“An Outstanding Veterinary Practice – Truly Deserving of the Name ‘Best Friends’ Having lived in Brentwood for 30 years, I can confidently say that Best Friends Vets are the finest veterinary practice I’ve ever encountered. Their genuine love for animals is evident in every interaction, and they bring warmth and compassion to a field that can often feel clinical or judgemental. Unlike some other practices, they never make you feel embarrassed or lectured if your pet’s vaccinations are overdue or if life has simply got in the way. Their approach is refreshingly understanding, focusing on solutions rather than criticism. The staff are consistently polite, informative, and incredibly helpful. Their professionalism is matched by a sincere desire to provide the best care possible—not only for the animals, but for the people who love them. I only wish they had been in Brentwood decades ago. I won’t be taking my pets anywhere else.”

“Absolutely amazing vet – they saved my cat’s life! I can't thank the Mark Nelson Vets Team enough. The whole team is fantastic – so friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. The receptionists are always welcoming and sweet, which makes every visit more pleasant. I really appreciate how quickly and effectively they acted when my cat was diagnosed with FIP – a condition that many vets didn’t know how to treat at the time. They responded immediately, explained everything clearly, and prescribed the right treatment without delay. Thanks to their prompt action and dedication, my cat is alive and thriving today. Such a compassionate and skilled team. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my cats!”

Pro tip - don't go between 2-4pm as the local roads in the area have restrictions, but apart from then it's fine.”

Also a special thanks to Candi for going above and beyond to help with dietary needs etc 2019 **** The woman with red hair on reception was LOVELY! Last time I didn’t have a great experience but this time... wow! She was so so lovely and accommodating. After having a csection and having to arrange a lift to pets at home that day, she explained that I would have to order and come back the next day for treatment. I apologised for not knowing and explained I would need to get a lift the following day (not expecting her to change the rules) She said “you know what... we aren’t busy let me go and sort that for you. It will save you getting someone to bring you back down.” She asked me about the baby etc She was personable and so so understanding She went above and beyond out of her way to help me That is customer service at its finest!!! Well done for getting someone like her on board! It makes such a difference to your day when you come across gems like that!!! Thank you! Please make sure this feedback gets back to her!! “Has most of the items you would need for various pets. I have a ball python and the staff an knowledgeable about them and have the frozen rats i need for food. Staff all seem like genuine pet lovers/animal lovers which goes a long way in these kind of stores. Shoped here for many years for dog/snake/guinea pigs. Always helpfull.”

“I have been using vets 4 pets for 15 years now, staff have always been friendly, professional and helpful. Both of my dogs enjoy their visits, today's visit went exceptionally well as Oscar responded well to the vet ( I can't remember her name) and was very relaxed during the consultation. For safety reasons I have to bring a muzzle with me in case he becomes scared or is in pain but today he remained calm throughout , he really liked the vet , she was excellent with him and I will definitely be asking if Oscar is able to see her for future appointments.”

“After a few weeks of being treated by the vets here for an infection that is rare in the uk and caused by a tick we had to say goodnight to our most precious boy. Whilst having treatment here and being hospitalised several times I cannot fault this practice. He was treated like one of their own and all of the staff were caring and so supportive of not just my dog but also myself and my son. This includes all staff including reception staff, vet nurses, vets and anybody else behind the scenes. My poorly dog absolutely loved the attention he got from everyone he met there. I was kept well informed at every step and knew he was in the best hands and that to me is priceless. We have been absolutely devastated by this huge loss but thankyou from the bottom of our hearts for the love and care you gave to our baby. I will never forget it. Xx”

“Sadly had to have our kitten put to sleep due to a brain disorder meaning he couldn't stand, walk, wasn't eating or drinking and messing on himself. Lady vet we had couldn't have been kinder. Explaining that he probably had more wrong with his brain than we knew of. She treated Archie with kindness and was really patient with us where we were upset. “We came back to this Medivet after a number of visits to our more local branch over the years left us disappointed. We had a rabbit and it often felt like some of the vets at the previous branch were a little out of their depth. These guys were great and really knowledgeable and caring. When we sadly said goodbye to our old boy in June, they were fantastic. We've come home after some time away to his ashes and a wonderful little box containing some of his fur and his paw print. They handled a very tough time with such empathy. Thank you.”

“After 6 years without a dog, I decided it was time to welcome a new puppy into our family. My previous dog was registered with another major veterinary group who unfortunately have had far too many complaints regarding their care in recent years. Given others recent experiences, it made complete sense to try a different veterinary group with better customer feedback, which led me to register with Medivet. I had only had my new puppy for 5 nights before some concerns arose. It was the weekend and my local practice was closed, so I contacted the Hendon location which thankfully is open 24/7. After speaking with the practice, I was advised to bring my puppy in for an examination. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by Chloe and vet Rebecca. After taking a sample and conducting the necessary test, I was seen by vet Olivia. She thoroughly examined my pup and reassured me that he was absolutely fine - he was just passing worms after being de-worming medication a week previously by his breeder (which is routine practice in puppies). Kobe was given a comprehensive check-up, and my mind was completely put at ease as I had naturally assumed the worst as a new, worried pet parent. What impressed me most was that Olivia spent a generous amount of time with us, handled my dog with genuine love and care, and never made me feel rushed or like my concerns weren't valid. We were provided with medication, received our bill, and were informed that we were good to go. Some may consider Medivet to be expensive, and yes, they likely charge more than other practices. However, I found that they genuinely tried to keep my bill as low as possible, which was greatly appreciated and has reassured me that registering with them was the right choice. The wait time was also very reasonable considering we had booked an appointment. I've seen other reviews complaining of long wait times, however this was absolutely not our experience at all. I would like to give special thanks to Isobel, Chloe, Rebecca, and Olivia for their exceptional care, compassion, and professionalism. All in all, it was a fantastic first experience at the vet for our 8 week old puppy. While I cannot speak for future visits, I sincerely hope I'm given the same outstanding experience each time moving forward. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a veterinary practice that truly cares about both pets and their owners! P.s. I would also highly recommend that pet owners either purchase a 5-star Defaqto rated insurance plan or set aside £100-200 per month in a dedicated fund for any future vet bills and pet emergencies. You may not ever need to use it, but when you do need it, you will be incredibly grateful to have that financial safety net in place - speaking from past experience.”

“I took my dog Truffle to see Dr. Ward for his vaccinations, and I was so impressed with the care and compassion she showed. She was incredibly kind and gentle with him, making sure he felt safe and at ease throughout the appointment. Truffle can be a bit nervous, but Dr. Ward’s calm and reassuring approach made all the difference. The whole process was smooth and stress-free—for both of us! I’m really thankful to have found such a wonderful vet.”

I have a regular appointment for my pet bunny and the staff are always very attentive and helpful. It be difficult to find vets who do teeth incisor trims without anaesthetic - so really grateful to the team here.”
