“We thoroughly appreciated our one night stay at this absolutely beautifully presented & spacious bed & breakfast/annexe . It’s the attention to detail that set it apart for us. The freshly baked bread was wonderful too . Driveway a little uneven but appreciated a place to park when we arrived . Highly recommend & wish we could have stayed longer”

“We stayed in Harry Eyre Cottage for 4 nights in the middle of February. The cottage was really well located. You can go for walks straight from the cottage of from other points nearby. There are several caves in walking distance as well. We really enjoyed a fire place and the view from the windows. Highly recommend it!”

“Enjoyed our stay so much will be booking again at this lovely cottage. Large bedroom with spacious en suite, having one of the most comfortable beds we have slept in. Great hosts with wonderful friendly service with a good choice of breakfasts. It is short walk to the pub which also serves meals, a social club with such friendly people and there is a cafe and local shops almost next door.”

“I had the pie of the day which was lamb and root vegetables and it was incredible. The pastry tasted buttery with a good crunch and the lamb was perfectly cooked. Probably one of the best pies I've ever had.”

“Hired bikes for the Day. Great fun! Nice flat track, tunnels and bridges along the way with splendid scenery. Around 15 miles there and back. What a hoot!”

“Lovely tea time treat. Fab little find, very clean (just had to take a pic of the spotless loos…) The whole place was full of great bits of local history and nostalgia, great photos and quirky art. Lovely staff and nice food. Definitely worth a visit”

“A superb campsite, for all types. Nice friendly checkin and Lovely large shower/toilet blocks and a very nice converted barn which is the bar area with a large choice of drinks. They have a games room and play areas for the kids too, something for everyone. Very quiet at night on the section I stayed in. The pitches were a good size, plenty of room for an awning on the caravan with parking next to you too.”

“Great spot gor lunch after a walk in the Peaks. Good selection of beers. Light lunches for both my daughter (vegetarian) and myself thoroughly enjoyed. Not bad value either.”

Charlotte was brilliant from organising the booking beforehand, sorting out the billing and handling 22 tipsy women! All the serving staff were also friendly and helpful!”

“We were recommended to visit here for a meal so decided to give it a go . Boy we weren’t disappointed.we were greeted with a very friendly welcome, we had a drink before being seated and looked after and our order was swiftly taken by a very nice young lady. We both had the roast beef Sunday dinner, it arrived very well presented with plenty of fresh veg and excellent tasty beef and all the trimmings. We had a really nice time here all the locals were all chatty and it had a lovely atmosphere all in all we had a great time and hope to return soon. I would definitely recommend this beautiful place.”

“We will likely come again and recommend to others. The site has a lot of people like us who live in Sheffield either testing equipment or in my case just wanted to book a last minute adventure with minimum travel. Kids loved it, making some holiday friends. Showers warm and clean but the type you have to keep pushing to turn on again. Toilets clean with loo roll. They described it as busy but never had to wait for any facilities. Pot washing had clothes and washing up liquid which was amazing as I hadn't packed them. Clean water tap worked well. Paying was slightly awkward, you go to the farm house and lots of 'beware of the dog' made me nervous, what if I wasn't meant to go there. Fair price £7 per adult and £3.50 per child.”

“Lovely place to stay! Super nice staff, clean, comfy and you have a great view out the window. Also a full english breakfast is included and you can get either by bus or by taxi cheap and quick into town. Would definitely recommend!”

“Lovely clean room with comfortable bed and a great shower. The bonus of a mini fridge, kettle and toaster made the stay even better. Communication from the host was great and everything about checking in was straight forward. Lovely building and great view of the castle. Highly recommend!”
