βStunning Italian food! I've often remarked that after eating in Italy the British counterpart bares very little resemblance and thus I stopped eating Italian food in the UK, until now! Perfectly cooked food, fantastic ingredients with a modern twist and it seems that Brighton agrees as it is often booked up at least week in advance. The ambiance is fantastic too, with seating on high stools around the bar, so you can often see what fellow diners are noshing on and get inspiration, if not for that visit, then the next. On my last visit I had a pea, broad bean and feta bruchetta, then for main course rabbit and pancetta, forgive me as I can't remember the exact names. If you enjoy Italian food, and let's face it who doesn't, do yourself a huge favour and book as soon as you can. Can not recommend enough!β
βIf you are looking for great craic, good beer and a great atmosphere, this may be the place for you. The live music is amazing, the general vibe is one of community and inclusivity and this is one of the best local pubs I've experienced in Brighton. There is an honest air of friendship and I have had some of the best spontaneous nights out amongst the regulars.β
βIncredible food, comfortable seating and friendly staff. Satay Chicken Dish was absolutely incredible . Will be definitely coming back for that soon. PadThai was really good too, one small thing Iβd say is it felt a little bit dry more than Iβd like it, not the best PadThai Iβve had but still really good! Thank you.β
βHands down the best Bulgarian meal Iβve had outside of Bulgaria. Went to Donchevi Kitchen & Bar today with my other half for lunch. As Iβm from Bulgaria, I always wanted to share my cuisine but previous attempt have not been successful due to lack of quality original Bulgarian ingredients or chef abilities. This restaurant on the other hand tasted like home. We had kufteta, shopska salad, mousakka, parlenka and chips with Bulgarian cheese. Everything was not only authentic but also delicious. I loved it so much I had to ask for takeaway bag to take some home. I definitely recommend the restaurant to both Bulgarians and to everyone keen to try something different which they will enjoy. My partner is a bit picky with their food as they are British and tend to go with Italian food or British but they loved it too.β
βGreat micro pub run by a lovely couple. Nicely curated gravity driven cask beer, although there is a 2 line keg as well (one lager and one keg ale). Plus, there are plenty ciders, which personally I hate but they have plenty and my friends were very happy with their choices.β
βWhat a fantastic little country pub. Food is absolutely delicious (particularly the roast tatties...!) Staff are very welcoming and friendly, Chris the landlord is a charmer such a nice chap, makes the pub feel like a home. Out of all the pubs in Alfriston, The Six Bells is by far the best and least pretentious. Proper English pub overlooking the church serving great food, beers, wines and spirits. Will definitely be back...!β
βFor those who remember the previous incarnation....the food is as tasty. Emphasis is on rich flavours and not simply heat and spice. The service is relaxed and attentive, the vibe is more buzzy and the menu seems to have a little wider choice. Great to have a first rate restaurant back in our village.β
βMust be one of the last pubs of its type. One very good barman, who remembers what you are drinking, watches when you want another, and does the same for thirty people. In the heart of Brighton proper. The Pride was off when I visited but the Strongbow was good. I no longer live in Brighton but it would make a terrific local if I did. Drinks are very reasonably priced. Probably the cheapest in Brighton. I'm told the roasts are good on Sunday too. Clean, good sized residential street pub. Use it or lose it.β
βGreat experience with very reasonably priced drinks and top grub. Customers are friendly like the staff and are responsible.β
βWe had an excellent time here this weekend. The room was clean, smart and had everything we could need (including iron, ironing board and free sweet basket). The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was lovely, we had the fruit with yogurt and full English. I would definitely recommend this hotel.β
βWonderful, charming and intimate venue. Approx 300 seats mostly raked where everyone has a great view of the stage and the performers. On this occasion it was an evening with John Illsley, formerly of Dire Straits. Wonderful stories as well as a live band performing songs from every Dire Straits album.β
βI couldn't recommend the Southern Belle more highly. The hotel is beautifully decorated, short walk from the lanes with absolutely lovely food. The best thing is the staff and atmosphere though - this made our stay really special and gives the bar downstairs a real local vibe. Will definitely be back!β
βMy wife and I booked to see Venom: The Last Dance on a whim as this was the only cinema with advanced bookings and we're so glad we did! Sleekly designed, clean, modern and spacious it really made going to the cinema feel like a luxury. The sofas were so much more comfortable than traditional seating and having legroom as two six foot people was superb. The staff were engaging, polite, welcoming and helpful. They even went out of their way to offer a substitution on my wife's ice cream sundae when they'd run out of matchmakers. The food and drink was reasonably priced considering the level of service as well as being delicious. The decaf cappuccino I had was of good quality and that's rare to come by. Overall, we're completely sold on this cinema being the best visit to watch a movie of our adult lives, we will be back, and you should check it out too.β
