“I attended on Friday 29th November for our works Christmas party. There was a large number of us and we were all very well looked after. Food & drinks were great. Special thanks have to go to Phoebe, nothing was too much, service with a smile at all times & extremely friendly.”

“I've eaten a couple of times at Butcher & Catch recently and will definitely be back. I've been once on a weekday night to get dinner with a mate and again to their beer tasting collab with Abbeydale brewery. Both times they were lovely, everything felt easy and the food was banging. It's like creole comfort food, so it definitely feels pretty unique in Sheffield. They're not limited to that though, I had some amazing Jerk beef and a few other things there too so it's a bit of a mix. I loved it.”

“Reopened for 2weeks now. Had a burger and lasagna today. Food was freshly made. Burger was very testy and delicious, one of the best burgers I have ever had. Good quality meat, well cooked and spiced, home made chips, lovely. Would recommend and will come again.”

“Great takeaway, win one of the best burgers in Sheffield. Having lived in Sheffield for 13 years have tried our fair share of takeaway burgers. These guys are definitely up there. The bread is something else and the toppings were fresh and delicious. A mountain of chips to accompany, which were on the cold side, but will let that slide! Definitely recommend!”

“If you love meat and want ethical meat, then this is for you. Incredible menu! The flavours are amazing. I had the beef Cheek brioche to start and it was the best tasting meat dish I've ever had. My friends had the pork belly and it was delicious! This was better than it's Sister restaurant The butcher and catch. I will definitely be returning here. Highly recommend.”

“Having come as a recommendation and seeing the good reviews we decided to give it a go and was so happy. The staff were very friendly (especially Sarah) who was very chatty and welcoming. There was plenty of choice and we got meals from different sections of the menu as well as the specials board and it was all great. The Steak & Ale pie was especially amazing!! We didn't have starters so we could try the desserts and they were also all so good!! We will definitely go back again and even though it's a bit more expensive, it is definitely worth it!! Can't wait to try it in summer as well with the live music and beer garden. Thank you all so much. Have been for a second visit with friends to introduce them. Service was a bit slow but it was a beautiful day and all the tables were full. The food was amazing again and we even tried the ice cream parlour next door which was so nice. Spent an hour in the beer garden which was large and I would say it's alright. Tables and chairs were all solid and better than some basic ones. Still 5 stars from me!!”

“This is without any doubt, the best Chinese restaurant in Yorkshire. With a car park included, a dress code is in place, a shirt is required for gents and no shorts. Food is excellent, on top of quality and the facilities are amazing and plenty of space, don't need to be sat in less than half a meter from the other table. Service is absolutely outstanding as well , very focused and pending for any request, it is a very pleasant experience every time I come with the family. Price is according to the quality, don't expect fast food pricing for this standard and this service.”

“Last night we went to the Sun Inn, at Everton near Bawtry - another ‘new’ venue for us, and only half an hours drive away. This pretty gastro-pub comes well recommended by our local area groups, and we were most impressed! Our menu choices were soft shelled crab, and Scotch egg to start. Main courses were whole plaice, sea trout, lamb burger and Caesar salad. We couldn’t resist trying the desserts and we picked cherry Bakewell Eaton mess, and cookie dough brownie! The Sun has some great menu choices, there were lots of dishes we would like to try, so a repeat visit is certainly on the cards very soon! And it’s a very sociable venue - we were soon chatting to the ladies on the table next to us!”

“This restaurant was recommended and see why. The food, staff and location was wonderful. We had the 'while you waiting' snack - delicious, then starters, main course and sweet. All the food was tasty and flavoursome. I had the homemade 'pie of the day' (mushroom and ale) which was absolutely delicious and plentiful. The triple cooked chips (pinched from my wife's plate) were some of the best we have ever tasted. The menu is not extensive but after seeing what other diners had ordered as well, we noticed all the dishes had the same care and quality and represented very good value. The staff were very attentive and pleasant and we insisted on leaving a service charge as none was included. We throughly recommend this establishment.”

“We decided to stop by The Big Smoke for lunch while out and called ahead to reserve a table. The staff were very accommodating, telling us we could arrive in 45 minutes, and upon arrival, they had already prepared a baby high chair, which was a thoughtful touch. The service was friendly and attentive throughout, with the team recommending the day’s specials and checking in on us regularly. Drinks arrived promptly within 5 minutes, though the mains took a little longer, it was nothing too concerning. Overall, we had a pleasant dining experience and would definitely visit again!”

“We went for lunch and on arrival the place was buzzing but noisy. Being just a party of 2 the staff were very understanding and we eventually moved to a quieter part of the bar. The food was outstanding. Specific requests were accommodated without fuss. The beef was tender and tasty. We had a thoroughly pleasant experience. “Fabulous! We stumbled upon it on a Saturday night and was amazed to see the price of the v good value food on the website menu beforehand. Even more impressed when the food arrived, the quality and standard was fantastic and the bar staff so lovely. Proper homemade food, top quality no skimping on ingredients. Meat packed steak and ale pie, also fisherman's pie full of lots of lovely fish and prawns.”

“Jay - gave excellent service. A great menu that was well explained. Well worth a visit. It was a quiet Thursday evening, but everything was cooked fresh and piping hot. Jay suggested a new starter called Kastori Chicken, which was chicken in a spicy tomato, chilli sauce - beautiful and again, worth trying. The main I had was a Manchurian - medium spiced and excellent / exactly as described. Joshuary nann was delicious in fact I could have had two, one there and one to take home! Plain white rice was hot and light. While waiting between courses it was clear, that take-out / delivery is a popular with the locals.”
