“What a fantastic find! My son and I were passing through Falkirk and needed dinner, not only did we call and reserve a table an hour before the restaurant was due to close, but then we arrived with 15 minutes of calling, thinking we would only be able to grab a quick main course before it closed. At first we couldn't see the restaurant, as we were expecting a frontage, like its neighbours. Instead, there is a doorway between a burger joint and a barbers. We went upstairs and it felt like we were having dinner at someone's apartment. We were made to feel as welcome as a regular guest, and at no point did we feel like we needed to hurry up. Instead the owner came and chatted to us about our trip, and the sort of classic car we had parked outside. The food! Oh my, this really was a treat. It is just a shame that this place is around 450 miles from where I live, otherwise I would be a regular!”

“Wow what a beautiful restaurant and totally different from most Indian restaurants I've been to... Love it. The waiters are very professional and friendly and the food was amazing. Really tasty, nice spice and the very nice tikka chicken. A little more expensive than other places but well worth it. Needless to say I'll definitely return next time I'm working in the area!”

“It was our first time coming to Michael’s, the waiter guided us what we can eat because we only eat halal and non-alcoholic food. So there were only a few options for us in the menu. While waiting the for our food, they served us with a bread (which has this unique taste, love it!) For starter, we ordered the pan fried scallops (5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) For our mains, i ordered a vegetarian dish, beetroot with eggs and my girlfriend ordered seabass with mussels velouté. Both dishes were super delicious! (5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) As for our dessert, we shared a white chocolate and raspberry blondie. It was too sweet for me but my girlfriend enjoyed it! (4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️). I would recommend this place, and surely come again! Hopefully they can add a few halal options :)”

“We had a fabulous meal here recently. The service was second to none (provided us with a table for 4, even when there was only 2 of us as it was so busy!) the staff were attentive and the speed of the drinks/starter/main was about the best I've experienced. Recommend the Chateaubriand, sides of potato Dauphinoise, Mac and cheese, seasoned steak chips and chilli broccolini. We also had the vegetarian Empanadas as a starter which were also delicious. A well priced selection of red wines to compliment as well.”

“This was absolutely one of my favorite stops on my trip to Scotland. The service is superior and the eye of detail is exceptional. I was here with my mother who is disabled, they escorted us to the lift and made sure it was easy for my mother to get around and was comfortable. I see the passion they have with sharing history and information about Prestonfield House, it's such a spendlor to look at all the decor and details of literally every corner of the estate. We came for afternoon tea and it was everything and more than I could have imagined. The food was top notch and the flavors were so fun to explore coming from the states. Black pepper on Scottish strawberries, chefs kiss ”

So many different pudding options, we went for chocolate sundae and Eaton mess! 10/10 for delivery! Staff were super friendly and super passionate!!! Definitely try the sundaes! Also you need to publish the menu on the website/online!”

“This place is so, so good. The owner’s were so kind and talked to us about our trip. I had the garlic pizza bread and then split the homemade chocolate cake and tiramisu with two other people. Everything was hot and so tasty. Highly recommend, especially if you’re staying at the Houstoun Manor House nearby as it is just a few steps away!”

“Cozy little diner with the best burgers in town. Be there on time or grab a beer in one of the pubs in the street while you wait on your table which is totaly worth the wait. You get a wide selection of sauces with your burger which you should definitely take advantage of. Ending the dinner with a delicious sticky toffee makes this a rounded and amazing dinner spot.”

“Came back to this busy restaurant during the Fringe and we were welcomed warmly and found a table for the three of us. Excellent, attentive service. Started out with olives and garlic bread and then on to some wonderful mains. On the pricey side, but this is central Edinburgh and the dishes were overflowing with value. I really enjoyed the Chicken Milanese. We were not rushed out and found time for coffee. Warmly recommend this restaurant. We will be back.”

The cold and hot starters were excellent, but the main course was spectacular. This will definitely be on our repeat list when we come back. Way more food than we could eat.”

“First time here and I'm so pleased with the food and service! We were unaware that they had a limited menu for lunch, so we chose from what was available. Yet, the service size and flavors did not disappoint! My husband and I both chose the same dish. I can’t eat potatoes and asked if they could change them for one of the side dishes, and they did at no extra charge. I was very pleased with the flavors, my husband too, and the overall experience. The prices are very reasonable! The building inside is pretty with some rock walls (they seem to be real rocks) and they simple yet nice decoration. The two boys working today were very attentive and always checking that things were okay. They advised my husband on a drink he wanted to have, too. We would be happy to go back when in Edinburgh again. We would try to go for dinner, though, so we could try different dishes.”
