“I've been here a few times now for a takeaway & enjoyed the experience,Its a real plus that this fish & chips shop does provide a very large carpark ,on this occasioni I went for the for a Special- medium fish (cod) ,chips & small side (peas) priced @£9.95 & I did add bread cob (£1).The young female staff member on duty was very pleasant with the service & cash or card payments are accepted. .Waiting time wasn't too long either as only couple of customers before me .OK the fish wasn't the biggest but a very tasty enjoyable meal one again ! I do recommend a visit ,you won't be disappointed”

“The food is absolutely gorgeous, there was barely anyone in (early on a weekday) so we got to choose our table and had quick service. The food was all home cooked really good, not standard pub food at all. Pie was full of meat, gravy was great. The pasta was full of chicken and chorizo, we couldn't finish it all!”

“Absolutely beautiful afternoon tea today for my mum's birthday. They looked after my mum's presents as we were looking around the gardens first. My mum had a problem with her Satnav and was worried about getting home, and they very happily agreed to charge it for her while we dined! Will, our waiter, was so polite, attentive and witty - it made the experience so much more personal. They even brought out an extra cake with 'Happy birthday' written in chocolate on the serving dish - a lovely touch. I would definitely recommend afternoon tea here - all of the food was delicious and my daughter loved her children's version!”

Well spiced, good amount of meat in the food which is sometimes lacking from other takeaways and the best chips ever! Garlic Naan is fab and the jalfrezi kicks a punch!! 100% recommended.”

“We came for breakfast this morning to see my youngest son off for his basic training in the RAF. We were a large party so we had booked but due to ever increasing numbers changed our booking twice. This was done in a pleasant and friendly manner . We were looked after by Beth , Jess and Adrian. Nothing was too much trouble . Friendly , attentive and efficient. We had the middle section to ourselves which made it feel like a family gathering should. The buffet was fresh and plenty of choice and the eggs Benedict didn’t disappoint.”

“We had Jess as our server. She was absolutely exceptional. I’ve recently been diagnosed with Coeliacs and this was my first time dining out since the diagnosis. Jess was super attentive and made sure I knew which options on the menu were safe for me to eat. She made recommendations and she was spot on! The food was delicious. Exceptional meat, full of flavour and the burnt ends just fell apart. Teeth optional! The atmosphere was fantastic and it felt like we had plenty of privacy. Jess was attentive but not in your face. “Party of 8 adults and one child under two, visited The Admiral Rodney today for a Christmas family get together. We chose from the Festive menu. What la lovely afternoon the atmosphere was very Christmasy with the tree up and the log fires burning. Our server was Jacob who did an excellent job and always with a smile. “This has become my favourite city centre pub. Great pub food menu & great friendly service by staff who know their job. Always a pleasant vibe, whether seated inside or outside, even on SUFC matchdays. The steak pie and mash was the best I've ever had. And their gravy is sendational ! Reasonable food prices, good range of beers. Only downside is the beer prices - £6.30 for a pint of IPA”

“Our wedding reception was held here and afterwards we stayed in one of there fabulous rooms. Larrisa and all of her lovely staff were absolutely wonderful. Polite helpful and very patient with all of our guests. Larrisa was our wedding organiser, and what a fantastic job she did. The function room looked beautiful, just as I had asked it to be and nothing was too much trouble. We had a carvery for our wedding meal and it was agreed by all of my guests, that the food was delicious. So would I recommend this venue……..YOU BET.
