“Absolutely Outstanding! I recently visited Tokyo Izakaya and was blown away by the whole experience. The atmosphere is warm, stylish, and authentically Japanese. You feel like you’ve stepped straight into a Tokyo backstreet eatery. The sushi was incredibly fresh and beautifully presented; every bite melted in the mouth. I've tried Chicken Kastu Curry, Chicken Kastu, Akita Mango and Salmon Maki, and Volcano Dragon Maki. It was full of flavour and grilled to perfection. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made great recommendations from both the food and sake menu. The Robata grill dishes were a standout, and the tonkotsu ramen was rich, comforting, and packed with umami. A big thank you to Jessica, Mukesh, and the entire team for the delicious food and warm hospitality. If you’re looking for genuine Japanese dining in Birmingham, this is easily one of the best. I’ll definitely be returning. Highly recommended!”

“Simple decor might put some people off but don't be fooled, the food more than makes up for it. From the prompt, friendly welcome upon arrival to the quick turnaround on our order (despite being a busy weekend lunchtime) I genuinely couldn't find anything to fault with this place. And kudos to Hamza for the excellent table service. Highly recommended and would happily visit again.”

“The array of bread and pastries are great, with huge variety of both sweet and savoury options to have in or take away. Following suit, the menu is HUGE, especially for brunch, with lots of creative and unique options that you wouldn’t find elsewhere, mostly spins on brunch classics. We had the brisket benny, which was pretty nice. Pulled brisket and hollandaise sauce, with poached eggs and an English muffin. It was good, but didn’t quite live up to our excitement when we read it on the menu, falling a little flat. That being said, it was tasty and we will sure be back to try some other stuff as it all looked fab. I had a plain Crossiant, which unfortunately was verging on stale. Good flavour, but it was very hard and really wasn’t even close to my dreams of a flakey and light pastry. Oh well. The teas we had were very tasty, and the vibes in the place are pretty cool. There’s many rooms to choose from, so it does feel cosy and atmospheric. The staff were also nice, being pretty attentive and got the job done.”

“What a meal! Simply stunning food. The Church should be sold out every day such is the quality of the food here, I can't believe it wasn't busier. Everything we had was superb, but the beef Sunday roast was one of the best I've had in a restaurant in a long time. We were very greedy and shared three starters too, which were all delicious but probably a bit too much food in total for just the two of us. Nevermind, nothing went to waste! My only criticism was the toasted sourdough was a bit crispy, and I'd have loved the scotch egg to have a runny yolk. But these are minor points in an otherwise perfect meal with faultless service from the great staff.”

“My wife and I ate here before a gig as I'm a big fan of their beer. The food was really nice, the beer was great and the staff were fantastic. Every staff member we interacted with went above and beyond, even preparing and suggesting we move to a table away from the door so we wouldn't get the cold air everytime it opened. They were all incredibly friendly and helpful, a real credit to the bar and to BrewDog.”

“Chikaros Restaurant – A Flavour Explosion Like No Other! Chikaros completely blew me and my family away. From the moment we walked in, we was hit with the most mouth-watering aromas. We knew we was in for a treat — but we wasn’t prepared for just how incredible it would be. Every dish was a masterpiece. The flavours? Bold. Rich. Perfectly balanced. You could taste the passion in every bite. I honestly caught myself doing a little happy dance in my seat — it was that good. The wings? Unreal. Juicy, crispy, full of kick. The smash burger? Melt-in-your-mouth magic. I don’t even know how they got the chips that crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Witchcraft, maybe. And don’t get me started on the sauces — they should be bottled and sold worldwide. I’d dip everything in them if I could. Service was top-tier. Friendly, fast, and full of smiles. They made us feel like royalty without being overbearing. The vibe in the restaurant was energetic but chilled — perfect for catching up with mates or treating the family. Honestly, if you haven’t been to Chikaros yet, you’re missing out on one of the best food spots in town. I’m already planning my next visit. 10/10. Would eat again. And again. And again.”

“What a delightful hidden gem. In amongst the high rises and the overpass there’s this insanely tasty burger joint. Simple, Affordable a perfect as a stop in on your way into town or somewhere quiet to chat over food. Well cooked. Well seasoned burgers. Fresh ingredients. “Came to the restaurant for dinner tonight, and all the dishes tasted good. My mother really likes their chili sauce and wants to buy a bottle to take away, at first the waiter said initially said it doesn't for sell to the public, but after paying the bill, the warmhearted manager BOGDAN directly gave us a bottle and no charge for it! Really appreciated for his enthusiastic and generous service!”

We're already loyal fans of the Zizzi's brand, but Raluca's exceptional care truly stood out and made our special occasion feel even more memorable. “This place is honestly worth going to, it is not too pricey. It is the perfect place to go for brunch, lunch, dessert or to grab a drink. Menu: They have a variety of breakfast and brunch options. Although they have lunch options, whilst the lasagna (second picture) was delicious I would rather go there for desert as there are so many desert options. Food & Drinks: The food is delicious and are great portion sizes. I ate every last bite and would totally recommend at least trying a lunch meal. The drink (first picture) was lovely and so was the strawberry milkshake (third picture), you have to try this! Bathroom: Only one toilet but it was clean, had good lighting with a big mirror if you wanted to take a selfie ;) They also have a flower wall (which can be found in background in third picture) this would be perfect for selfies! Service: The service is excellent, we were served by a gentleman named Zunaid (sorry if misspelled) he was able to describe the dishes on the menu perfectly. We also got our meals within 15-20 minutes of ordering which was great. Parking: Unfortunately there is no parking in front of this place so you would have to park on side streets which was not a problem. Overall, I would definitely recommend going here as the food is delicious and the service was excellent!”

“Overall, our experience at Taka Tak was enjoyable, with delicious food and good service. However, we were disappointed by the unfriendly attitude of the staff. Additionally, there were limited options to keep our children entertained, such as a shortage of crayons or pencil colors. Despite these shortcomings, we would still recommend Taka Tak for its tasty cuisine.”

“Lovely little cafe, the is a large selection of games of multiple styles and genres so plenty to choose from! The food is a really good portion size and great value for money alongside being super tasty. And to top it all off the owner Adam is lovely and nothing is ever too much trouble for them - always look forward to my visits to the cafe!”
