“We stayed at the hotel for a weekend break and tonight we had dinner here and the food was amazing , the staff were very attentive . Couldn't fault anything.”
“Pizzas, unbelievable. Burgers, outstanding. Kebabs, excellent. Curry, out of this world. Loaded Chips, extraordinary. If I only ever ate Tiny Ideas food again, I’d die a happy man. P.s.. I already have a chubby thinking about the fourth coming pies.”
“First time at The Turnpike. Booked table for 4 on line. Great welcome on arrival. Fantastic food. We all had different dishes which were all fabulous - compliments to the chef. Extremely good Indian food which I would highly recommend. Great service, very clean, good value, good atmosphere and lovely helpful staff. We will definitely be going again! Best Indian food I have had in the area!”
“Amazing food! Lovely atmosphere! Fair pricing and amazing deals!”
“Always makes you feel welcome. Such a lovely traditional pub with a generous portion of Sunday roast (2 for £26). Good coffee and a good selection of beer. It gets busy on Sunday afternoons, so the advice would be to book a table.”
“Great local doing lovely food & a good selection of drinks. Loads of seating inside & out. Really friendly staff that can’t do enough for you.”
“Best Indian we have eaten, staff very at tentative the peswarni nan was best we have had in many years, loved it, lots of food large portions, fully enjoyed, will definitely be back, chefs biriani special, peswarni nan, pilau Afghanistan chicken was beautiful and tender, we're given the pickle tray, so tasty”
“Great pub/bar. Several real ales on. Timothy Taylor's Boltmaker was exceptional. A few Belgian beers in fridge, Duvel, fruit beers. Food spot on. Tried a couple of burgers and they were delicious. Great staff. Overall 10 out of 10”
“Visited this place for the first time in several years last night and was not disappointed! No booking had been made, but a table for two was soon provided and the waiter appeared with menus and to take drinks orders within a matter of seconds. Starters of Leek and Potato Soup, and Deep-Fried Squid were served in about 10 minutes and our mains of Lamb Chops followed. If I have one criticism, it would be that the cauliflower was a little undercooked and the cheese sauce wasn't all that cheesy. But apart from that we were both very happy with our meals and the service, and will definitely be returning in the near future!”
“Good deals on drink..not 2 noises..gets busy at times ...went in 2 days running”
“We popped in to see their famed range of Timothy Taylor beers, and weren't disappointed. Beers in excellent condition and the landlord is friendly and passionate. Mrs Jones enjoyed her glass of wine too.”
“I've never had Thai food or been to a Thai restaurant, so I was unsure what to expect. From the décor, the welcoming, the cleanliness of the restaurant, the choices on the menu, the service, the drunk and not forgetting the food - just phenomenal!! Patient while we chose our food. Food was served on piping hot plates. We asked for a certain side sauce to be made and they provided this with no disappointment. The wine was cold and crisp. The starter was enough to share. The dish was full of flavor, nothing was over fine and I really liked the fact the skin was left on the fish. All tasted so fresh! They were near closing time and they were kind enough to allow me to order dessert. All in all I would highly recommend here. Look forward to returning to try more if the menu. It's all we talked about after we left the restaurant, absolutely beautiful place, I would give more than 5* if I could”
“The best in town. Quiet. Well run. Excellent freshly cooked traditional Italian food served efficiently and with first rate coffee. Staff really good. Great find.”
“Excellent pub with friendly staff and good beers.”
“My friend and myself were on a day trip to Leeds yesterday from Newcastle, the weather was atrocious, nether of us were impressed with the Christmas Market, but had seen the menu outside the New Conservatory and decided we would lunch there. The meal was absolutely gorgeous, the extras Mac and Cheese best we had tasted, pigs in blankets also great. The service was brilliant, if I did go back to Leeds I would definitely go back. 10 out of 10 in all accounts”
“Popped here today for a few beers and a Roast beef Sunday lunch. The food was generous in size, really tasty, top notch food. Everything is locally sourced, service was excellent as was the beers.”
“Loved it! We did not have a reservation, but luckily there was a table for us (8 pm Friday night). The service was good and they were very quick. The portions were very good and the food was lovely for a great price. We went with the dinner menu which is a very good deal. Would recommend!”
“Found this little gem of a place by default, a couple leaving said it was amazing food so we decided to nip in, and so very glad we did. We only had bar snacks (Yorkshire pudding with pulled beef and dirty fries). Both absolutely delicious, very good cask ales and nice selection of gins too, in a chilled, non pretentious atmosphere with friendly staff! We will be back!”
“Popped in for a family meal on our son’s 16th and GCSE results day. The service and food were absolutely fantastic. Huge portions for the prices, definitely worth every penny.”
“I love this place. I have been here multiple times and every thing was on the high level. Food is delicious and always served on top level. Service is always nice and friendly specially Magda. She welcomed us with smile and nice chat. She took care of us all evening. Definitely will be back!”
“Great Indian restaurant! The food was great: very tasty and spicy and they also have kids meals so you can go with the family! Staff is very nice and helpful, they especially made a typical tea for me although it wasn’t on the menu. Deserts were pre-made and alright and I would have expected more traditional options. But still had a lovely evening!”
“One of the best experiences I have had in a long time .What a gem this place is its cozy the staff are extremely well coming friendly and helpful . The food was exceptional very well presented and delicious The reasonably priced cocktails were lovely too I will return very soon”
“Gluten free delight! This stylish pub has an extensive gluten menu that almost mirrors its non-allergy menu. Fantastic choice and a ‘dream come true’ for the gluten intolerant. 2 for 1 menu Monday to Friday 12-5pm, too. Lovely food and we’ll definitely return. (Photos: gyros was not gluten free; chicken burger with Korean spicing was gluten free).”
“Food is 10/10, absolutely loved the curries, the onion bajis were by far the best I’ve had! The mixed grilled starter hit the spot. Lovely atmosphere and the service was amazing. Staff were really friendly. Will be returning for sure.”
“Just eaten here tonight as it was recommend by our Air B&B. Seen a few reviews on here stating the service was poor. I've no idea what went wrong, but the service me and my wife had was great. Polite, professional and service with a smile. The food was very nice, especially the pork belly bites appetiser. We went on a day where the Burger was buy 1 get 1 free, which we thought was great value at £18. The burger was nicely made, and we both liked the fact it wasn't "stacked" like most burgers usually are. We could actually fit it in our mouths. We would definitely go back here. Can be seen as quite pricey for some dishes but after the experience we had, I'd pay that again.”
“Fantastic service and food was fabulous. Steak was amazing”
