“The hotel (1.9.22) was absolutely fine but the 5 stars relates to the two staff having to deal with the reception, bar and restaurant in the evening. They were short of drink at the bar and food in the restaurant but the staff couldn’t be more helpful, offering a free dinner due to a wait. Well done”

“I can not thank all the staff at the vets. They took great care of my dog, who had to go in for dental cleaning and the removal of two of his teeth. They explained everything to me what to expect after as lm a great worrier when it comes to my best buddy. So THANKYOU ALL VERY MUCH FOR UNDERSTANDING.”

“I had a good experience with my ear wax removal. Very professional, consulted me about my ear in detail and explained very well. He allowed me to see the process, the before and after. I would recommend coming to this pharmacy to get your ears checked or ear wax removed.”

“Despite my parent’s dog being registered locally with another veterinary practice and me ringing during their opening hours expressing concern that the dog needed to be seen urgently, I was declined an appointment. I was left ringing round and Shepherd’s Vets came to the rescue with an Out of Hours appointment at home to sadly put to sleep their dog. The visiting vet and nurse were compassionate and caring and I can’t thank them enough for their support during what was a difficult and heartbreaking position. The only vets locally to do home visits and I will transferring my cats to their care to ensure I don’t have a repeat experience of being declined an appointment in a pets hour of need!”

“Michael is a pillar of the community and provides a shopping experience to residents analogous to Harrods. Aisles are well lit and stocked. Staff are very friendly and recent refurbishments to the store have made the shopping experience even better.”

“We are a big family and didn’t want to have room cars apart so they ensured we had interconnecting rooms, upon arriving at the hotel the receptionist jack was lovely he made conversation straight away and made us feel so welcome, he went above and beyond with things we needed help with such as the cot he never made it feel like any thing was a problem! The rooms were very clean and big. And our children were happy they could see the animals from the window. Staff and other guests were lovely at the bar too. You will be seeing us again very soon”

“Friendly little place. The room I had was large and well equipped. The bed was very comfy and the room was warm. The shower was really powerful and lovey and hot. The staff were kind and helpful. This is a budget hotel but it does exactly what it says on the tin. The breakfast was a bit sad but was as advertised”

There was an issue with the perfume which I’d rather not mention in this review however, the staff at boots were fantastic when I returned the product the following day. “Came for Sunday lunch which was an absolute treat!! We came as a surprise party of 8 adults and 6 children. They got us seated immediately and our food arrived hot and extremely quickly. Kids portions were generous, and the gravy and Yorkshire puddings were DELICIOUS! The new team and chef here have massively changed their game for the better. Just need stronger forks now :) I'll be bringing my family here next time they visit as the value for money cannot be argued with. Thanks for a lovely afternoon, and being so kind and accommodating to our rabble of chaos!”

“I first went to this hotel to use its leisure facilities, as I'm due to invest in a membership. I was greeted by Chris, who was so helpful, as were all of the other members. This place is a little oasis of lovely people, decent facilities, and a really welcoming feeling. The gym is well equipped, clean and well maintained, the pool is a perfect temperature, as are the steam and sauna. The staff, Chris, Gareth and Lisa, are a credit to this establishment. Then on the 5.10.2025, I decided to book a room for my Sons Birthday sleepover, on arrival, I was warmly welcomed by Kadrija, at reception, this wonderful lady, made the whole check in process, so straightforward. This was my first time using this hotel for an overnight stay. When I informed Kadrija, that it was my Sons Birthday, this lady went above and beyond to assist and ensure we had a fantastic stay. I booked my Son and his guests, a three course evening meal, the selection as well as the quality of food and ingredients, were impressive. The hotel suite was clean, spacious and it really did exceed our expectations, the bed, wow, I mean, it was like sleeping in the clouds. At breakfast, the server Ellesse, was soo attentive. I would highly recommend this beautiful establishment, the staff, really were what made our stay soo pleasurable.”

“Very clean and comfort room. Easy access to local attractions including dudley zoo and castle and the black country living museum both in minutes walking distance. The breakfast was lovely and had a great selection and the staff were very Friendly”

“Great pet shop with a wide range of products for your pets/furry friends. Very helpful and if you need anything the friendly staff are on hand to help. I needed to order in a specific type of food for my dog and Two by Two was the only pet store that could get it in so a big thank you to the staff and manager for your help. Five star plus”

“We paid for wifi it kept dropping out and sometimew no signal at all, shower the extractor fan did not work so steam went into the room made it hot. Service at reception was very friendly and the cleaners.”
