Staff are really nice and give good customer service especially the man with the dark hair and beard, my dog is an older rescue and he gave me some good advice when we first took him in as my dog was quite stressed out between the vets and upheaval. “Beautiful quaint hostel in a great area of the city. Free street parking right out front of the hostel. When I checked in, I realized someone had taken my bed, and when I contacted James (property manager/owner, I’m not sure which) he immediately contacted me back and came by at 11:30 PM instead of enjoying his night out to ensure I had a clean, comfortable place to stay. Overall, great experience, and a great place to stay, even includes laundry which most hostels I’ve been to so far don’t have. Cheers from Florida, USA, James, and I’ll be sure to stay here again when I return!”

“Went to pick up my husband’s large prescription today which included continence products that are heavy to carry. I asked if it was possible if the continence products could be delivered as I have a shoulder injury at the moment and they said yes they could do that and they would deliver all future prescriptions. This came as much relief to me as I had been struggling to carry them in the past. The staff were great and very understanding. So a great big thank you to the team at Stenhouse Cross. “Shame about the bad reviews. Me and my partner really enjoyed it and it's the best cafe we have been to for any zoo's we have visited. My partner ordered a Bacon Roll - it was cooked fresh and was £3 which we thought was a good price. I had Scone which had butter and TipTree Jam, I was given it on a plate in a bag which was great as I could then choose when to have to during the day without it making a mess. There were Plain scones and fruit scones which was great as I prefer plain. This was just under £3 and the scone was a good size. Ordered a drink as well. We had around a 5 - 8 minute wait which we didn't mind at all especially as they were so busy. Lots of choices and would go back!”

“We stayed in the hotel only for one night. Clean and tidy. Check in wa fast and without any issues. Room with kettle and basic supplies, cofee, tea etc. Towels and storage available. Only downside I would say is the noise. Windows are very old. Wind and noise from the outside is coming through. Bus stop next to the hotel so it is easy and convenient way to travel accross teh city. Shoping centre near by if you want to buy some basic supply or eat outside. Overall, good value!”
