“My sister and I really enjoyed our one night stay at the Hedley House Hotel. The reception staff were friendly and very helpful with directions around York and to the Barbican (where we were attending a concert). The hotel was very comfortable, clean and tidy. Our twin room was lovely. And it was only a short walk to the train station which we discovered on our way back (a shortcut shown to us by one of Hedley House team!). We would highly recommend this hotel.”

“From calling, to brining in our cat, and having to have her put to sleep, Minster vets were exemplary. We were ushered into a consulting room as soon as we arrived and given private time with our cat Lulu to say goodbye. The process although heartbreaking could not have been more gentle comfortable, and considerate for Lulu and us. She left us peacefully. Minster vets had treated Lulu for 15 years; and when we feel up to having another pet they will look after that one too. Thank you. Must also mention the hand written sympathy card that arrived a few days later from the surgery. What a lovely gesture.”

“Whats not to like , great value for money, considering its the same price as the Premier inn, yet we got loverly views, car parking, a spa and 10 min bus ride into york. Bus stop right by the hotel. Staff were all great, room was fantastic, grounds were loverly. We onlt had the breakfast but everything fresh and tasty.”

“Nice campsite within a wooded area. Toilets and showers lovely and clean. Also washing up area with washing machine and dryer available for a fee. Nearby dog walk. Nags Head pub a good walk away but worth it as food excellent. Would not hesitate to book there again.”

“Great B & B. Around a 15/20 minute walk to the centre. Room was fine for us. Cooked breakfast was lovely and plenty of cereal options too. Will definitely stay again.”

“I can’t speak highly enough of Graham, he is the vet oracle who always offers reassurance and keeps me calm in situations I would most often be panicking. Great value and a local vet who cares about your animal more than your wallet! A rare find in this day and age!!”

“Beautiful room, great location. Had a lovely overnight during our 2 week UK trip. We stayed in the 4 poster room - bed could have been a little more comfortable (thin mattress, no boxspring), but the room is sweet and the bathroom was nice and modernized with a spacious shower. The location is unbeatable - on a lovely quiet historic street while still being super close to the train station and great walking distance to the center. Self check in was seamless and easy. Would definitely recommend!”

“My husband and daughter took her very poorly cat to this surgery for euthanasia. The staff were so kind and caring and gave her cat the peaceful, dignified, send off she deserved. They were so understanding of my daughter’s grief and made a harrowing experience a little easier for her. I am so grateful towards all the staff for their kindness and support shown.”

“We stayed at St. George's guesthouse for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time. The room was nicely furnished, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and modern. The host was very helpful and approachable, and there was plenty of on-site parking available. The guesthouse is a straight 30-minute walk to the city centre, so an ideal place for visitors to York who want a quiet place to stay. We will be sure to visit this guesthouse again.”

“All the staff we met was absolutely great, friendly and helpful. We never eat here other then breakfast which was delicious and a fair choice and we actually got to see the kitchen area and it was spotlessly clean and the breakfast service spot on. The room we had was clean and comfortable which is all you really need only niggle I had was TV in the room was tiny for the distance it's mounted to the top of the bed where you sit to watch it's not the best, but thats just for us.”

“We came for the sleigh ride and wow, what an experience for our four year old son (and us!). The whole set up was so well organised. It looked fantastic and such lovely little details throughout (the passport stamps, the hydraulics on the sleigh etc). Santa was brilliant and the toy shop was amazing for the kids to choose what they wanted. The whole place was really well laid out, decorated and very tidy. The toilets were spotless and the food and drink prices were very reasonable. However what really made it was all the staff. From start to finish they were energetic, enthusiastic and really made for such a special day. Memories to last forever and everyone involved deserves so much credit. So glad we made the trip up.”

“We regularly leave our cat, Teddy, here in this home from home cattery. He settles in well and is looked after with cuddles and attention by the caring staff. Teddy is returning in March for another holiday! We highly recommend Aristocats to any cat.”

“Stayed at the inn for the weekend. Rooms are nice and clean. Right next to the pub, but you can't hear it, even the live music. Pub is lovely. Maybe the menu is lacking choice, but the pizzas are really delicious. Parking doesn't have number plate recognition anymore so no issues with it. There's no breakfast, but café across the road is serving sandwiches and cakes.”

“The Viking accommodation is located just a short distance from the centre. Very quiet during the night. The gentleman that greeted me was very friendly. He explained about all the attractions of this lovely city, and then showed me a tourist map of how to get to them. All together a very positive experience.”

“First time aquarium builder. Went to Maidenhead Aquatics Leeds North just for the fish tank but came back with everything I needed to get started right away! Sharon was very patient and helpful and recommended everything I needed to get started on my aquascape. Got her to thank for this good looking (for my standards at least...), tank!”

“Had a lovely meal Saturday evening, the chef accommodated us, even though we were very late(not our fault) only a few minutes before last food order, he produced a delicious curry for me and delicious fish and chips for my husband. So we decided to book for Sunday carvery. Absolutely delicious with an excellent choice of vegetables and trimmings with a good choice of meats, all very hot, very tasty, well presented by a friendly chef”

“Great location and atmosphere! We were here for a family birthday (party of 7) on a busy Sunday. Food was not only more than great but served altogether in a timely manner. Everyone including the kids enjoyed there food with enough choice to suit everyone. Staff were attentive and polite. Overall great experience!”

“We have had a delightful stay. A lovely independent hotel where every one tried their best to make sure we had everything we needed. The bedrooms were themed to plants. Ours was Papaya, and it was clean and very comfortable. A top class breakfast cooked to order. I can recommend the full English and Eggs Benedict. If we had stayed another day, I would have tried the salmon and scrambled eggs.”

“Got registered over the phone on the day I became concerned with my cats health, the vet saw him the very same day and was kind giving the bad news. The next week the girls on reception were extremely helpful and mindful when I brought him in to be cremated, again on the same day I called. The whole team was quick to help and we couldn't be more satisfied with the care my pet was given here.”

“Emily is an amazing groomer and has looked after our rough coated Brussels Griffon, Pippa, for the last two years. She has a relaxed way which instantly puts our dog at ease, gives a great breed-specific cut and in under an hour is returned to us tail wagging, looking and smelling amazing! Can’t recommend highly enough.”

“Amazing company! I have used them for a variety of Hypoallergenic food needs and medication for various issues. I have also used there remote video vet consultation when one was required on the weekend for us. It was really straight forward, video was commenced by purely clicking a link by text message on my phone which is really wonderful as it means I didnt have to wrestle installing any apps. The Vet was very helpful and professional and gave us the advice we required. Incredible price as well. This is a great company, will continue to use them as our go to site for our needs.”

“Karen at All Four Paws is great with our over excited 1 and a half year old Labrador. She comes and collects her while we're out at work and Luna loves her. Karen always sends us photos of the fun she's had on the walk and the friends she's made. She comes back tired out and we can see on the camera that she sleeps until we get back from work. We can't recommend her enough.”
