“Our Sundays aren’t complete unless we’ve had a Sunday box! Everything is absolutely gorgeous. The cauliflower cheese, creamy cabbage, perfect roasters and fabulous Yorkshire puds too. Thank you chef Croes Howell, Natalie and the team, you always pull out the stops to make everything so lovely for us. It’s very much appreciated ❤️”
“First Visit to Plas Coch – Absolutely Delightful! We visited Plas Coch for the first time and were genuinely impressed. The experience was nothing short of amazing! The staff were incredibly helpful, polite, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and well looked after. We ordered the Sunday roast, and it was absolutely delicious, generous portions, perfectly cooked, and full of flavour. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing meal.Highly recommend Plas Coch for anyone looking for great food and exceptional service. We’ll definitely be back!”
“Didnt eat here but the beer was great! Lovely beer garden that is very large! Plenty of seating, nice atmosphere in and outside. Good music, they had a DJ on who was very friendly and i think was running the quiz. Bar staff were really nice. Parking nearby. All in all, a nice little evening!”
“was absolutely blown away by the service from Hannah!! Her customer service skills truly deserve an oscar, the way she took my order left me gobsmacked, absolutely unreal. Never met a server with as much grace and decorum than Hannah. Whoever hired her truly deserves a raise for this perfect pick!”
“Great little pub, family friendly, even has a watering hole for your dog. Beer garden actually has plants growing around the outside seating area. Has plenty of entertainment evenings - quiz on wednesday; open mike night on monday”
“I really enjoyed The George when I went in there. It's a very old styled pub, like going back in time, I don't think it has been renovated too much over the years. The drinks were quite cheap compared to others, there was a lot of St Helens memorabilia on the walls, the locals were quite friendly, there is a jukebox as well which plays nearly anything and the locals don't complain what style of music it is. I would recommend going here.”
“Always good for a very good pint, good social location vibrant. This pub also has an enclosed private beer garden with TV's so you can watch your footie or Rugby game in the sun. Good clean venue”
“Good pub food. Not expensive, next step up from spoons food. Mixed grill was tasty and fresh and ice cream was good quality.”
“We visited The Mallard for early lunch Friday 6/6. My Mum had fish & chips and I had the pie (steak & ale). The food was fabulous, so tasty & fresh. But the real star of the show was Lyndsey! She had such a friendly demeanour. She welcomed us and all others with a smile and nothing was too much trouble for her! She was working alone front of house… but had it running like clockwork. She checked in on us just enough and was never overpowering. I can’t really comment on the atmosphere as there were only 4-5 tables in, but judging by the boards saying ‘What’s on’ - live music etc I’m sure it would be fantastic! We will be returning for sure!!”
“Really top quality restaurant. Food was absolutely amazing, would highly recommend, very well priced for what you get. 30 pound a head is well worth the money. This place is split into 2, one closed off restaurant area and another bar with live music, we really enjoyed it, we took two young boys with us who were well looked after. The bar area is more of a cocktail bar which again was well priced. Be weary of getting the cocktail pitchers though, seemed very lacking on the alcohol.”
“Had a lovely breakfast here for my daughter's 20th birthday, decided on here due to the name and both of us being Jaws fans, and the fact his family house is literally around the corner. But yes, typical fayre at a spoons, and as my daughter is in uni, it's somewhere she's comfortable.”
“One of three best Wetherspoons I've been to. Fast service, lots of seating, good outdoor area. Food is always good quality and hot. Usual great prices.”
“A sizzler pub, the same as The Swan. But more pleasant staff and the breakfast is cooked properly. You can swap what you don't like for more of what you do, like with unlimited toast at no extra cost. The coffee is self top-up every day. Mark is a great cook, the best. 10 Sep 2025. After two years the atmosphere has only improved. Mark still takes much care and prepares the best breakfast. It's a pleasure to have breakfast here most days of the week.”
“Really very good experience. The bar staff was extremely friendly and very helpful and the food was great. I had the steak and ale pie, which was first class. Also great value. I shall definitely be back and I will recommend your pub to anyone who wants friendly, professional and great value. Thanks very much!”
“Wonderful atmosphere, friendly and efficient staff, and marvelous food! The Scouse and Steak and Ale pie are not to be missed. The olive and goat cheese starter is divine!”
“Wendy always minds me in the crofters , kind friendy accomodating staff (even when I have my messy toddler) We're here on a Friday evening with the live music , ambient lighting and 2 mains for £13. Happy days”
“We were in ob Saturday and the refurbishment is lovely. Atmoshere is great and staff friendly. Clare was especially helpful. Didnt eat on this occasion but have enjoyed the food on other occasions”
“Had a lovely time, staff are fab and the atmosphere was really relaxed. A great place to catch up with friends”
“Called in this morning with three friends, we just needed to kill a little time before going to a funeral. Ordered four coffees and the lady who served us was a delight, cheerful, helpful and welcoming. I might never be in the area again but if I am i will certainly drop in.”
“Good, affordable and delicious food. 15 - 20 pounds and you've got a drink and 3 dishes. Good atmosphere and easy ordering system. Short waiting times even when the place is quite full”
“Great place to spend an afternoon watching the racing. Book a table in advance with a £10 deposit, which you can then use on your bar bill. Decent drinks, good pub grub too. Friendly place.”
“One of many Wetherspoons in Liverpool but we chanced upon this on recommendation from another hotel guest we met in the lift, as was nearest for us. We were in Liverpool for 4 nights, found it on the first day and visited every eve after our meal as we liked the vibe”
“We had breakfast on this occasion. Breakfast lovely and service. Coffee machine kept packing in but staff were always on it. Was busier than what I thought it would be Friday morning. Great atmosphere.”
“Staff are absolute gems! Super friendly and accommodating. Massive thank you to Donna and Chloe- both were so friendly, helpful, and chatty (you both better go on that ghost hunt we recommended!). Food was good and tasty. Smaller selection for the all you can eat breakfast but was restocked frequently when things ran out and tasted great.”
“The stars of the show were definitely Jamie and Peter . Great staff and asset to the company. Absolute gents .I've not been in the weavers before tonight . What a great pub. Not remortgage ya house prices and very welcoming would recommend to anyone .”
“Pretty much the same as all other wetherspoons establishments. Cheap beer and cheap food. You pay for what you get. Don't moan if you're steak isn't cooked the way you asked it's a spoons for god's sake. You might see a lad called Big Dec. Steer well clear of him. You can't miss him his head is massive.”
“Went for lunch the other day, with my daughters. Nice atmosphere, very friendly and polite staff. The food and service was very good. Will definitely be going again. I had gone off pub lunches because of their never changing menus. It was nice to have a few more choices.”
“Excellent service, outstanding Sunday carvery, great staff, relaxing ambience.”
“Very friendly staff and the food was tons good standard.”
“I’ve been in recently for a couple of drinks. The pub is well presented, with clearly a lot of effort going in to its decoration. The staff are quite attentive for a busy pub and they’ve foster a nice atmosphere The manager was about and seemed to be really knowledgeable about his ales. I didn’t have any food but I would come back for some in the future.”
