“The food is always awesome! Can highly recommend the ‘16 hour pulled smoked brisket’, it was mind blowing, full of amazing flavour. But all of the food we had was superb. The service was also fantastic and great atmosphere and cool graffiti covering the walls. All in all it is well worth a visit here! A+”

“Stayed overnight and ate in the restaurant. Amazing service, warm and friendly but also efficient. The food was also great I hear it got new owners 5 months ago and then took it from the highbrow place it was before back to a top notch, still elevated, local. I honestly think the new owners got EVERYTHING right. The rooms were also clean, inviting and comfortable beds. Well recommend”

“Having visited the restaurant twice in the past couple of months for family special occasions, I cannot praise the front line and kitchen staff enough for their whole professional service. From the time we arrived to the time we left I cannot really find fault with anything. Credit to the management team, also to Angelica our server who is a born natural in her profession with such a great personality who made us so welcome each visit, and not forgetting the chef who is definitely professional in all manners..They are both an asset to the company.”

“3 booked in for lunch. We had filled flatbread + chips for £10. Big plates of food and very tasty. The staff were delightful. There were other people in the pub that we knew and they had really enjoyed their meals too and we all said we'd happily return (for pudding, another day as we're all full this time). Will definitely recommend Star & Garter to others and certainly wish them every success.”

“I really enjoyed my time here. Went for a family meal, and there was a wide choice of food for everyone. Quality of the food was great, and nobody had any issues. The venue was clean and welcoming, but maybe a little on the cold side with the change in temperature that day - but cant really blame them for that. Staff were all really nice and gave a great quality of service. The venue was great for us as a family to come, but it would equally be fine for just a couple to go to. My only point for improvement would be the beer selection wasnt exactly to my taste, but it might be to yours. Will definitely be making a trip there again, and hopefully when the canal museum is open too.”

“Always loved it here, been going for years! The ‘good’s under 600 calories meals’ part of the menu is so good if you are on a training plan or want a healthier option. The portion sizes are amazing and the deserts are top tier! Staff are lovely, couldn’t fault it at all”

“Martini/The Cottage is a very cozy spot for some Italian food. We’d long been meaning to go in and decided to book in for a table of 6 last night. I like the old building a lot. Low ceilings, nice and warm inside, old architecture meets modern decor. Our food was great. I thought the garlic mushrooms with pancetta and cheese were incredible. Very filling and full of flavour. The veal I had for the main course didn’t disappoint either. Some of the most amazing mashed potatoes I’ve had and some very flavourful meat. I’m very impressed. The prices were very good as well. I expected the final bill to be much more. Lastly, they serve a very good pint of birra moretti in here. We hope to return soon!”

“6 of us took up 3 rooms and all agreed. Warm, clean and comfortable rooms, and presented to a good standard. Exceptionally helpful and friendly service from staff (especially Billy) and great breakfasts. We had various allergins in our group but all were handled well (Billy pinching his wife's glueten free sausages, buying GF bread and supplying Gorilla tape and glue; not that we ate the last two)Made a refreshing stay away. Any problems were quickly resolved. Thanks, great stay and much appreciated”

“Had a top-notch weeknight dinner here with friends. Well worth the drive! Service was very attentive, the manager is super friendly and accommodating, the pub is cosy and we all thought the food was prepared beautifully. I recommend the steak w/ red wine jus and the berry crumble.”

“Excellent place. Independent pubs seem to be quite rare now-a-days and this definitely is one. Excellent service an ambience. Great beer really impresses me and a lovely location. Popular indoor/outdoor space and enough parking. I always thought the Loop Road was a local myth but really is a road to where you just were with a great pub half-way round! Perhaps that's what heaven will be like...”

“Really nice place to relax or if you prefer to watch sports there are plenty of televisions around to get a good view of one. The restaurant area looks really nice however, I've not eaten there (yet) so cannot comment on the food quality. The staff are really welcoming and polite. I'd recommend this place to all. Only issue I personally have is the fact I'm a real ale drinker and they only have a choice of two but that is not going to prevent me from continuing to go there.”

“I recently took my girlfriend to Murray’s restaurant for her birthday as she’s a big fan of fine dining…we were not disappointed. From start to finish, ALL staff, although very young, were confident, welcoming, professional, polite, and knowledgeable of what was on offer. The food was amazing, presentation was excellent, service exemplary and standards high. I would highly recommend to anyone.”

“Busy, loud, super nice setting, excellent food, excellent service, etc...seriously, I wish we had tried this place sooner. Even though it was pretty busy for a rainy, lunchtime Saturday, the staff were supremely friendly and on point. It was actually surprising. The Bang-Bang chicken was outstanding! There are a bunch more meals we want to try as the menu is very diverse. Very highly recommend.”

“Great ambience. Quick service and the food was fantastic. The online ordering was a bit messy for our table as we were a group of families where each family ordered their own food. Might have been useful to simply ask for the order number instead of asking who ordered what as there were some similarities of the food ordered across families.”