βJust incredible atmosphere. Seats placed so no one blocking view in front. Breathtaking production of Come From Away.β
βFantastic roast! Ideal place and lovely atmosphere for a delicious Sunday roast! The Yorkshire pudding and gravy were especially good! Def recommend adding sides of pigs in blankets and cauli cheese too.β
βCame here because I walked past exploring the area while visiting for the day and could smell the food being prepared was instantly drawn to the pub. It was starting to get busy and most tables were booked but I was able to grab a space and enjoy a really good fish finger sandwich. Didnβt take long to come out, the chips were banging, the sandwich it self was one of the best fish finger sandwiches Iβve had! The tomato sauce was delicious and I found out it was homemade, tasted like a tomato soup (in my opinion). Good service, lovely people who work here and the atmosphere of the people here a good time. Definitely come if youβre heading to Hastings or if youβve live here and looking for something new.β
βA very nice place for evening dinning. Dogs friendly and very nice garden open space for gathering. Staffs are very friendly and good service. Small car park at the back and a very good location after Seven sisters park visit for refreshments or dinning.β
βWe went here for lunch after having seen some good reviews. It has a nice and light pub atmosphere, the service was very friendly and the food was excellent. Everything was great but the scallop special and the spicy king prawns were particularly good. Would definitely recommend.β
βWas here last weekend and popped in for a snack . Great staff here who were attentive but not in your face. It's a great winter pub a proper country gem but also amazing in Spring and Summer with it's awesome garden and views over the Sussex countryside. Good was great and just a great place to go. Thanks for a lovely time. The group who run this pub also run The Bohemian in Eastbourne and in the Towner light again both atmospheric places with Good food and wonderful service.β
βHad lunch with my young family and had the Sunday burgers. There was good selection of burgers too cater for the stuff tastes and on Sunday they have a Β£10 offer. The cabin fries are also a must try. Would happily go again and enjoy their beer gardenβ
βBest pub in town. It's the place to be. There is a wonderfully eclectic mix of DJ nights on throughout the month in the bar, fresh live music upstairs, decor like no other (see photos), award winning vegan kitchen and friendly staff. Couldn't want for anything else from a local pub. A total gem in the heart of Brighton!β
βThis is our fifth time here and absolutely loving it! Amazing well marinated perfectly barbecued meats Generous portions- the meal for 3- well a family of four couldnβt finish it! We got so much to go Staff are friendly and check on us Toilet was clean too Photo is of our to-go box!!β
βLovely pub right next to the station. Cracking beer line up including 7 cask pumps. Staff were tops. Perfect stop off pre/post train journey.β
βThe Black Dove in Brighton is such a cool spot if youβre into quirky, cozy pubs with character. Itβs got this relaxed, bohemian vibeβthink vintage decor, dim lighting, and mismatched furniture that makes it feel super homey. Perfect for a laid-back evening. The drinks are awesome, especially the cocktails. Theyβre creative but not too fancy, and theyβve got a solid selection of craft beers too. The staff are really friendly and know their stuff, so if you canβt decide, just ask for a recommendation. The music is great, and thereβs even a little basement where they put on events if you want a boogie. My favourite drinks are: Crimson, Kemptown, and Corpse Reviver II.β
βFriendly staff, excellent food, wonderful atmosphere and a community pub. I recommend reserving the back area for a private party. It's a lovely space. 10/10β
βWe had a Sunday roast and on another night had the awesome bangers and mash and were not disappointed with either. Omg so much food and all delish and lots of choices. Guinness gravy was excellent btw! Staff were brilliant too. Would highly recommend.β
βThe grilled mackerel was a magnificent, charred and succulent. As a solo walk in diner, I was made to feel so welcome, by everyone: mostly from Christian who goes out of his way to help you with the many great food choices while being honest. His charisma was great, made me laugh. It's testament to the ethos of this place is top notch!β
βWent here to watch one of the film that was on during the week (Urchin) and had a wonderful experience. Very smooth process from booking online, arriving and interacting with very friendly staff. Then the actual theatre. Absolutely comfortable 10/10. Very clean environment; comfortable seating; and the sound system was perfect. Literally had a better movie experience here than I did at a much larger operated cinema 2 days prior.β
βWe went to the green man in Ringmer on Friday night. It was busy as usual but we managed to book a table for the 8 of us. As per usual the service and food was amazing. You get decent size portions for a very reasonable price. Itβs one of our go to restaurants. Can never fault the place, always great food and service.β
βCanβt thank the team enough for making our wedding day so special, you went above and beyond. Fabulous food, we had meze platters which were the perfect snack. The gardens are beautiful and thank you for letting us have a few photos there! The Swans xβ
