“Beautiful stay again at Thornton Hall hotel. Old school service where customers are valued, the staff are so friendly. Rooms are spotless and so comfortable. Great deals at the moment where you can use the spa as well. The spa is a special place so relaxing. Just love this hotel I have been many times and just feel it gets better with each visit.”

“We had our wedding here in July 2024. What an amazing day it was. The staff were brilliant and couldn’t do enough! Everything we needed was included in the dream wedding package. From the ceremony set up, to the reception to the food and the evening party, everything was how I wanted it and nothing was to much. I would definitely recommend rossett hall. We will never forget our special day and all the effort that you put in to it.”

“We cannot recommend ChesterGates emergency vets highly enough. Our 9 week old kitten was admitted as an emergency with breathing difficulties just before Christmas. He was diagnosed with a disphragmatic hernia and, as he was not breathing normally without oxygen, his only hope was high risk surgery which had never been performed on a kitten so young. Today, Christmas Day, he came home to us - our Christmas miracle. The staff at ChesterGates are amazing people, doing amazing things in the most caring way.”

“We have only just started using this groomers and I am so pleased with how they have managed and dealt with a very anxious dog at the groomers. First off the cut was the best we have had, taking the time to do what we asked and not just clip and take the easy option. They have invested their time to try and help my dog and relieve her anxiety, which is above and beyond any expectations. I am hopeful that with this commitment my dog's anxiety will be eased. A great service from super friendly and very caring, dog-loving groomers. Thank you.”

“We enjoyed a lovely overnight stay in this traditional pub with guestrooms above. The pub itself is large with plenty of informal bar dining areas as well as a more formal table service section. We ordered a pizza to share and although it wasn't outstanding, it was very tasty and the right price point. The breakfast the next morning was also good. The sausage was really tasty and good quality. We stayed in room 1 which was a very small double with an ensuite. Decent shower. I knocked a star off the room as I discovered the room didn't have a hairdryer as advertised and I only discovered this after I had got out of the shower. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and I'm sure they would have got one for me if I had noticed earlier but I didn't want to have to get dressed and go downstairs wet. We would definitely stay again.”

“The hotel was very nice, reception were friendly and informative. The bar area was a nice space, cocktails were really good as were the fresh coffees, the staff were friendly whilst professional at all times. Breakfast was very good too, constantly topped up with fresh food, decent variety of food on offer. The whole team throughout the hotel work extremely efficiently. You can often judge a place by their reaction when things go wrong and there was a very difficult intoxicated man in the bar area on Friday evening. The staff worked swiftly, professionally & effectively in removing him without disruption to other guests.”

“We stayed here for the Chester marathon and had a lovely time. The staff were super friendly and the room was lovely. Breakfast was nice with plenty of options and it had free parking for hotel guests. The hotel was about 20/30 mins walk into the city centre. Thanks :)”

“A great Wetherspoons location. Hot food, friendly staff, reasonable prices, and it doesn't get too busy unless you pop in at peak times. Overall, a solid recommendation for a pint or a quick bite!”

“We didn't stay over but the food was top class. I had chicken stuffed with haggis on top of mash and carrot and turnip, it was so good. The wife had a brisket sandwich which came with salad and chips, she was very impressed. That and a pint cost less than fifty quid.”

“Went in for dinner after wet day at the zoo. Pub was nice and warm when walked in and straight away the smell of the food in carvery smelt fantastic. Bar staff were welcoming young lady that served me I think was called Lindsey. We all ordered a soft drink and carvery each( 3 adults 2 children) chefs working on carvery one was Kenny didn't catch the other lads name but both were very pleasant. Young lady called Ellie brought are deserts who was also very attentive and smilie.”

“We rented their apartment unit with my parents to visit family in the Chester area. We stayed for 5 days. It was the best decision we ever made. The staff was courteous, the location is more than ideal. There are many shops in the area to get snacks or take-out. We never cooked, except for breakfast, but there is a fully loaded kitchen. It was clean and stylish, and close to everything. About a 5 min cab ride to the train station, and a five minute walk to major shopping and historical sites. They made cots available to us, and helped us with directions, or trouble shooting with the washing machine (included in the laundry room). Very reasonably priced, we found, as well. Would recommend to anyone, our relatives will be doing the same, hope to be back to visit another time!”

“We enjoyed our time at Rowton Hall. The beautiful Georgian setting offers a genuine escape, and the experience was great. The spa facilities were very relaxing. Our room was nice—it was clean, spacious, and provided a comfortable base for our stay. A special mention must go to the staff; the hotel receptionist was lovely, helpful, and attentive throughout our visit, making us feel genuinely welcome.”

“Room was large and very spacious. With an en-suite, plus there is a separate communal bathroom next door. Tea and Coffee facilities provided in room. Location is a short 15 mins walk into Chester, with a 5 mins walk to Hoole which is full of shops and cafes.”

“I can’t recommend Swettenham Chemists enough. The staff is friendly, knowledgable, attentive and extremely helpful. Nothing is too much trouble (they have helped me so much is getting my prescriptions when the doctor has been unresponsive).”

“I hope I’m remembering her name correctly ! I believe it was Fiona from the bobbi brown counter. She is incredible. I came in looking for Charlotte tilbury but glad I left having bought the bobbi brown foundation for dry skin. Can confirm I’ve just done a 10 hour shift wearing this foundation that I bought this morning, and it’s hasn’t budged ! Most foundations only showcase and highlight my dry skin and texture more, but this foundation is perfect, as Fiona reassured me it was. It’s incredibly hydrating. Fiona is amazing, she really took the time to make sure the foundation was the right shade for me and that it worked for my dry skin. She even recommended a primer, too. I hope someone from the team sees this and gives her a massive round of applause, she was a dream! - Sophie :) xx”

“Bear has been attending here since he was a puppy. Made lots of puppy friends. We also made a few friends and have learned so much from the very knowledgeable and helpful staff, in particular one young lady Toni. She advised what types of food, snacks and toys he should have on his puppy journey. She also introduced us to the vets upstairs where he is now registered and enjoys going to see them whenever we are in the shop.”

“I bought a beautiful headrest from The Stripes Company. I'm absolutely thrilled with it. The fabric is such good quality and the colours are stunning. Great workmanship too. The shape and size is perfect for my Adirondack garden chair and it has totally transformed it. I would definitely buy from them again.”

The spa facilities gave me a much needed reset along with the treatment, I felt like all the stress had left my body instantly. The room was spacious, homely, so clean and the bed was divine. “I've recently moved to this pharmacy for my repeat prescriptions, due to problems with my previous one. Can't fault the service from Boots. Always have my items ready on time and gave me great advice on why a certain prescription couldn't be filled, whereas my previously pharmacy just said no. It was sorted swiftly and the team are always so lovely and willing to help. Yes, it can take a while to get through on the phone and yes, sometimes you may have to queue for a little while, but this is a nationwide issue in most places. I have no problems with this pharmacy and very happy I swapped to them!”
