βI have stayed at this hotel many times and I have always enjoyed my stays. Rooms are what I would expect for a 3* hotel, very comfortable beds, and they have always been clean. What I especially like is the location, which is right in the centre of Brighton, and the staff. My friends and I are members of the trans community, and we are always made to feel extremely welcome, with the staff making Premier Inn a truly inclusive business and a place I want to return too.β
βBooked in for 1 night and paid Β£350 for a room without breakfast included (wow) (without a balcony) which was such a shame as weβd walked 12 miles to this hotel so we could have a room looking over the beach. The room we actually got was a large well designed room in the roof of the second floor. I went down to ask if we could swap rooms and it was a stern no. They are all booked. Fair enough, slightly moody receptionist. But our evening got exceedingly better as Nathan served us in the restaurant on the veranda and he was such a lovely man. So attentive and actually cared. We had a really lovely 3 course meal with cocktails because he was so good at his job. I actually wanted to eat elsewhere because I didnβt think the lady on reception gave a hoot about our stay. Thankfully we didnβt, the chicken skewers were so good and the fish was moist and fluffy. Really good chef. Cheese board was a delight and the chocolate dessert. Scott enjoyed an old fashion and mojito all really great quality. Nathan made our day by being funny polite and just really good at what he does. Thank youβ
βLovely place, so quirky , if you like old fashion you will love this place, so clean, bedroom lovely, seriously only thing missing is a suit of armour, beautiful placeβ
ββ β β β β Kipps Brighton: The Best Location for the PriceβA Perfect Base. This place delivers exactly what you need for an affordable and convenient stay in Brighton. You absolutely cannot beat the location: it is right opposite the Royal Pavilion and a short, easy walk to the Lanes, the Pier, and the seafront. The rooms are clean and tidy, and the pricing offers exceptional value considering you are in the heart of the city. While it is a basic setup (more of a functional guest house than a luxury hotel), the whole place is well-maintained and provides a peaceful, comfortable space to sleep. The Real Highlights: β’ Prime Central Spot: Perfect for touristsβeverything is walkable. β’ The Team: Staff are consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful. β’ Great Value: Excellent price point for this location. β οΈ Local Guide Pro Tip: This is a self-check-in facility, so be sure to have your entry codes ready before you arrive.β
βWe came in for a roast on Sunday (didn't use the rooms). Even though we were a little late for our booking the staff were friendly and accommodating. Food was lovely. They even brought some beef out for our chihuahua. We'll be back!β
βA warm and friendly welcome from three different receptionists really made our short stays at the beginning of December and on Christmas Eve 2025. Mary, Vicky and Mihaela( hope I have the spelling correctly) were amazing. We had a lovely room with a balcony, overlooking Brighton seafront, Brighton i360 and the West Pier(remains of). Our room was very large with a lovely en suite, a coffee machine, kettle and fridge with complimentary snacks and drinks. Sitting on the balcony with a cup of coffee looking at the seaside was such a treat. The breakfast room is in the style of an American diner, overlooking the seafront and serving a great range of breakfast with premium jams and spreads. Our evening meal was of a good quality, especially the pizza and haddock and chips. Bar staff were always incredibly friendly. Location is great, a very short distance to Preston Street with it's huge variety of restaurants and close to Western Road with it's amazing range of shops. I agree with Hannah about slight wear and tear, but like her, I prefer to look at the positives and there were plenty.β
βWow ! This hotel is beautiful. They have kept all the original features and it's stunning. We'll presented modern rooms with underfloor heating. Restaurant has a great menu and the service is very attentive. Breakfast was as you would expect lots of hot and cold choices including pastries. Pool area is lovely. My only complaint about the pool is disabled access to changing rooms is difficult if you can't walk well but they do provide a disabled loo / changing room on pool level as a back up. The pool changing area is a bit dated but I'm sure they're getting to that you can see they've done a lot already. My mum loved it she wants to go back we went as a birthday treat.β
βI had the most wonderful stay at the Mercure Brighton for my friendβs hen weekend. The staff went above and beyond to look after us, and they even surprised the bride-to-be with a beautiful room upgrade, which made the weekend feel extra special. Everyone on the team was friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. It was my first time in Brighton, and this hotel made it memorable from start to finish. We all felt incredibly spoilt and so well cared for. Iβll definitely be returning on my next visit. Highly recommend!β
βWe have stayed here a few times, as it is near our son in Brighton. We checked in at 23.00hrs, and there was a receptionist to welcome us. We found the corridors clean and carpets plush, as expected. Our room was as expected , lovely large and comfortable. Some small lights had been left on, which was a nice touch. I have not found a more luxurious comfortable bed, as a Pemeir Inn bed. In fact we don't stay anywhere else, if we can help it.β
βhad a good time there , if you come to Brighton need a stay this one is for you. Also all the shops are walkable distance very neat and clean propertyβ
βFantastic for the price. Ok its a budget hotel or top of the line hostel. Comfortable beds. I was in a 6 bed dorm. Large toilet/shower room in the dorm not down the corridor. A big +. Shower was good, reasonably powerful and good temperature control. Extremely clean. The staff noticed my disability and moved me to a bottom bunk without me asking. There was a lift which was working well. I didn't have the breakfast. So can't comment. Location was 50 meters from both the old burnt out pier and the 360 "ride. Maybe 120m from the GRAND HOTELβ
βVery close to the coast and all amenities. 12 min walk from railway station. Usual large comfortable bed, bathroom smaller than a lot of other's I've visited but adequate. Two lifts to 8 floors.. Nice bar on ground floor where you have breakfast although a Spoons only 3 buildings away if you're on a budget.. All in all, a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, Β£40 a night in Brighton! Bargain..highly recommendedβ
