“Place has a great vibe and a warm atmosphere. I enjoy Friday nights the most. The ales selection was also good. I always have the vegan burger.”

“What a lovely place! The food was amazing, Kristy was very lovely and friendly. I fell down the river and my clothes were fully soaked, she offered help and let me dry the clothes on the radiator. Very cosy, good decoration and lovely atmosphere! Thank you”

“Wow. What a fantastic pub. New to Cardiff and stumbled upon this little gem for Sunday lunch. Ate at the bar rather than in the dining room as I had my dog with me, but ate off the same menu. And what a menu. In a world where food for a lot of pubs is heated in a microwave, you should be more like this pub instead. Fantastic and huge sunday roast with lots of trimmings. The football was on the big screen in the bar, but that didn't detract from the atmosphere. And the lady who served us at the bar was friendly. funny and helpful. My only gripe is I can only give this place 5 stars!”

“Came in with a few of my friends this past weekend, really great vibe and energy here. We made the most of the two cocktails for £14 and had a couple of cocktails, Pina Coladas, Lemon Sours, Hugo Spritz and two Brambles, which are pictured. They all tasted great and were made at the bar just in front of us so we could see the making process. We shared a few sides off the menu, the truffle fries and tenderstem broccoli between us, which also came out quickly, they were really nice and would order again. One of the waitresses was kind enough to take our picture there, 10/10 would return again for a proper sit down meal.”

“Nick’s is brilliant. In a time where service is usually poor, these guys have always stood out! They’re kind and always helpful, engaging with children, have recommendations and always come smiling! The food is incredible; portions are generous without compromising on quality and the consistency seems to be there as well have been a couple of times. Even simple things like a Greek salad are done well! Highly recommend and will be returning again very soon!”

“Ate here tonight with the extended family which meant more young kids than adults. Always a difficult meal out but staff were really friendly, attentive and patient. Food was excellent, we had a variety of starters and mains and all were polished off with a smile. Children's food was of the same quality as well, real chicken strips with a nice crisp coating and decent portion sizes. A good selection of drinks and desserts and the atmosphere was really good, a busy Wednesday night after a cool and sunny day. The outside seating with fires for warmth looked really good. Definitely worth a visit and the seafront makes for a nice walk before / after the meal or both.”

“Be meaning to pop in for ages , so after the pier brought the kids in because I love anything bbq . I just love smoked meat my two boys had the nuggets and chips kids meal great value coming with drinks the eldest said best chicken nuggets ever and he's the most fussy person I have ever meet. I live for burnt ends pulled pork was great and the sausage , lucky I was parked at the end in a booth and the ribs hands on I was covered in bbq sauce. Staff really friendly and attentive. Lovely clean .”

“We had an amazing time at Mr Villa’s, the staff were extremely on top of everything and obliging to our every need. The food was exquisite and I would highly recommend the crusted cod to both seafood and non seafood eaters as it is amazing. We travelled a long way from Australia to enjoy the Uk seafood here and were not disappointed. Definite 5 stars.”

“Amazing and polite staff. Always helpful and welcoming. The food is lush and so affordable! My friends and I always come here, and it's become our usually hang out spot for food and a chat. I am in love with their carvery. It may be an addiction. The cakes especially are out of this world, and it's only a bonus that we get to take a slice home every time!”

“Me and my partner visited today (4th of October). We enjoyed so much, girl servicing was so nice, polite and helpful. Food was outstanding!!!! I've had steak which was exactly as I like it, there was no trouble when we asked for my chips to be cooked a bit more, Dave had mix grill, everything was cooked to perfection!!!! Beer was nice too. We will highly recommend this pub to everyone. Thank you very much.”

“Stayed here on 08th April as we had family staying local. The atmosphere was amazing there was a comedian on who was hilarious!! The owners Gareth and Tash were absolutely sound! “Booked for lunch. My wife had Spanish meatballs followed by halibut while I had salad, from the salad bar, followed by the home made beef pie. These were the 2 course lunch specials at £24 each. Both were delicious: the pie especially, with very tender meat, rich gravy and a light flakey crust (no pastry shell). Plus 2 drinks each and two coffees. Total cost £65. Excellent value, and excellent service. Highly recommended.”

“I was a kebab virgin, The workers were bloody amazing, they made a fresh nan in font of us. And filled it with lovely chicken and beautiful salad. The shop was so clean and every thing is on display for you to see I couldn’t recommend it more highly!!!! So friendly and happy, made us feel at home. Come down and try one …… you won’t regret it, amazing value for money. It’s a “yes” from me!!!!!”

“Excellent service! We haven’t been here in ages so we didn’t to expect. With the advice from Ilyas, we picked the mixed grill for 2. Very flavoursome and delicious. Not to mention the refreshing mint tea and Sabah helped us pick the best fresh cakes. Ilyas and Sabah also gave us fresh cream cakes on the house! “Food was absolutely amazing, everything was full of flavour and cooked perfectly. The steak could be pulled apart with no effort. The desert was also full of flavour. The only downside to all of it was the portion size, I would have loved to have more. The service was quick and the waiters were polite and helpful. I’d definitely go again. The menu was quite small but I think the quality of the food makes up for it. We had 2 soft drinks (pints), 2 mains and a dessert and it came to £60.”

“We didn’t eat in the restaurant however we stayed in one of the pods and they were gorgeous! such lovely little rooms with everything you need, a massive double bed, a nice shower and a smart TV. It was worth every penny and we will be back again!”

“Food was lovely. Got the set menu that comes with a dessert so was cheaper overall than buying a dessert separately as desserts were expensive on their own. Pork medallions were lovely, decent portion and the potatoes were cheesy and lovely too. Dessert (chocolate mousse) was absolutely delicious, highly recommend this. It's a safe place to go if you have a peanut allergy, the mousse specifically is peanut allergen-safe. Lovely view of the beach as they sat us next to the window. Would come again.”
