“I picked this place for my final dinner after a week in Scotland, and I’m happy to say I wasn’t disappointed. The smoked trout from the Belhaven duo was absolutely fantastic—one of the best I’ve ever had! The smoked salmon that came with it was a bit underwhelming, but that’s probably because the trout stole the spotlight. The haggis was by far the best I had during my entire stay (trust me, I made sure to try it at several places), and the lobster was the perfect finish to the meal. Definitely recommend this spot for a great fine dining experience.”

“The restaurant is bigger than it looks from outside ! It has an incredibly varied menu including the usual Indian favourites but also a vast choice of speciality Nepalese dishes and even British choices for the less adventurous. Attentive and fast service. There were a few steps down to the tables area within the restaurant, but I saw a gentleman with a walking frame negotiate them.”

“I've been coming to The Bay Leaf for years, and it never disappoints, We’ve honestly never had a bad meal here, whether eating in or getting a takeaway, the food is always spot on and full of flavour. The quality and consistency are amazing every single time. We’re really lucky to have such a great Indian restaurant nearby. Highly recommend !”

“Lovely restaurant in a fantastic hotel. Our only meal here was breakfast and our full Scottish breakfast is excellent. Breakfast was also well done. In the evening the restaurant and bar are packed. This is obviously a place to go. Prices good. Attentive and professional staff.”

“We were gifted a voucher for Dinner Bed &Breakfast as we decided to stay Sunday to Monday we opted for Sunday late lunch and the Bed & Breakfast. From when we arrived we had a very friendly welcome from the reception staff, we were given all the information details. The room was very clean with everything needed for our stay . We had a 3 course lunch which was excellent and the best Sunday lunch we have had in a very long time. As it was an anniversary we had complementary Champagne, the service was exceptional with at least 3 different staff attending us nothing was too much trouble and at the end of the meal we were given a plate with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate with Turkish delight and chocolates very nice touch. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and again excellent service would like to thank Kirsty and all the staff we will definitely come back. Ann and Andy Brown”

“Didn’t try many items, although the ones we tried were really good, South Indian food( masala dosa and mendhu vada) was very traditionally cooked, so was the indo-chinese chilli chicken. Service is a bit slow, waited 40 mins although there were just 2 people in the restaurant other than us. So make sure to order everything at once so that you don’t have to wait midway through for additional dishes.”

“We booked a table for 7 for a family get together for my wife's birthday. We have eclectic tastes and the all you can eat buffet catered for them all. Food was beautifully cooked and service impeccable. Highly recommend the Lamb Bhuna and Indian Chilli Chicken . Will be back.”

“What a great menu of food, the staff are very warming and great with the Indian and Nepalese knowledge of cuisine. We had Chicken Pakora and Onion Baji to start then a Lamb Chasni and Chicken Tikka Khardhi. Dishes were well presented and tasted amazing”

“Lovely Italian restaurant. Food was of very high quality, delicious, and plenty to choose from! Went here for my birthday meal with my family. The waitresses overheard it was my birthday and personalised my desert, with a birthday candle, and played happy birthday over the speakers - which was a wonderful surprise! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a great place to eat, or just visiting Dunfermline, with high quality food across the menu. The pasta dish, and red velvet cake I had, were the best I’ve had all year!”

“Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location in the city, but not too busy of a spot, so no loud noises waking you up. Rooms are very comfortable, bed was soft and cushioned but supportive, very comfortable. We had room service the first night since we got in kind of late. Food was pretty good. Would stay here again and highly recommend the hotel.”

The seafood chowder was rich and comforting, and the main dish was beautifully cooked and presented. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere felt cozy and welcoming. “Review is for the space menu, aperitif and surprise course for £35- For the price I highly recommend! It’s easy to spend £30-40 on dinner in downtown Edinburgh, so you might as well do it in style! It is not a Michelin experience, but they do a very good job at getting as close as possible for the price. Try to come with one of their special deals :) ambiance was great and felt very upscale. The servers were all very very friendly, the service was speedy, we got fun explanations for each wine pairing and each course. Wine pairings were great and good value, definitely recommend for £30. Overall so fun and many yummy dishes, and didn’t feel rushed. They really try to surprise and delight you. I read some recommendations which say the portions are too small, I disagree with this. I was very stuffed when the desert course came (in combo with wine pairings). Some more detailed review on food quality for the corporate head who decides the menus, guessing this has nothing to do with the chefs at this branch as the food looks exactly like the promos for their London branch and was executed technically very well: - Surprise course was soooo fun in concept but too much gel-ing agent was used (maybe agar?) a bit gummy and not enough flavor. Great presentation! - gorgeous oyster course, perfect! -terrine could have been thinner in my opinion but very fun and flavorful course - folks at my table loved the potato, sauce was great. Due to egg it wasn’t a stand out for me - risotto course was yum and wine paired well - flat iron for me was best savory course of the evening, every element was so delish! Truly impressive course. Perfectly cooked meat, sauces were varied and delish -dessert was hands down best course, soooo gorgeous, perfect wine, no notes. My only sadness was not having enough room to finish the whole thing”
