The room was very clean, elegant, and well maintained, offering excellent comfort and value for money. “There was a welcoming Atmosphere when we arrived. We were welcomed by the staff immediately when doors opened. The pub had a pleasant and warm environment. The food was excellent with generous portions.. We didn’t stay at the accommodation but would have gladly stayed as it is near a number of popular venues. There is a large carpark and free of charge.”

“We held our Golden Wedding lunch here. The staff were brilliant and made sure everything was perfect, from the booking process to the wonderful food. The room and table decorations made it feel like we were dining on the Amalfi coast and the service was seamless. Thank you to all at San Pietro who made our day extra special.”

“Had a fantastic evening here with friends. The food was spot on, although one criticism was the lack of brie and cranberry in the pie, but the wife loves that stuff. Everyone else loved the food, the staff were great and we enjoyed having a laugh with them. Prices were very reasonable. Would definitely recommend.”

“What a wonderful place to stay. Right on a main road which you don't really hear during the day and definitely don't hear at night. I booked and stayed in a self contained cabin for two nights. A wonderful veranda to sit and have your morning or evening meals, looking out over the gardens. Amenities within the cabin are well thought out, with a microwave, kettle, TV, fridge and everything you'd need for basic survival. With a massive tesco's, ten minutes down the road in Market Weighton, a McDonald's 200yrds away, even a carwash and an Indian restaurant in Shiptonthorpe, everything is on your doorstep, for a business trip away from home. For a more active stay, Jeanette could help recommend places. This is definitely on my list of places to stay, when I'm in the area next.”

“We at paradise kennels do take working dogs , we do not take security dogs that we cannot walk. In reply to v smiths post we walked your dog on a rope lead with a limiter on so it did not tighten up, we did this because you brought a dog in with a collar so loose it slid off the dog ,bit of common sense needed I think.”

“We turned up just as the kitchen was closing down and being cleaned, however they cooked us a steak pie and chips and 2 haddock and chips. The food was piping hot, good sized portions and tasted blooming lovely. Our dog was allowed to join us at the table in the pub. There was a selection of real ales to pick from. Staff and locals are very friendly. We will be back. Well recommended. The only downside is nearby parking is limited, not that we are complaining.”

“After reading previous reviews and worrying about previous comments, I can honestly say our experience was far more relaxed and positive. Lovely location in a very quiet village. The weekend was fairly quiet even with nearly all the pitches taken. It wasn't rowdy, which if I'm honest I was expecting this from the comments, everyone seemed respectful on our stay. The pub food was amazing value for money and tasted really nice. If your looking for activities you will have to travel away from the campsite to the local towns, we travelled to Goole to the shops and free museum, good for young children. I think if your looking for a site just to relax, this would be the one and if you like to have a drink in the evening and a game of pool they have a small cosey pub on site. Showers are very nice and clean and to be honest the £1 per 2 minutes on the machine actually helps keep the queues down at the showers, not once did I need to queue and I showered every morning. It was a bank holiday weekend at the end of April, The Manager was present a lot over the weekend doing general maintenance on the site which definitely shows well as it seemed well kept when we stayed. I honestly wouldn't let the reviews put you off. It's worth at least experiencing once! If you have young children it may be best to bring more activities along with you as my daughter got a little bored but only because other campers went out for the day and she was alone, there is a small children's park for the kids though. I'd say that's the only thing missing is some daytime entertainment at the pub to bring everyone together. However the manager has his reasons for not opening during the day which is understandable. It may be a nice idea to open a small grocery shop on site? Not sure if this has been thought about but would be handy to be able to buy a few bits on site instead of driving out but again probably the cost that would be involved may put the owner off doing so. Again totally understandable. My mum came to stay in the little rooms with ensuites that have availability, which was nice and cosy. So if you have friends who won't camp, it's ideal for them to book a room instead! All in all it was a pleasant stay. We would definitely come back in the near future if we want a relaxing break. Also the pitch we camped on was very well sheltered and the manager said he usually puts tents in this area. On other sites we usually feel the wind on the tent slot but this site we barely felt the tent moving in higher winds because it's very well sheltered! Big bonus and good for first time campers who don't want to be put off.”

“A lovely welcome by staff who genuinely wanted to make our stay as good as they could. The rooms and public spaces have been sympathetically refurbished, all to a high standard. The gardens were lovely. The pool was clean and warm. Food was excellent. Howden is a lovely place we were fortunate to come across a lunchtime concert at the minster. The location of the hotel means that a car is pretty much essential ( taxis are rare). As it was warm when we visited, we slept with the windows open. Slight noise from kitchen fans and staff arriving early in the morning.”

