“Stayed at prime lodge and after reading Google reviews I was a bit worried. But after arrival I found the reviews to be very unfair. The room could do with a revamp but otherwise is was clean, comfortable and quiet. I would happily return. Staff friendly and if you enter your reg at reception you don't get charged for parking. I love the motel style as it makes rooms much more private. For the price the hotel was more than worth it . Thank you.”

“Excellent well run cattery. Kim obviously loves cats and the place was immaculate. I felt very confident that Layla, our 19 year old cat, would be very well cared for. Kim even gave her some cat milk around 10pm each night, which was a big ask. She did decline to give her some more at 2am, but I was making that bit up. Just about to book in again. (Don't tell Layla, she hates it when we go away.)”

“This is the best location for a quiet retreat, walking holiday or base to explore Derbyshire. The surroundings are beautiful and historic and the garden apartment situated at the back of the Hall is just lovely. The Hall it's self is like stepping back in time to an era of crinolines & lord of the manor. Nothing is too much trouble for Mel the owner and she can tell you the history of the building and land from the time that it was built. My Mother in law visits every year from West Palm Beach in Florida and she adores the place, she is British and loves to come home whenever she can, this is the perfect place to recharge your batteries and experience a little piece of heaven.”

“The rooms were tidy , beds clean and comfy. Some improvement needed in shower are and some cleani g in the kitchen -like ovens but otherwise very value for money and it has all what u need. We were very surprised as the previous comments were not good at all. I can strongly recommend that B&B. Offcourse it is not a 5 star hotel and u cannot expect to be perfect but it has all what u need to rest. We parked at the front so no problem with parking”

“In December 2007 we purchased two pups from Dawn. A Wheaten Border Terrier and a Black & White Miniature Schnauzer. Parents of both were showed to us and true to form the pups have grown into beautiful dogs, reflecting their parents characters and temperaments. The Schnauzer had also been pre screened for hip and eye ailments. Five years later on, both are in excellent health, both have retained their loving temperaments, and the pair are absolutely inseparable ! Dawns standards both for the kennels and as a breeder are second to none, and i can highly recommend her. ***UPDATED APRIL 2018*** My Schnauzer was sadly diagnosed with both glycoma and diabetes in October 2015. After bravely battling with daily insulin injections, and other medications for pancreatitis and kidney problems that developed, as well as drops and gel for her eyes, all at great expence, despite being insured for £7000.00 a year, it wasn't enough ! In insurance excess fees of 20%, charges that were not covered, and costs over the policy limit, she coat me £2700 in her final 11mths. She was put to sleep in November 2017 following kidney faliure, just aged 10yrs. 5mths later I still miss her every moment of every day. I was informed upon diagnosis that Miniature Schnauzers are highly prone to both glycoma and Diabetes, and for this reason, I can neither emotionally or financially go through this stress and heartbreak again. I've had dogs all my life, but this was my first and last Miniature Schnauzer.”

“Our chocolate labrador Bailey has never been to kennels in his 12 years. This place was recommended and we (Bailey and me) had a pre visit and this is clearly a place run by someone who loves dogs. Bailey stayed 17 days and came home really well he had obciously been well looked after. I would say JOanne is business like and professional. We are booking Bailey in there again twice this year. RECOMMENDED”
