are very good, even duck leg with cherries. Everyone enjoyed the meals they chose. Even comes with complimentary mince pie & coffee. Well done to Tim & all his team.”

“This is always a regular spot for me and I love the rump steaks. Throughout the last two years I’ve had two tough steaks and the staff have been incredible in replacing it from one that wasn’t quite cooked to my liking to one that couldn’t have been more than perfect with no issue at all. Probably the best Hungry Horse I’ve been to and the food is very well priced. Always happy on every trip A⭐️”

“We’ve popped in a few times over the years for drinks, and the service has been a bit up and down — but tonight was honestly wonderful! Even with the Christmas lights switch-on and the place being really busy, Luke made sure everyone was seated and served quickly, all with a big smile. He even came to find us personally when a table became free, which made us feel so welcome. Thank you, Luke you truly made our night!”

“Absolutely amazing facilities. Booked for a black tie event, which was really good. Facilities fantastic and second to none. Oy gripe was paying £20 parking fee on top of £220 room booking and over £100 event booking. Psrjing should be validated and included as part of hotel accommodation. Breakfast buffet was excellent the following morning, with good range of continental and English options provided. Would happily stay again again.”

“9 of us had Sunday lunch today. A real home cooked dinner with fresh veg and home made gravy, all of us were served together and the food was piping hot and good quality. “Went for lunch and was not expecting much to be honest. We were actually pleasantly surprised. Customer service was very good, nice, patient friendly staff, just what my dad needed as he does get a bit confused now. The food was a lot better than my expectations as I looked at the menu it was very affordable, so I thought it couldn't be that good, but it was actually really good and enjoyable. Disabled access is fine. No issues whatsoever. There are steps up if you want a window seat, but apart from that, it's great. It was spotlessly clean throughout and very relaxing. I suggest you book a table in advance as it filled up very fast and it's obvious why. Thanks to the staff today, you are a credit to the Pub.”

“We all gathered at The Moonrakers following mums funeral. The staff arranged an excellent buffet lunch with large choice of cold foods and cakes. Tea and Coffee for everyone and a full bar. Staff were excellent. Food well presented and good quality. Thank you.”

“We visited this evening to celebrate my friends birthday. Our server Clare was amazing. She went above and beyond to make sure our meal was perfect. I'd asked for the chocolate and Strawberry pot dessert but they were out of Strawberries so she asked I'd like a banana instead, it was delicious! She was so friendly and her banter made our evening. Shes definitely an asset to your company. We'll definitely be visiting again.”

“Came today 17.07.25 (for breakfast) and witnessed amazing customer service. Zack was having his break and having breakfast, when it got quiet busy in the pub, so he left his food, and helped serve customers there food, and then went back to finish off his breakfast. Most people wouldn't interrupt their break for other customers....but he did. Well done Zack....that was fantastic service for your customers. Also the lady manager how then came into shop floor was extremely hard working too and didn't stop with serving and clearing tables.”

“I can't imagine visiting Bristol again and not staying here! The hostel is large, the rooms are beautiful, clean, and well-equipped. Everything you need is in one place. Want to make dinner? There's a huge kitchen (with free coffee!). Want to chill out? There's a common room with a TV, games, and books! Want to dance? There's a beer garden and two bars downstairs with different styles of music! The staff was also super helpful. I had huge boxes of music equipment with me (I'm a street musician). They helped me organize and store them. I 200% recommend this place!”

“Popped in for food as we were on a stop over from Cornwall. Food was tremendous and reasonably priced too. Had the Lamb shank and it was a huge portion. Partner had the Blackened cajun chicken and hers was lovely too. In a great location and the staff were great too. Fantastic!”

“This is fast becoming a regular visit for us. Such friendly staff, nice calm atmosphere and because they do not do food it has a more traditional feel too it. It is still a family pub with lots of board games to do and reasonably priced drinks”

“Had an amazing meal this weekend at the White Lion’s relaunch. As a vegetarian I was impressed with the range of meals available and with how quickly the food was turned around in spite of the pub being full and bustling! Great atmosphere. The new refurb has done a great job of refreshing the White Lion and we are looking forward to many more visits in the coming months. The two staff who served us were absolutely lovely and nothing was too much trouble.”

“This really is a proper pub so if you like Identikit pubs it is not for you. Not a great range of beers but the pints I had are in superb condition. Good range of bar snacks. Staff are great and very friendly. Probably the lowest prices in the area. It has been years since I was last here, must visit more often.”

There was a wide variety of food options, from fresh salads and hot dishes to a selection of live cooking stations, which really made the meal more enjoyable. Everything was well-presented and kept fresh, and I especially appreciated the dishes being cooked to order right in front of you. The quality of the food was impressive, and the flavors were delicious across the board. The staff were also friendly and attentive, which made the overall experience even better. So far, this is the best buffet I’ve had in the UK – great value for money and definitely worth a visit. I’ll be coming back again!”

“Monica was an excellent host. Checking we were ok and had everything we needed. Atmosphere in the pub is very relaxed and friendly and even the dogs are welcome with their own menu and water bowls. We were waited on at the table and not rushed for orders Nephew want a strange Sunday lunch which was catered for no problem. Food was excellent, we all had Sunday roast with varied meals. All cooked to perfection and tasty. Desserts were very tasty. Rhubarb and Custard ice cream is excellent. Apple Crumble was all home made from the apples from their garden and hand made Crumble. Would definitely recommend this Pub for everyone.”
