“We had a great experience thanks to Paul. We were in with our 2 kids for lunch and we had an accident at our table when we spilt a drink all over it. I asked the manager for a cloth but he insisted he would come over and clean it up for us which he did very efficiently. You could tell he was a dad as he joked and laughed with our kids whilst cleaning up the mess and sympathising with us that it's not easy entertaining the kids throughout the summer holidays! Will definitely come back again thanks to Paul and the great customer service he gives! This was in the first week in July, sorry for the late review!”

“The world is a better place than I thought it was because people like Andrea are serving people with a genuine smile and a warm greeting, and even at at 5.10am! (Monday 11th Aug). The filter coffee, which arrived in less than 45 seconds despite it being a really busy time, hits different when people are this lovely and customer-focused. I felt like a regular customer walking into my local coffee shop even though this was my first time flying though EDI. While stood at the tall tables enjoying my breakfast baguette and filter coffee for about 15mins, Andrea served easily more than 40 people, and I am pretty confident that every one of them got the same impeccable service that I received. Faith in humanity restored on a Monday morning. Thanks Andrea! Have a great Monday too!”

“This Chinese food takes me back to when it didn't taste like fast food from an assembly line, which covers a lot of Chinese takeaway's these days it is well cooked very very tasty and the portion size is huge, I have, and would recommend this to anyone, they all rave about the flavours missing on the fast food assembled food so common nowadays, and the service. I would not think about going anywhere else now and I have tried more than a few. The delivery is very fast and the staff really polite, I have read a few reviews on this and I thing they must have posted on the wrong restaurants. Thank you, you have restored my faith in Chinese food, ordering tonight.”

“Customer services so professional so polite so helpful so reassuring meal was as expected larger than I expected full of flavour, I couldn't eat all but I will make sure to finish within the next hour thank you for a mouth watering meal have a fabulous day I will be ordering again soon . “Popped in at a whim to get a takeaway pizza to take back to the hotel, ended up getting probably one of the best pizzas of my life? Got the vegetarian and the ratio of sauce to mozzarella to toppings was perfect. Thin crispy base, structural integrity, perfect balance of flavours.”

“This renovated church is in a nice area of town, and the location itself is very unique/pretty. I can't speak for the shared dorms but the private room I got was perfect for my needs. Shoutout to Ollie at the front desk for being great to talk to and give me and my friend recommendations.”

“This is the second time my friend and I are getting burritos from here and we LOVE it. We were really confused by the negative reviews we saw! I’ve been getting the shredded chicken burrito, and she (a vegetarian) gets the veg option. Can’t speak for other menu items, but the burritos are delicious and so chonky. Personally I struggle to finish it in one sitting but even if you’ve got a bigger appetite, they’d fill you up. We got it as takeout too and they’re still great. Such a great supper option too because they’re open till so late on most days — a rarity for food places in Edinburgh!”

“This mcdonalds doesn't do anything too special however I had trouble using the restroom and a mcdonalds attendant named calum who had curly hair and glasses helped me alot. He even asked me about my day and I think that type of customer service is in short supply these days. Overall the attendants do a great job and I hope he gets a nice raise for the respect and equity he treated me with”

“Placed an order to collect, pizzas and kebabs and a wrap... one of the pizza's came wrong and wasn't something we could make do. Called them back and they rectified the issue and delivered a fresh pizza within 20min. Super helpful, super apologetic and sorted.”

“Not had a bother with this place in a very long time. The food is always excellent. They usually deliver on time. reasonably priced. Only thing I could force myself to be bothered about is the BBQ sauce is a bit too sweet I love it my taste buds love it but my teeth don't.”

“Beautiful quaint hostel in a great area of the city. Free street parking right out front of the hostel. When I checked in, I realized someone had taken my bed, and when I contacted James (property manager/owner, I’m not sure which) he immediately contacted me back and came by at 11:30 PM instead of enjoying his night out to ensure I had a clean, comfortable place to stay. Overall, great experience, and a great place to stay, even includes laundry which most hostels I’ve been to so far don’t have. Cheers from Florida, USA, James, and I’ll be sure to stay here again when I return!”

“Been hesitant to try Ricebox for a while due to the poor reviews, but I’ve recently ordered from here twice and both times have been excellent. None of our main dishes were oily or greasy and they all had a good flavour, the curry sauce has a good kick and the salt and chilli chips are great. It seems like a lot of the bad reviews are maybe out of date. We will definitely be back”
