“Claire’s service in the pub was absolutely outstanding. From the moment we walked in, she made us feel welcome with her warm smile and friendly attitude. She was attentive without being intrusive, always anticipating what we needed before we even had to ask. Our drinks were perfectly timed, our food came out just right, and she handled everything with such professionalism and genuine care that it really elevated the whole experience. Claire clearly takes pride in her work, and her positive energy made the atmosphere even more enjoyable. “This place actually went downhill for a short while. But leaving it literally months and fancying another burger I ordered and was really really happy with the food this time! The food was good quick however it was within the hour delivery time. The food was still warm and I don't have a bad thing to say this time.”

“Good Sunday dinner - I had beef & the boss had lamb - brought to the table by friendly front-of-house people. It's not excessive (like a carvery can be) but it's nicely presented, as much (or as little) gravy as you need and was well worth the visit.”

“Great tasty food, hospitable waiters and reasonably priced curry. They even have gluten free roti/chappati. My curry wasn't full of sugar or heaps of oil. Only negative was that the alcohol is a little expensive considering it's just small beer bottles, not a pint on tap.”

“Having a relative in the hospital up the road, finding this pub was a godsend. Excellent menu choice and unbelievable value for money. I can highly recommend the fish and chips, Gammon and the Surf and turf. Portions are spot on and the price is great. What makes the pub though are the staff. They make you feel like a regular as you order your first drink. Even though I live over 20 miles away I will make a point of continuing to visit this pub and work my way through the menu!”

“This place is a hidden gem that no one seems to know about so I'm sharing this secret with you all as I was so impressed with the food and service. I been here with my partner for a meal over Easter. it was lovley Two for a Tenner u can't go wrong here! You might think because of the cheap price tag you may get poor quality food however this is not the case here! The food is top quality at a very good price! We had hunters chicken and pie of the day (steak and mushroom.) The pie was packed with meat and flavour the chips were lovley it all came out very quickly and was hot and tasted great my partner loved the hunters chicken too. The drink selection was reasonable but its the food I will be coming back for. Overall a great visit that I will be repeating sometime soon.”

“Had a meal here with my family recently, it must have been a couple years since my last visit. I'm pleased to say that the food and service were excellent. We had the beef chilli nachos as a sharing starter, followed by a shredded beef enchilada, grilled lamb chops, chicken burrito bowl and a chicken quesadilla. All the dishes were well made and served in a reasonable time scale by friendly staff. The premises are quite spacious and we managed to get a suitable table for 5 people which included 2 children. My only slight criticism would be the music being played was a little bit too loud, otherwise a nice experience.”

“My son and daughter-in-law treated me to a visit to Chatsworth House, followed by Afternoon Tea at The Cavendish for my birthday - both were fabulous, and I thoroughly enjoyed both experiences. The Cavendish Restaurant is gorgeously decorated, the food was delicious, and service was excellent. I had the vegetarian option, and was really impressed with the quality and flavours. My son and daughter-in-law also enjoyed their non vegetarian afternoon tea. There was plenty of food, in fact there was so much we ended up taking some home with us. Wonderful dining experience and I would highly recommend booking here.”

“Booked a table as we were visiting Chatsworth House. The location was great only a few minutes away. The pub was great. A typical Yorkshire pub with the added advantage of a full restaurant. The staff were very friendly and the food was great. Plenty of parking. Would certainly visit again.”

“Forgot to take pics of the main food, but it was delicious. Gluten free garlic bread with vegan cheese and green olives to start, shared between 2. Then the veg pizza on a gf base with vegan cheese and a side of coleslaw, whilst my companion left the chicken off his pizza and just had ham and mushroom. They actually have desserts which are both vegan and gf, though sadly by then I was too full, though choc brownie with ice cream was enjoyed by my companion. I asked for a decaf, oat or soya latte, and the server, a delightful young chap named Jack, had to nip next door for the milk as they were out, which he not only did with a smile, but comped me the coffee because I had to wait. The restaurant is overlooking the pool and it's an oasis of calm in the evening, very soothing to look at. Delicious food, great service with a smile and fantastic attitude, plus a lovely view. 100% recommend.”

“We go on a regular basis, we have big family birthday meals there & every time it’s been fantastic. There’s a lovely young lady, usually behind the bar & we often like to wonder what colour her hair will be! We always feel welcomed and have a lovely time. “Great local pub. I usually visit on a weekday lunchtime. Lager is always good, staff are friendly, welcoming and very accommodating. Varied menu with tasty, well presented food. Another reviewer said they thought the fish and chips was nothing special but I find it to be really good (home made chips/batter) and on par with restaurant quality rather than pub. Make your own minds up. There's a big beer garden and it's right next to the common too for a pint before or after a walk. Happy to recommend.”

“The oak tree is one of the best places to have a drink in Mansfield it has great atmosphere, great lovely locals people that will talk to you and make you feel welcome. The entertainment in the pub is brilliant from sport, karaoke, live bands, quiz nights it amazing every night. The staff are ever so friendly and make you feel welcome can’t appreciate all of the front of house staff for there brilliant skill behind the bar and food service are amazing too, hat of the chef for lovely and well presented food. Highly recommended to anyone or any couples and family for food entertainment.”