βstayed here with a friend while visiting brighton for a show. in a great location, close to the city centre and the seafront. We had breakfast included and it was lovely. Great view from our window. The room itself was spacious and the bathroom was also large. also has a lift which was super helpful for carrying our luggage upstairs!β
βThis was really good, the room, which had a single and a double was perfect for us because I had just come out of hospital and I needed to rest alone. My partner had the single and that suited her too - avoiding my tossing and turning! - but it was a lovely place and it was clean and tidy and in a great location. It was Pride weekend and we saw a good bit of the spectacle - although we didn't go there for that weekend but we ate and drank and name merry and enjoyed the sun and that was great. The staff were great and we were lucky with parking (they will sell you a 24 hrs permit). All in all a good place although it is not a b&b in the strictest terms because there is no breakfast - but that didn't bother us and we will go again!β
βWe had a work conference here for 1 night. The staff were amazing and very helpful though the whole event. The rooms were spacious with lovely decor. Had a partial sea view, which was amazing to see during the day.β
βThe reception staff are extremely friendly and helpful. In the early morning, the staff helped me to register my car to use the frontt carpark here. In the evening, the girl in reception helped me to find out my lost phone and sorted out my second device ti get on line.β
βGreat location at a low price. The staff were very friendly and helpful, let us keep our luggage at the hotel after check out so we didn't have to carry it around with us. Room was clean and well equipped. Breakfast was good and there were enough options to choose from, breakfast area is decorated lovely too!β
βWe stayed for a week across 2 rooms, first was the honeymoon suite, we saw the fireworks from the sofa in the room. The second was a disabled room with a large wet room suitable for my wife's disability. Housekeeping was lovely and the rooms were very clean. Breakfast was delicious, a few problems with communication on the order but each time was corrected quickly. The reception staff were stars of the stay. Patricia, Amanda and Nick on the evening staff were the most notable. The managers Peter and Nick were very friendly. Our stay was framed nicely by the sea view and the close walk to local bars, restraunts and the pier.β
βStayed here for one night , room 3 on the first floor . Pleasantly surprised with previous comments , found the room clean , nicley decorated and very comfortable . Great location although NO free parking which was offered when we booked . Easy check in . Would definitley stay here again .β
βOur room had a fantastic view of the ocean and beach, the room was fantastic and the bed was heavenly. Everything in the room was great and very clean to the finest detail, room service was very quick and to high standards. The hotel was just beautifully decorated and fantastically furnished. The best 5 day stay we've ever had.β
βWe had a perfect stay at this hotel! The rooms were very clean and comfortable, with fresh towels provided every day. The location is amazing, just a 3-minute walk from the beach. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, which made our experience even better. Everything was perfect β highly recommended!β
βThis little gem is currently undergoing some refurbishment (which is reflected in the price)but with this in mind our room was great with a fantastic view of the pier. Once the work is finished this hotel could command a higher price. The room was very clean and nicely decorated, the panelling gave it an expensive feel far from your usual chain hotel. The manager was very friendly and approachable, also he was very accommodating to our needs. Would definitely stay again and would really like to see it finished.β
βI had a great stay! The staff were friendly and polite, and there was convenient on-site parking. The room was clean and comfortable, though a little dated. Breakfast offered a great variety of choices. Thereβs also a bus stop right outside, which made it easy to get into townβespecially since parking there is both difficult and expensive. Overall, an excellent choice for a comfortable and hassle-free stay.β
βWe are staying here currently and we were a bit worried beforehand after reading all the bad reviews but honestly I believe peopleβs expectations are way too high. You really are paying for what you get, so if you would like a 5 star hotel then that is what you should go pay for. The rooms, while yes, dated, do what they are intended for. The hotel is located right by the beach so there is lots to do and you only really need to sleep here so the hotel is perfect for that, especially at the cheap prices it has. The shower in our room had the best water pressure I have ever felt and the beds are comfy. The rooms are very clean also. The staff are lovely and very helpful, so thank you for that. And again, to reiterate, the reviews here appear to be left by people who have high expectations for an affordable hotel. We would definitely stay here again!β
βStayed here as a large group of friends, the place is under new management and therefore quite hectic at the moment, but the manager was so incredibly helpful and helped us so much with anything we needed, including extra duvets etc!! The place is old, however, so windows are a bit draughty but a heater was provided in the room and once we used that, it was very toasty!! Beautiful sea view from the room, could not recommend this enough if youβre a young group of friends with somewhere cheap needed to stay!!β
βWe had a one night stay in the Owlβs Nest on our hike along the South Downs Way. A truly lovely spot to rest after a long day hiking, beautiful location, peaceful, well thought out cabin with everything we needed. Mandy and Darran were wonderful hosts and provided us with the most delicious sausages and fresh eggs for our breakfast, setting us up for our next day walking. Will definitely be back!!β
βWhat a wonderful stay! Stayed here after going to Glyndebourne. Comfortable room and really quirky decor which gives it a rustic feel. Delicious breakfast and really warm and friendly welcome. Would definitely stay again!!β
βMy cat has stayed with them several times now and he is always perfectly taken care of. He has been known to get stressed out at catteries in the past and shows absolutely no signs of stress when I collect him from Cuckfield. In fact, he always seems very chilled out and happy even after longer stays with them. Everyone Iβve dealt with there has always been very kind and helpful. They have also accepted our last minute bookings lots of times which is great. So happy to have such a great cattery nearby!β