“What a fabulous hidden gem, proper Yorkshire hospitality , excellent breakfast with butchers sausages and bacon cooked to perfection. Lovely lady owner who put us in a very large room with a very comfortable bed and some beautiful pieces of furniture. The bathroom is so nice, huge walk in shower , there's a fridge, microwave and TV in the room also. Parking is provided too . We will be back :)”

“Really nice overnight stay in this small, yet modern village hotel. Didn't eat at night and breakfast was basic, but fine. Drinks very cheap in the bar. Under £4.50 for a pint these days is unheard of!”

“We loved it. The Landlady was very friendly and allowed us to check in early as we were going to a wedding. The room was well equipped with traditional fittings you would expect in a period building. Our room was very spacious with tea and coffee facilities and porridge if you fancy a light bite in the morning. The other staff were also friendly and helpful and one of the main things was the cleanliness. It is located on the main street so a good spot for sampling the local market town facilities. Pubs, cafes restaurants and craft shops. I would highly recommend the Londesborough for a trip to Market Weighton and can easily be used as a hub for discovering the surrounding villages and countryside. A big thank you for a great stay!”

“Eaten here now on a few occasions. The food here is excellent. The steak pie is to die for and had the fish yesterday. Best piece of fish I have had in ages. Not greasey one bit. Hate fish when all wet and sloppy. Not here it was cooked perfect. Def be back again.”

“First of all I only went for Sunday lunch and was really good, the mussels starter excellent as was the pink melt in your mouth roast beef and the medley of vegetables plus the cauliflower cheese. I had the Eton mee which was also excellent. The only thing I would add is I would like my plate to have been warmer for the main course.”

“Oh gosh we loved it. We were on our way home from a children’s party and in desperate need of a roast dinner for us. I called twenty minutes before we were due to arrive to see if there was space for about half two on a Sunday. They confirmed there was space for us and set up the table we needed (highchair) for when we arrived. They were so wonderful and accommodating when we arrived. The food was exceptional and it’s not always easy to take two small children to a place that does food of that quality. Thanks so much for a great Sunday roast and pudding!”

“Had a, lovely stay I believe there is some ongoing upgrading work in progress. The lodge was comfortable, cosy and had all we needed. Sadly we had to lose a, day due to a, hospital appointment but we left feeling relaxed and rested Also we had good weather which also helps . We did have 1 day with no electricity but we went out for a few hours and all was restored later in the day”

The friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, and outstanding food make it a must-visit. Whether you're looking for a festive meal or simply a delicious dinner in a welcoming pub, The Black Bull is an excellent choice.”

“Such a nice clean site. If you like a drink The Barn is for you friendly staff Thursday night bingo and Friday night bingo plus a quiz during the summer there are lots of different acts. Children are welcome with 2 playgrounds one at each end of the barn. Sunday lunch is available 12 till 4 best be early as they are Popular”

“Just spent an amazing week at this campsite — the views were absolutely stunning and the whole place was super peaceful. Everything was really clean and well looked after, which made the stay even better. The owner was very friendly and took the time to show me around and explain all the facilities. Felt really welcomed from the get-go!”

“Enjoyed a beautiful 3 course Sunday dinner with my partner. We also stayed the night in the lovely Pimlico room with a Superking bed followed by breakfast the following morning. Highly recommended.”

“I will be honest with you, if I was looking for a relaxing spa day or two I wouldn't emediately look to Scunthorpe as my location destination of choice. But here we landed. This place is off of a main road and then off of a minor road and you then turn off of that to arrive at Sawcliffe Manor, we stayed in the rose cottage. Its beautiful and full of quaint English farm house charm. Everything is clean and fully equipped to be home from home, that is if your house has a Aga creating the cosiest of kitchens. Then we get to use the spa, this is pure luxury wonderful products to cleanse and refresh every part of you. We had a 10 month old baby with us, he loved all the water play and swinging seats as well as the baby massage lotions. We took loads of photos of all three of us smiling from ear to ear but as we are a foster family so can't share photos on any social platforms. This was a lovely place to spend a day or two”

“This was a great little find for us. The food was lovely, well presented and decent portions. It is nice and clean and a car park to rear, there was also on road parking to rear. This is a dog friendly pub/restaurant with a great selection of food available. It is all on one level, so disable friendly, it is also dog friendly too, with indoor and outdoor seating available. The staff were very polite and knowledgeable about what food and they served. Would definitely be going here again before we leave to come home and recommend it to anyone passing or staying in the area”

“We arrived friday for a 2 night stay for a wedding locally. From the minute we arrived the staff were amazing so friendly and just couldnt do enough for us. Our room was beautiful spotlessly clean too. Food friday night was amazing & breakfast both days was really nice. Thankyou so much everyone especially the two ladys who appeared to be managers fri & then sat/sun you are amazing at your job and have great staff”

“My partner and I had a lovely stay here. The location is great as it's right near town and Princes Ave. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. They we're also very helpful in regards to finding places in the area. The room was comfy and clean and provided very nice tea/coffee/biscuits. We really enjoyed the cooked breakfast and there was also a good variety of other options available- cereals etc. We'll definitely be staying again!”
